    I think Mohg's phase transition is just another one of those moments where exploring makes the game way easier, like with Gascoigne's daughter's music box, because of the purifying tear.

      Yeah, Irithyll is arguably better than all of these, excluding the top 2 and Ringed City. With the bloodborne areas he mentioned, Im kinda thorn. While the level design is pretty good, I rly hate the BB atmosphere and I don't think the game is particularly hard either. Also, its just way too dark for the most part.

    Midir was a challenge for me. Not only because of the health bar and hard to understand moveset (for me at the time) but also the fact that for such a massive dragon he is sooooo fucking fast. I did not expect him to be that fast even Kalameet didn't feel that fast as Midir

    everything with gael is amazing, his backstory, his quest for a new world to be made, guiding you thru the painting and the dreg heap all to culminate at this epic anime battle at the end of time, nothing is left other than him and you, 2 nobodies battling it out for the dark soul, and in the end his wish comes true as you help putting him to finally rest and full filling his wish for a new world. and the music is so amazing, def one of the best Boss themes ever.

    Fighting Lady maria with the chikage and no parries was one of the most stressful and fun souls fights I've ever done. Her bloodtinge resistance is fucking insane, even with a +10 chikage your damage feels like you're using a +5 weapon at best. Highly recommend doing this if you love fighting maria but think she's too easy.

    Trina deserves a spot on this list. She/he is a good semi-duo fight. Also Messner feels great Parry-wise (something between Morgott and Malenia) and very cinematic beeng the almost final boss and challenging melee, just an even better Radagon.
    I do also think Godfrey deserves a spot on this list. But I guess it had to be either him or Mohg.

    41:52 so Dark souls 2 did this, only on NG +.
    When you went to Brightstone Cove Tseldora, right before the chapel, The Duke’s Dear Freja would pop up and attack you for a limited amount of time.
    You couldn’t kill her, but whatever damage you did here would carry over into her boss fight later on.

    Good list. If I could add something, I’d add Morgott and probably remove Pontiff. Morgott always makes you feel on edge and the fight rewards you for learning when you can attack him while he is actively attacking. My biggest problem with Pontiff is I think it’s a bit broken that his attacks can trace you across the arena, regardless of how far away you are. I feel like most other great FS bosses allow you to take into account positioning, whereas with Pontiff, his fight takes some of that element away. He also has one BS offhand stab that feels a little too fast to reliably predict

    Mohg could have just been better by a second health bar. They seem surprisingly scared to do that in this game with only the final boss, Malenia, and Rykard coming to mind immediately. (Yes and Rennala but that isn’t exactly making the fight more fair as much as it’s just lore). DS3 had LaL, Soul of Cinder, Nameless King, Sister Friede, Demon Prince, and Abyss Watchers. Twice as many for a much shorter game.

      @CosmicEye597  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello, hopefully I can help with that
      Bloodborne is completely playable on the PS5, you're right. However, you are playing it through a PS4 application, so not much will be different. The framerate won't be a modern 60 FPS, it never got a 4K/1440P patch, and it still has a few issues here and there. The game is also completely locked to Sony's hardware, so PC and Xbox players won't be able to enjoy it. The community has been begging for ages for a simple remaster, and some people are asking for a remake. I am in the camp for either, but I guess I would prefer both a remake and a remaster. Anyway, I also believe that making games available to everyone is only a good thing. I don't like that Bloodborne is locked, and Xbox/PC players can't enjoy the game.
      Tl;dr: Playable on PS5, but very inaccessible.

    Nice video but i disagree that bloodborne and elden ring have the best early game. DS1 early game is outstanding level design. Getting all the way to undead parish and finding the elevator back to firelink. Chef's kiss

    • @buckyhurdle4776
      @buckyhurdle4776 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Level design, yeah. But if you've followed the series since ds1 came out and followed the evolution of all the mechanics and dirty tricks Miyazaki likes to use, the gameplay of DS1 just doesn't hold up imo. And I'll still replay it at least once a year. The easier fights are a little too simple, and the harder fights are a little too jank. I have to be honest with myself and say DS1 would be a bad 1st game to pick, right now, to get someone into From's catalogue. I would tell someone to play Bloodborne or Elden Ring first, and then play the dark souls games in release order if they've been hooked

