    Looks like I'll be cleaning my MAF sensor; hopefully that clears up a stumble on heavy acceleration...

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It might. The computer has to relearn the clean sensor because it reads differently once it's clean.

    The Mass Airflow Sensor is no joke. I had no idea about it until I replaced my fuel filter, and the engine kept backfiring and surging. I have a 96 Suburban 2500 Vortec 454ci/7.4ltr, and a 2001 with the Vortec 496ci/8.1ltr, and both MAFS are pretty much the same for both wagons.
    Do you know of any place that has complete hose kits for replacements? JEGS?
    I subbed. Can't wait for you to make a video on replacing the fuel pump!

    Matt, like your videos man.. I’ve got an 05 Silverado 2500hd 6.0 5 speed manual, have had a rough idle and 20% engine load at idle quick blip of the throttle it shoots up to at least 50% an higher. New Napa Delphi maf reading good new ac delco upstream o2 sensors and truck is just real laggy but carrying 60 psi fuel pressure on returnless system new Delphi pump as well new iridium ac delco with 41-110 with the white z on the top true ac delco. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks Mike

    I agree with only using Delphi, GM or ACDelco sensors. Aftermarket is nothing but trouble. Sometimes NTK and Denso are good though.

    2004 chevy silverado 1500 4x4. 5.3. Great running truck, but it has a hard shift from 1st to 2nd. Done everything from tranny fluid, filter, throttle position sensor, many other sensors, to mass air flow sensor. Doesn't shift hard when A/C is on in the hot summer temps or when the weather is below zero. Any ideas?

      I got the same truck with the same exact problem. Mine only shifts hard if I baby the throttle, if I step on the pedal and give it some gas no hard shift.

    03 avalanche, those sensors in my truck are still original, but is it wise to still clean them or replace without codes considering the age and never been cleaned?

    • @wesleyclymer7985
      @wesleyclymer7985 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah, if you do it right you can’t hurt anything. I’m sure they are dirty if they haven’t been touched. Especially throttle body and maf.

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's part of a tuneup, but it depends what your mindset is. Some people say if it aint broke don't fix it. Some people want to maintain their truck 100%.

      Yea, but it doesn't have all the little sensors on the throttle body. It's the whole unit.

    Bought my 2006 Sierra Z71 a month ago. Having issues with it running lean, LTFT -8 to -14, STFT is +/- 5. When i got it it was always -20 in long term. Had an EVAP control circuit code(P0449) and intermittent MAF performance code P0101. Changed the purge solenoid on the engine, EVAP code still present. Cleaned MAF, no change and still intermittent P0101. Changed MAF and no get values stated previously, so better but still not right. I bought a Delphi MAF, do you think this is why i still have negative fuel trims by not going with GM genuine? I havent had another P0101 code since changing the MAF but it still isnt right. Waiting on the EVAP vent valve and relocating kit, hopefully that clears my P0449 code this time. Bought this Sierra with 110,000 miles and it drove great on the test drive, had just the P0449 code. Ive since had to replace quite a few small parts and rebuild the transmission, and i just learned about the castec 709 head cracking issue and of course my trucks heads are stamped 709. I also have a 2000 silverado 2wd with 270k on it and its basically all original. Shackles, u joints that kinda stuff. Figured id get a much newer one with 4WD and be set for a decade, doesnt look like thats going to be the case.

    Nice. How do you feel about the pedal position sensor? I know it rare they malfunction.

    • @MattsShop

      That's for DBW they rarely go bad.

    Do you have a video how to drop the transmission.

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No I don't have a video on that. The hardest bolts are the ones that connect the transmission to the engine.

    • @M4sterT3ch
      @M4sterT3ch 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Get a 36" to 48" extension and a swivel 15mm and 13mm sockets. Transmissions on these are a cake walk to drop. Especially if 2wd. You'll also need to take a heat gun to the connectors on the PRNDL cause they glued them in. Have to heat up and soften the glue to remove.

    Repled all these sensors and still have a po300 code , also fuel injectors. This is a 2000 5.3 not a fan of this " technology " .

    • @randomabyss0187
      @randomabyss0187 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      po300 is random or misfiring on multiple cylinders. Replacing sensors ain’t gonna fix that.
