Hyundai is the next BMW. I've followed them from quiet a while since early 2000s when my family first owned a santro. A basic, affordable hatchback. They've slowly and consistently moved up the value chain, improving their products. Now they have a performance division called N modelled very like the M division of BMW. Hyundai has figured out the Asian markets which gives it a huge boost to compete internationally

Went to the grossglockoner in september, and i was not prepared for how impressive this road is. Genuinely breathtaking. Thing is, there is so much to see, you don't really feel like driving like an idiot.
I still have the same car and I am very happy with it. Service is really cheap for this power car. I haven't had a problem with him all this time. Only pay attention to frequent oil changes if you drive very sporty.

You don’t buy a car like this for the sake of showing off a badge, or because of how expensive it looks inside with all the glossy bits of plastic (plastic is still plastic, but badge snobs won’t understand) and stupid ass LED lights all over the damn cabin and dashboard...yes i’m talking about Merc and VW. It’s twice the driver’s car of a similarly priced german could ever hope to be, let that sink in. Plus i honestly think that only the Megan RS and A45 beat this in the looks department.

Don't worry it's coming. Evo mentioned the test car with 395bhp parked in Hyundai test centre at the Ring when they tested the almost production ready i30N. i20N is next and coming soon to take on the Fiesta ST then I've heard the 4wd car is next.
@@bat33.12 A Sonata N and Kona N will come next. i20 N will be for the next gen of i20. The Kona N will probably get the 4WD, although I am not a fan of Haldex fake wheel drive. It sacrafices cornering ability for straight line acceleration. Every hot hatch with Haldex diffs have a heavy tendancy for understeer. I would much rather see them skip Haldex and switch to the Quaife diff (Focus RS, 2020 AMG 45) immediatly. Those are fun to drive AWD without sacraficing to much of the corner stability.
@@Iron883Man i20N has been testing for months at the Nürburgring along with the 8 speed auto i30N which is confirmed for late 2020. There has been talk of a 350bhp 4wd Kona N and a test car has been pictured but no details of it being 4wd or power outputs yet. Though I now believe I'm wrong about the 4wd i30N from recent comments made by Albert Biermann who has stated that 4wd is not necessary. They had a test mule with 4wd before the i30N was released but with a Halo mid engine car with the Porsche Cayman in it's sights I guess the 4wd is not a priority?
@@bat33.12 The i20 spotted did not have any N logo's. It's a modified current gen i20 with a 1.6 T-GDI delivering 177 hp. But I don't think they will release one, as there are no visual upgrades to the car, other than a set of N wheels. I've heard they are launching the new gen in 2020 and an N version of it will follow shortly after. I'm not sure about the Kona getting 4WD as there is no available in the current Kona line up, but sinds it's an SUV...it would be fitting. The test mule (currently RM19, but there have been 14, 15 and 16 itterations) is a rear wheel driven mid engine Veloster. An i30 N AWD is in development, but with no plans of commercialising it in this generation.
For those of us who can't quite afford the type r and these are far more readly available. The Civic type r are extremely hard to get here in Covington Louisiana where I live

I’ve battled a lowered golf R in my base model Veloster N stock suspension with no electronic limited slip diff and he was not getting away from me, we were driving in a heavy rainstorm and we both didn’t want to let off but he started braking before I left my comfort zone, Veloster N base model 1, Golf R lowered 0

Well done Hyundai - i own a Golf R and this would be my option if i was going for fWD. Type R Civic is amazing but looks horrible to me. This is more subdued. Seems like they have made a real drivers car here.
Wasn’t for exhaust notes you wouldn’t bother considering a spirited FWD 4 banger shopping trolley for sporty drives. Proper sports cars are either RWD or AWD for good reason.
I have one, and i tell you know its the best car ive ever driven. Yes its very hard ride in N+ Mode but put it in eco its like a normal car sort of speak.
It has controllable lift off oversteer, but you'll have to be more agressive than in the Focus ST to get it to kick the tail out. The limits of the N reach a considerable end further. (I owned a Focus Mk II RS)

I own an i30 N Performance and it does just make you smile, the fact that people have to double look to make sure they just saw a Hyundai its epic. This car has you grinning from ear to ear because its just fun.
Sunaipa LLC I used to always look at 0-60 and other silly factors, but over time I’ve definitely learned to go with cars that make me smile. Tried out a Focus ST the other day and didn’t smile once, mind you it was bloody dangerous underneath (MK2) and then on whim I tried an older Civic Type R and I smiled all the way through, it taught me that numbers aren’t everything; it’s always about that emotional factor in the end. I mean, how often do you launch 0-60? Whereas I’m more likely to absolutely rag it down a backroad/country road. I wholeheartedly agree with your statement

US gets the Veloster N. 200lbs lighter and slightly lower. Car & Driver has it 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

Look at 5:26, can u see the light fail? Look at right front light can u see a mist inside? This FAIL has all front leds from i30... Very good quality.