      So I played elden ring first, did ok but kind of gave up. Then tried DS remastered, struggled but eventually it just clicked. And I managed to do the rest of the game. Besides O and S, the rest of the bosses I did within about 10 tries. Then i tried bloodborne and I thought the individual levels were extremely well desgined but I found in DS1 that the various different levels in the first half of the game linked together really well without need of warping

  • @christopherdunlap7028

    We are very different in what we like and dislike in Elden Ring. I dont mind Melania and her siphon or Water Fowl Dance. I think it's appropriate for someone "who has never known defeat". However, I hate the Mohg fight. It's not that he's so hard, i just feel he uses a "cheap" damage and avoidance concept. He jumps back and floats to avoid damage and then punishes trying to close the distance by using blood flame to soak the ground and get not only cheap free damage because it sits there (and he splatters that crap everywhere) but it also builds up bleed damage for quick massive damage. Causing you to retreat the area to heal and stop the "bleeding" (pun intended). I've never liked this gimic, even going all the way back to Quelaag from DS1. Even though she just causes fire damage, it's still a protective barrier.

  • @doomraven0
    @doomraven0 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Midir is an utter shit boss, imo. The runback is terrible and he can easily oneshot you with high vigor so you don't even have a chance to learn his moves. What a joke. The same DLC also gave us the amazing and balanced Demon Princes and Gael fight. Artorias definitely belongs on this list.
    Orphan is my favorite Bloodborne boss. Ludwig and Maria are truly phenomenal fights but with Orphan, i love how insane and damaged he is, the hits almost not being as disconcerting as his screams. Yes, Ludwig is definitely the most epic and Maria is very emotional, but something in Orphan's fight hits me hard every time.

  • @justhair17
    @justhair17 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Midir is defo the hardest boss in all ds games. And no, I did not just attack his feet. Its his caotic moveset, his insane damage and his high health bar. Most of the other 'hard' bosses like Nameless or Gael are not that hard to dodge if you have a feel for those types of enemies, but Midir is something else. Also, he is just big, so the camera can fuck with you a lot. With that being said, he is still not as hard as some of the lategame bosses in ER, like Malenia, Radagon, Maliketh or Godfrey. I do think he is harder than Mohg tho

  • @justhair17
    @justhair17 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just one Elden Ring boss? ER has by far the best bosses and like 5-6/10 would be from ER for me. The only one I'd include from BB is Orphan, but in general I don't like that game too much and from ds3 likely Friede, Midir and Gael as well. Number 1 would prolly be Maliketh or Godfrey, I feel like both of those bosses are almost perfect. Great ost, very difficult, but never feels unfair and while they do a lot of dmg, their attacks are quite well-telegraphed and there are a lot of openings. They are bosses that are very fun and difficult, but are not borderline unfair like Malenia.
    I also wouldn't put Gael in the top 3 even though he is super cool and enjoyable for the sole fact that he isn't that difficult. I died to him like 2 times in total, so beating him did not give me the same sense of triumph I got after beating the likes of Friede, Midir or the hardest ER bosses

    It's a shame not everyone appreciates Elden Ring's boss design. I have noticed a reocurring phenomenon that literally everyone that doesnt like elden rings bosses are big fans of ds3's bosses. While I still think Gael, Midir, and Pontiff are amazing bosses but I find most of ds3's bosses to be a little too telegraphed, to the point where most attacks you can just react to. There aren't many roll catch attacks, attack timings you have to actually memorize, etc. 90% of the bosses I beat in 3 or less attempts which felt pretty disappointing, I felt like I wasnt actually mastering the boss but was just getting by with reactions, not actually learning. I also felt the movesets were lacking in variety, not as many mix ups, and I could pretty much punish every single combo, some bosses I could punish every single hit. I get that in lore the bosses are meant to be weak because the worlds been going on too long but it was still boring as a result. Every problem I mentioned is even worse in ds2 and most of ds1. I still like those games bosses, but for me it's not as interactive as Elden Ring Bloodborne, and even Lies of P

    • @rian7083
      @rian7083 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +30

      I actually really enjoy the fact that someone could theoretically beat all ds1-2-3 bosses purely on reaction, that way it isn't just "play until you memorize it" but more based on actual skill. Reason why I really enjoy the golden Godfrey boss in Elden ring, nice combos and attacks, not always easy to anticipate but based on skill rather than memory

