Thank you! Just the word "stress" use to stress me outages but my advice is that stress isn't a bad thing and when we realize that's we start to feel better about ourselves and I love how you said that we hold the KEY to our stress levels I'm going to start changing where and what I put my focus on and start living simple. I do want a simple life to be honest.
    Eat
    Sleep
    Breathe
    DO GOOD and FEEL GOOD
And it's how you react to things that determines your sucess in life
    DO GOOD PEOPLE LOVE YOU

This was great! For those with a neurotypical baseline. I just have to add, 90:10 works if that is really how the system is set up for you, if you have certain existing privileges on this earth and are not being systemically undermined or projected upon by OTHER people's inability to inhabit or deal with their stress. Dissociation and projection, or dispossession and transference of feeling, is known in the psychological community and for those often of marginalized or silenced otherness, in daily life. Additionally, I would advocate that some people are naturally rationally minded and CBT is an effective technique. Others are more somatically or kinesthetically sensitive, traits that are not typical tested for in young children in preference for the types of intelligence that succeed in cognitive culture. So to change our thinking towards coherence, we all can benefit from techniques to guide us towards our other brain -- no, not that one :) -- in terms of being guided by the heart. Choose coherence! I love it. The HeartMath folks are good at coaching this. Thanks again for this fun and guiding video.

That was extremely helpful, it gives a different approach on stress "the car is not driving you you're driving the car" that's what I concluded from this video, it's an art form to be mastered after many years of being programmed as "helpless" it's difficult to think you can actually help your own self feel better by managing your thoughts.

This sounds right but if I see it from another point of view, I'm afraid of people's mind can be controlled. What's wrong with being stressed? Is it really up to our way of thinking? The society we live in is not a cool place and very normal to feel stress. But we might be able to use stress as a helpful resource to take it into an action. feeling stressed out is a natural sign. It's good to trust our intuitive emotional and feeling of stress rather than trying to make it something different. People are too focused on changing and suppressing themselves, but maybe it's better to let ourselves be free and as it is. Let it be stressed out, upset if it does.
Rather than someone telling us this is the answer and we should follow this, isn't it more helpful that each one of us know how to communicate to the body and mind, then find individual answers and ways to deal with?

  • @eriklacroix2684

This was really great. I've been using mindfulness based therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy to manage stress for a while now. I would only add that exercise plus all of this makes it far easier to discipline your mind, something I've found lately.

Good info. Its also worth noting that some doctors have noticed that CBT has a sucess rate and a failure rate. The failures are not always due to lack of effort to apply CBT techniques. Check out the book Mood Cure. It was found that for some people, metabolic imbalances incline them to negative thinking, extreme emotional reactions, etc. In fact, Dr Hans Selye, a prominent researcher in stress, demonstrated that physical stressors could produce the same stress reactions as what one might call negative thinking. So the matter is complicated by things such as food/chemical sensitivites or allergies, environmental stressors, chronic inflammation, poor diet, etc. But this video is excellent in pointing out the value of better thinking patterns. IMHO, this can help even when a physiological problem is the root cause of ones overreaction to stress.

This video was really insightful and reminded me that letting things go redirecting your attention really does work. There have been times where I chose to stay upset/stressed about a situation and continued to think about it which only made me more stressed and upset. Then there have been other times where I chose to let it go and move on with my day saying, "It'll be okay." I think learning to let stressors go is quite the task. But I definitely think it's very useful in being healthier. Letting things go quite frankly sets you free because there are limited things someone has complete control over. When I get really stressed out I usually partake in deep breathing and sometimes I even write. The latter being very helpful at times to just expressing myself through creative outlets. Very informative and eye opening video!

Love the idea of answering the question regarding the one single thing.
Stress is often overwhelming and at the height of stress we need something clear and simple to avoid getting even more stressed by the solution!
Loved the mind map at 1m 51 showing the perspectives of stress from different professionals. Especially the idea of reframing stress as positive in smaller doses.
We'd agree that changing thinking style is key but say that it's important to mention that thinking habits might not shift dramatically in 5 minutes. There may need to be a gradual changing of thinking habits in order to make it stick.
    Overall a superb presentation.

Interesting content. But I feel like this video tells " what to do " and not " How to do it ". The second question is usually the big challenge for the highly stressed people, I would be glad to get more information about HOW to explore these different steps of Changes in Thinking. Also, although stressed people might agree that this can be a solution, but not all of them are motivated to furnish the efforts to do it. This will go back again to the question, How to Change your Thinking ?

Great visual presentation. The most powerful idea is that there is a space or GAP between stimulus and response. If we ignore the GAP (power of choice) then, the fear mechanisms of the amygdala send us into a limbic reaction (the limbic system is the emotional center of the brain) firing the survival mechanisms of fight-flight response regardless of the nature of the perceived threat. If we allow ourselves to respond using a variety of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Technique) we have the chance to filter our response with more optimal solutions to the stressful situation using the frontal lobe. This alone is the most encouraging factor of human behavior. We can change the outcome if we change our perceptions. Thank you.
