Yes this exactly. Don’t be hesitant just go with confidence and they will avoid you if need be. I personally didn’t have an issue with it the first time I went but I can see why it would be a bit daunting to some.

Laos is the quiet neighbor of Vietnam. You don't have to worry about the heavy traffic. It is nonexistent there. Laos has the lowest population of any Asian country. I go there every year for the solitude.

I agree I started traveling to Vietnam back in 2017… I started in Saigon then went to Hanoi then da Nang Nah Thang Hoi an Halong Bay Sapa and you can’t go wrong trying all the local food 👍😊

I have been to Vietnam like 10 times and I can't get enough of it. Do be careful of iPhones though, snatch theft is EXTREMELY COMMON. I am lucky enough not to experience it, but I did see it. Here in Laos, there is no heavy traffic because of the low population. Laos is the quiet neighbor of Vietnam. It is very slow paced and laid-back country. I come to Laos for the peace and solitude.
Come to the big sand dunes in Mui Ne, to the forests and fresh air in Da Lat, to the Central region with the tourist city of Da Nang (with one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet), to the ancient town of Hoi An. That yellow building is the post office and was designed by Gusrave Eiffel, who designed the Eiffrl tower. If you have the budget take a tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong River. So interesting to things about the Vietnam war from the other side (like they referred to it as the American war) Can't wait to see you travel North! Be safe travelling and check Sapa. 🇻🇳😊
When you eat Pho, put in lemon, chillies, pepper and it becomes the whole. The veggie you asked is called saw corianders, pho isn’t the same without basils, mints, bean sprouts and corianders. Be careful with the traffic.
In Vietnam you don't stop when walking across the road, just do it slowly while watching traffic, that way the motor vehicles will avoid you. If you stop in traffic it's pretty unsafe. You guys should try Bún Thịt Nướng Cha Gio (Pork and Spring Rolls Rice Vermicelli) , Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Pizza) when you have the chance. They're very unique!

Ho Chi Minh city looks nice. I'll have to visit sometime. I haven't been to Vietnam but my sister hated it when she went to Hanoi a couple years back just before covid striked. Wondering how different Hanoi is from HCM city. Gta say, she loved loved Bangkok though. She went bk there so many times.
Grab is so cheap. We used the app on our phones and set it up to take the money out of our account so we didn't need to find the cash each time or deal with any language barriers. Once my wife and I got Grab motorcycles in Hoi An and it costs us 58 cents each for a 5 min ride. We mostly used the car and prices ranged from $2 up to $5 each ride.

First time watching and subbed. Great video...dang, Saigon is so modern, I wasn't expecting that. The street crossing was super brave! I heard by about the third day, you'll be a pro at it and won't notice all that beeping/noise, either. LOL
Watching you guys passing the street is amazing. It all starts with the fact that most drivers don't know that they need to stop before a crossing line (though they know that it should be where pedestrians cross the street). Then, when some of us know that, we are a small minority and we simply cannot stop in that stream without being hit from behind. And that is how it goes.
Currently, i 've watched a lot of videos about new foreign people coming to Vietnam and make TH-cam videos " First day in Vietnam" or something like that, appriciate when u guys chose Vietnam to visit and have a good journey!

Make sure you utilise the breakfast at the hotel as it is part of the hotel cost. I normally had 3 serves at the hotel breakfast hence I had no lunch, saved some money.
I know you guys were thinking of scootering up north (ambitious, but doable - see the BBC’s Top Gear - Vietnam). Something perhaps you should also consider, which I did with a friend, is renting scooters with a guide (we actually rented Honda Waves) in Sapa, near Lao Cai and the Chinese border (overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai), and riding round for a few days to visit the hill tribes in the villages near the border - absolutely spectacular! Would upload a few photos to give you an idea.
Guys, I'm not sure anyone told you guys yet, but for pho, you guys just pick the fresh basil leaves and leave out the stems. The lime can be squeezed and discarded instead of putting into the bowl. That long leaf with spikes at the end, put them into pho will give pho a more distinct flavor/smell. Glad you love my country :)

