To really enjoy meals in Asia it's best to share. Order 3 to 4 dishes and enjoy them together with steamed white rice. Yummy 😋 Pity you missed Hoi An, a UNESCO heritage town. Its so pretty there.

That is so true. Asian’s culture are more about sharing while western culture its more individualistic. Sharing allows one to taste more food for the same price.

Yes, they are missing so much in their rush to eat. So sad to see. I watch there videos and see them passing a turnoff to a great place and Inwant tomyell into the video. But that is the type of trip theybwant. The best to them. I certainly worry about the way they drive.mwould work in many countries....but not here.

    • @neonboy99

@@diazo5679 Agreed you guys should not rush around like tourists. Instead spend a lot more time in a country as big as Vietnam. It's not about checking the boxes and trying to visit every country in Asia. Best to take a full week in each town n city. We want you guys to enjoy the journey too n experience life with the locals. You guys are moving way too fast and missing some great cities n towns.

Hue was an ancient capital of Vietnam during the. Nguyen dynasty. It has a citadel where all Vietnamese emperors lived until 1950. Hue also has a famous noodle soup which called “ Bun bo Hue”. This is a specialty of the city. However, you can find “ Bun bo Hue” in all the cities in the country. Hai Van pass used to be a very dangerous pass because the very narrow lanes of the route. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Have fun and stay safe !

Since you already liked Hai Vân pass , you will fall in love for sure with Ma Pi Leng pass in Ha Giang province ( Ha Giang loop ) , O Quy Ho pass ( near Sapa ) and Fa Din pass in Son La province . These 3 passes are the most gorgeous and `must see ` roads in VN . Stay safe and enjoy your tour in our country

The day I rode the pass, it was pouring rain (typhoon was somewhere) and the fog was so think I couldn't see more than 5 metres.

  • @daklakdigital3691
    @daklakdigital3691 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I am glad you rode the pass far nicer than having your motorcycle piled in the back of a truck! The American War left a few landmarks such as the "Pill Boxes" - one is built INTO the roof of of the Royal Palace.
Staying in Da Nang was a wise choice since hotel prices in Hue are so high. The Dragon Bridge represents the "new" VietNam, post re-building after the American War - well worth the trip.
Da Nang has an international airport. Don't go looking for China Beach as it renamed and commercialised with 5* hotels.
The Da Nang area is famous for high quality marble. The port serves both fisher people as well as cruises and cargo boats.

I got it in November and haven't truelly tested it like this. But..fyi you can get cases to go around them (I have a metal one and silicone). Hope all goes well with your visas! Safe travels.

Fyi, the Vietnamese's tradional way of ordering foods in restaurants such as the last one in this video is to order a bunch of different dishes and share. More variety and brings out the family vibe.
But you do you. I'd have 2-3 dishes just for myself lol.

Great ride for sure. Done that pass many times. Hue is actually pretty cool, so sorry you missed Hoi An. Looks like you are taking the same route I took a couple years ago, next up is probably Khe Sanh, small place with a tragic history, but from there to Phong nah is really some incredible riding. Be sure to do the caves there. If and when you go on to Ninh Binh I would suggest the Elizabeth hotel, family run two brothers and a sister, Thanks for bringing back some great memories. By the way much of the stretch from Khe Sanh to Phong Nah is very isolated so need to do it all in one go. Wheee

There’re so many beautiful places in VN but the ones tourists (and locals) talk about the most probably is Hoi An, the Unesco Heritage town. Lang Co beach is also amazing...You seem to rush about a lot, maybe due to your visa arrangement. But such a pity since you’re so close to those places.

One trick for the pronunciation: open Google Translate, set it to translate from Vietnamese to English. In the Vietnamese box, type in the word as you saw without the accent marks. For example, the restaurant name is "Không gian xưa", you just need to type "khong gian xua". Google Translate will show suggestion for the correct word with the accent marks. In this case, the app would show "Did you mean: Không Gian Xưa", just click on that suggestion (which is mostly accurate), now you can click the speaker icon in the Vietnamese box to hear the pronunciation.

DJI is the famous brand of drone in China and around the world, the leading brand in fact. DJI Drone equipped with camera is used around the world for its robustness and reliability. So DJI action camera enjoys the same reputation. Hue is famous as the most intense fighting theatre during TET offensive in 1968. I and 59 cyclists from Thailand biked from Lao border through central VN to Hue, Danang and Hoi-an 10 years ago and then biked back to the Lao border, visiting the famous tunnels along the way. I still remembered the news in Thai newspaper about TET offensive and the Hue theatre.

wow thats a kindof expensive camera , they do say its better than a gopro
for the money you could buy a verry good used slr camera but then again swinging that size camera around pointing at youreselves and at the landscape going by while sitting on a motorbike isnt wat that type of camera is made for , besides that it takes up some room in the backpack compared to wat you bought now
was thinking on using an slr style camera on my trip but looking at footage from some of the bloggers that use there phone on a selfy stick basicly i think i just going to use my phone and add some memory and some holders to it instead
just need to figure out some editing program by the time im back home or on a rainy day in thailand , had a small cam that could upload directly to youtube that was basicly 240 p , i dont know if the phone uses the same type of AVI movie files or if i need to convert them to post , i have a few movies on my channel that are basicly raw footage from the phillipines when i was at ocean world
brings back memories , it was like inside a metal drum with a bunch of kids using their outdoor voices , just my luck that i got there at the same time as 4 or 5 schoolexcursions
still think you should use some sort of communication system amongs all three of you , been thinking about that though and was thinking that it might work with bluetooth headsets cnnected to one phone , these sets arent all that expensive and small too , not sure if it would work though to use them that way
the camera is pre disastered should be ok from now on
the garlic reminds me of when i worked for a company that converted cars intoo limosines and convertibles that was owned by a singapore company , the sons of that owner came to the netherlands to work a little and see how we did things , now people from singapore realy like there spices and garlic
one of those guys had installed sumting in a car and had fallen asleep in it , after a while he got out and the next guy got in to install a radio , he had to open all the doors first to get the garlic smell out so he could get in without gagging , when the owners sons left to go back they trew a party with a lot of traditional food and the same guy couldnt sleep next to his girlfriend for a couple of days after , took a lot of brushing of teeth mouthwater showers and deodorant to let her come near him again

If you see restaurant burning paper, it’s basically wanting “ghost” and bad spirit inside the restaurant to leave. They are scaring away customers, and that it’s been very slow all day.
If you guys see that in front of a restaurant, help them out and come inside, eat/drink and help their business out.
My wife and I do that all the time, regardless if the food is bad. If we walk along sude the road, and we see that. We come inside that restaurant to eat.

@@DaveEPie Np, I worked in many restaurants; and everytime it get so slow for any reason. One of the owner/manager will come out, and burn stuff like paper outside the restaurant.

It’s not “trash burning day” in Hue. Not too sure but it has something to do with Buddhist’s celebration.

Yeah, Vesak Day. There was smoke everywhere.

    • @vinhmai8754
      @vinhmai8754 2 ปีที่แล้ว

If you say it like that, they will probably think it’s Vesak day, everyday. It’s not because it’s Vesak day, and we don’t know when the video was shot, so we can’t assume they shot the video on the 15th/16th of May.
If they go next week to another city, and see people are doing it again, burning stuff outside, they will probably think it’s Vesak day again.
There is another way people burn stuff, because the restaurant want to get rid of the bad ambience “ghost” of the place and hope to bring more customers inside. This could happen any time of the day, any day of the week.
