I'm a mk4 Focus ST owner but the newer generations of i30N do look great, can see the appeal. I also appreciate referring to the rear of the car as 'the bum'.
Have had mine for a month. Fitted Powerflex Bushes to stop wheelhop and loving it. Will get a 240kw at the wheels tune as soon as the warranty is up but its a hell of a lot of fun stock!
2025 facelift upgrade/update. The gearbox has apparently not been optimized again and the gear changes are not more frequent in the Wet DCT gearbox vs the 2024 model. 🤔
I bought the 2024 sedan 6 speed manual. Ive had a golf, driven a honda civic and a wrx for a long time and can hands down say that i30n is the best car i have ever driven. If your on edge on what to get 100% get the i30n you won't regret it
i hope it’s not the last combustion engine from the ‘N’ Line up , i doubt they’ll sell many of the EV models and will bring back the ICE when sales slump
The plans they had for the i30N successor sounded amazing: 2.5L I4 Smartstream (the one being used in North America, but tuned for higher output) with AWD and a torque vectoring rear diff. I hope they go back to that, because the 2.5L Smartstream is Euro 7 compliant and the only reason they didnt go for that was because of CO2 taxes.
got the opportunity to talk with the N-Brand-Business-Strategy Team from Korea a few months ago. They are all petrolheads. No one there is a big EV fan. So... fingers crossed... that they can make something which fits the stupid regulations any politicians around the world come up with.

Apparently nothing new has been added to the engine (technically or for example: larger more efficient turbocharger, higher boost pressure...), overall weight reduced?.
It's so strange that we are expected to just accept the speed warning alert when it's clearly faulty. What other feature in a car (that can't be disabled by default) would anyone just roll over and accept? It's a faulty feature and Hyundai should be made to address this under warranty from everyone that has one - thats what im doing.
Blame Hyundai for killing off the original regular car sized Ioniq in favor for the Kona crossover suv and the Ioniq5. That original Ioniq both hybrid, PHEV and EV had a very interesting chassis and lots of potential if enough R&D was given, but we're all told that customers (company car owners) want super performance upmarket SUVs instead.
I drive an Ioniq PHEV. It's efficient but kinda trash. I got it new in 2021 and it has left me stranded 8 times, one needing 11 days at the dealer waiting on parts.

I test drove one of these and the Ford Focus ST Mk4. Ended up with the Focus. I thought the Focus had slightly better handling and was quicker around corners. The chassis was a little bit more sorted IMO. I do love this new i30N though. Might get one if I every have enough $$$
@@EllieM91 Well yeah, had to have been. I didn't have anyway of measuring one against the other it was just how it felt to me. The ST was just a bit nicer inside too with more legroom in the back. They are very alike though. I'd be happy with either.
A shame don't sell em new anymore... such a great car. As soon as my wallet allows it I'm buying one again (sold mine because I had a company car, still regret it to this day)
Strange, in the UK I only get the little sign in the corner of the dash but no annoying pings. It also works incredibly well here even recognising temporary limits at road works. Blame might be on your government there.

I got one of the last 2025 models here in Scotland and, to be honest, there’s no great difference (I wouldn’t thank you for the digital PlayStation graphics anyway. It’s all about the drive for me (and maybe a wee bit about the hooligan sound if you want it 😁).
@GuyWersh naah I don't mind about the graphics. The only important part about a car digital system (for me) is: it shall not have a touch screen controlled AC like some brands are doing. That's a deal breaker ahahahahah But it won't be a problem anyways, as unfortunatelly it has already disappeared from the configurator on the Hyundai website. The very few remaining are used ones with quite a bit of km or the steering wheel on the wrong side 🥲 The only available "N" model is the ioniq where the N stands for "NotGonnaBuyOne". Only minimal changes. A few changes aren't even good but contradict with what we loved about the i30N (stay with analog display!). And in addition it's still missing a lot of things we already expected for the 1st facelift (for example where is our Bose sound? Why has i20n waaaay better sound system than i30N 2nd facelift?!?) Well... sadly we won't get it in europe anyways because of our stupid politicians with their bullshit regulations. But i also don't see any point that would make me change my 1st facelift for this 2nd facelift.

see this will end up being a niche product. How many people would pay 50k for a hatchback? It's no longer a mass market product. Hyundai will lose all the market share to the chinese brands now.
@jonttran1092 I am not saying that this is bad, but what I am saying is that, most people used to buy i30 as a cheap and cheerful car, or as their 2nd car, where people don't want to spend more than 30k. And now i30 is no longer meeting that criteria, and so people will go for Suzuki Swift, which is around 30k, or for kia Cerato or for the cheaper options, which are mostly Chinese. Chinese cars could be cheap and crap, but a lot of people don't have or don't want to spend the money to buy this, and don't have any other option but to buy chinese, even if they don't want to. I can get an RAV4 or Corolla Cross or anything equivalent from Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Nissan, VW, etc. below 50k. Imagine that.
But this isn't the standard i30; it's the performance model. Depending on the version you want, you can still buy a standard non-performance i30 for $24k or more.
I was getting ready to buy this car a few months ago, but ultimately ended up with a Golf R... paid $62k plus on-roads for a demo. And while the i30N sounds better, the R will smash it in every performance measure.

I30N and its not even close. GRC is boring and priced too close to a Civic Type R or Golf R. You could get also get a Nissan Z for GRC money.

I own a my24 update sedan. Wheels are the same colour as these. They are satin black not graphite in colour.
They should of given the facelift a tad more power and eliminate the wheel hop.

Welcome to the club, here in Europe the N division production has been only the EV crap for almost a year now.
How nice would this car be if the seats are something like Recaro CS or Sport C fitted?

The ST MK4 comes with a KW suspension from the factory, thats likely the reason it handled better and its also slightly lighter.

I sold mine after 6 weeks because of the speed warning feature. Also don’t like the bucket seats in the premium model.

The pops are a hoot for a while but you can turn them off for urban evening use with no compromise on performance.