    • @Downsquad
      @Downsquad 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      Elden ring bosses are great but if anything was to hold them back it would be design, the overly delayed attacks require nothing but trial and error to dodge, asking for perfection timing with the draconic double lightning and waterfowl etc is unreasonable if you are mid-rolling and is just unreliable and boring, heal detection with the fireballs from Godskin and countless other bosses are overdone, the lack of clear windows also makes a fight last way longer double that with the health bars that are way to big for some bosses like Margit and the worst for me AOE spam I absolutely hate AOEs they do nothing but reduce how important positioning is and kinda just ask you to mindlessly dodge without positioning as AOEs can come out as multiple swings making it mindless and memory-based rather than skill(There are some decent AOEs such as Godfrey's ground stomp that only effect a small area in front of him and the AOEs you can jump for to get a hit in like Godfreys big stomp)

    • @bombthing
      @bombthing 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@rian7083 we have different views on skill then. For me I consider it more skillfull to have perfectly memorized each and every attack and how to dodge every attack then to just dodge when it looks like you are about to be hit. I like the idea of having to know the boss inside and out in order to beat them. I don't like cheap difficulty though, if there's one bad thing I can definitely say about ER is the duo bosses are all cheap difficulty

    • @dinb_dinb
      @dinb_dinb 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Because too much memorization sucks for most people. DS3 and Sekiro bosses offered a perfect mix between complexity for those who look for it and at the same time not being way too punishing to beat them.
      There's also a good reason to why ER is called easiest souls game, most players just bruteforced the game with summons and op builds without even properly engaging with the bosses.
      On top of all that ER is very lacking when it comes to boss variety or gimmicks, there's not even a single remembrance duo fight.

    • @bombthing
      @bombthing 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@dinb_dinb Yeah like I said I praise ER's bosses all the time, but their duo fights ain't it, so I'm kinda glad there isnt a remembrance duo fight lol. Also I love Sekiro's bosses more than ER's bosses, shout out to Demon of Hatred and Isshin, those two are my second and third fav boss in fromsoft, right behind Malenia. I still think DS3 has some great bosses, but there's a lot I don't like. Love all the dlc bosses besides halflight and the stupid wolf. Love Gundyr, Pontiff, Armour, Twin Princes, SoC, Dancer, Nameless King. 50/50 on Abyss Watchers. Hate Crystal Sage, Gankwood, Aldritch, Wyvern, Deacons, and every boss I didnt mention I either forgot or I think is average. I am a souls vet from when demons souls first came out in America and I remember getting bloodborne first day and getting stuck in yahrnum for days on end. I only got a little further than that and ended up putting it down out of frustration and playing mgsV when it came out kinda giving up on bloodborne. I didn’t pick it back up for like 6 months but when I did I will never forget the feeling when I got to bergenworth and the tone of the game started to shift to the lovecraftian cosmic horror and being blown away with how amazing and awesome the game turned out to be. Suffice to say bloodborne is not only my favorite fromsoft game by a long shot it is my favorite game of all time which I never thought something could beat out the nostalgia I have for super Metroid but bloodborne has surpassed everything I’ve ever played. I can still just pick it up start a new character and get lost in central yahrnum any day and I can do that with any other game god I wish there were more bloodborne but if that never happened I will still be grateful to have had such an amazing experience with it and have no problem just picking it up and replaying it just the way it is. 30fps and all IDC

    It will NEVER be too late for a Bloodborne sequel.
    It will NEVER be too late for a Sekiro sequel (although it might be too late for a DLC for Sekiro by now).
    I hope we get both someday. I just don’t understand why we never got BB II, and I will NEVER understand why we never got a DLC for Sekiro. That bs post-game content they put out for Sekiro was blasphemous at best. Ok, we got the option to fight all of the bosses, one by one in any order, whenever we want, without having to play through the game. That’s not what we wanted, however; we wanted a PROPER, CLASSIC FROM SOFTWARE DLC just like they did for all of their other games (excluding BB and Sekiro). Each of the Souls games got a DLC. Demons’ Souls got a DLC. Even ELDEN RING IS GETTING ONE AND IT’S THE LATEST ONE!!! How did Elden Ring get a DLC before Sekiro??? 😂 That’s some BULLSHIT, I’m sorry 😂 😂😂
