  • Like most truck step bars, AMP Research Powerstep step bars provide an easy step up into your truck. What sets them apart is they automatically retract out of sight when you shut your vehicle's door, providing optimal ground clearance when driving and giving your rig a sleeker appearance.
With this unique retractable design comes unique installation requirements, so we'll show you how to install AMP Research PowerSteps using our 2020 RAM Project. This video covers all the tools you'll need and provides a step-by-step outline of the installation process.
In addition to their retractable design, AMP Research PowerSteps truck steps offer an array of other attractive features. They're made from extruded aluminum with a textured powdercoated finish for slip-resistance and durability. They incorporate high-strength, aluminum alloy linkage arms, which are PTFE coated to resist corrosion, and have weatherproof, OEM-quality motors with weathertight connectors. An integrated LED light system provides additional night-time visibility and delivers an added element of style.

I don't get it. You're show the linkage on driver side but my motor is on the other side of the front linkage. Before u say anything, I didn't screw up. The jogs are pointing the right way. Plus the motor won't clear the new harness relocation, just by an inch or so. Can't get the motor in place at all. Hits the floor if angled up, hit the harness if angled back. Sucks!

I bought my truck used and the front end of these steps was always limp, never retracted up into the truck just always stayed down. Is the motor supposed to be on the front arm??

Motor should be on the back.

How long did it take to Install?

About $300 worth. Or more. I paid to have mine installed and it was a good 6- or 7-hour day for the professionals to complete the job. Worth every dime. (I paid just under $2k (total) to have mine installed and that was almost 5 years ago)

The way you ran the passenger side wire was an absolute sin! I am truly offended for watching such a horrible decision

If you follow this guy, yours will never work. Where's the motor connection? He's showing you the easy parts of the connection and leaves out the nitty gritty motor connection. Granted that AMP Research is one of the easiest, but it's NOT this easy.