Welcome to Saigon (HCMC). Saigon temperature is cool in the morning and at night and hot in the afternoon. The city come alive at night when the city light lit up and people going out because the weather is cooler. If yall want good view of the city go to coffee shop Landmark 81 at 65-68 floor

Ho Chi Minh city looks nice. I'll have to visit sometime. I haven't been to Vietnam but my sister hated it when she went to Hanoi a couple years back just before covid striked. Wondering how different Hanoi is from HCM city. Gta say, she loved loved Bangkok though. She went bk there so many times.
As a Cambodian crossing streets in Vietnam is also a challenging ☺️
If you guys like nature, I suggest that you guys go to the North where there is beautiful places to see and also there is lots of resorts.

Grab is so cheap. We used the app on our phones and set it up to take the money out of our account so we didn't need to find the cash each time or deal with any language barriers. Once my wife and I got Grab motorcycles in Hoi An and it costs us 58 cents each for a 5 min ride. We mostly used the car and prices ranged from $2 up to $5 each ride.

First time watching and subbed. Great video...dang, Saigon is so modern, I wasn't expecting that. The street crossing was super brave! I heard by about the third day, you'll be a pro at it and won't notice all that beeping/noise, either. LOL

Watching you guys passing the street is amazing. It all starts with the fact that most drivers don't know that they need to stop before a crossing line (though they know that it should be where pedestrians cross the street). Then, when some of us know that, we are a small minority and we simply cannot stop in that stream without being hit from behind. And that is how it goes.
Indeed. But, I will say the system works better than many foreigners might guess. Still a mini adventure every time 😂
Currently, i 've watched a lot of videos about new foreign people coming to Vietnam and make TH-cam videos " First day in Vietnam" or something like that, appriciate when u guys chose Vietnam to visit and have a good journey!

You could have easily crossed to Saigon from Phnom Penh by road, totally just about 160miles.

Just a little comment here, it would be easier and more informative for (new) viewers to keep track w ur travelling if you could note down some details of your journey in the description box, like from which airport to which airport by which airline, hotel/restaurants' name...

You guy was in the best part of Saigon , district 1 is safe and clean even it’s more expensive than any other districts .I miss SG. Glad you enjoy your time there

Make sure you utilise the breakfast at the hotel as it is part of the hotel cost. I normally had 3 serves at the hotel breakfast hence I had no lunch, saved some money.
I know you guys were thinking of scootering up north (ambitious, but doable - see the BBC’s Top Gear - Vietnam). Something perhaps you should also consider, which I did with a friend, is renting scooters with a guide (we actually rented Honda Waves) in Sapa, near Lao Cai and the Chinese border (overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai), and riding round for a few days to visit the hill tribes in the villages near the border - absolutely spectacular! Would upload a few photos to give you an idea.
Guys, I'm not sure anyone told you guys yet, but for pho, you guys just pick the fresh basil leaves and leave out the stems. The lime can be squeezed and discarded instead of putting into the bowl. That long leaf with spikes at the end, put them into pho will give pho a more distinct flavor/smell. Glad you love my country :)

So imprepessed with Chefs Road Crossing skills, I kid you not whilst in Cambodia, A blind guy approached me on the side of the road like a guardian angel, he took my hand and walked me so casually across the road after standing there for what seemed hours. I don't know to this day if it was a stunt etc, but he sure as hell gave me the confidence to walk the way you DO ( desperately trying not to sing "Walk this Way" by Run DMC & Aerosmith 🎶🎸)

Welcome to VietNam. If you like Pho, I would recommend to try Pho Tau Bay. You can google it or ask the locals. One of the original Pho place in Saigon, started in the 50's.
Welcome to Saigon (HCMC). Saigon temperature is cool in the morning and at night and hot in the afternoon. The city come alive at night when the city light lit up and people going out because the weather is cooler. If yall want good view of the city go to coffee shop Landmark 81 at 65-68 floor
