ZX1 the best lube I,ve ever used but I don't use it on a new build as it will take a long time to bed in I run a engine with no oil in it and it kept running.
Thanks for your video, man! really useful since its my first time trying this. did you made a second part of this?? cuz i couldn find it in your other videos. NIce work btw. thanks again!
How did you get the piston in the cylinder? In a car you'd go in from the top and use a compressor. I'm assuming the bottom of the cylinder is tapered?
The problem with that is the top ring has a tendency to get snagged have hard time going in after the middle ring, so all 3 as a whole makes it ten times easier to install
@@Cheaphorsepower Its different...we all do what works for us I suppose..I'm defo gonna give your way a try next time .which will be soon see how it works for me 😉
If you put one at a time the two thin oil rings will be behind the little notches on the wavy oil ring That hold the rings in place. The little notches on the wavy oil ring are designed to be behind the two thin oil rings and hold them in place?
It's a good video . But the part were he is talking about putting all three oil rings together is not the best way to do it . The proper way is to put the wavy Oil ring in first because it has seats that hold the upper and lower oil rings In place . Now you put the lower one in then the upper one in other wise The rings can get jammed behind or on top of the containment seats on the wavy oiling ring? Other wise Then the piston will have trouble going in to the cylinder or snag the cylinder walls.
No and here’s why, when you do that it’s really hard to get the third ring it, then finally I maybe didn’t mention this but I always squeeze all the way around like you see me doing in the video to ensure there is good movement and nothing is binding up. Either way this is just the easiest way I’ve found to do it. If you prefer the other way great, they both work the same.
@@Cheaphorsepower which hole on the case or cylinder does the dowel pin go that is different from the other three three are the same and one is littler wider on one end ?
Less valve clearance. The dimples are shaped to allow some wiggle room so the piston doesn’t hit them. But I’ve heard of a bunch of people running them without and issue so maybe you’ll be fine
DO NOT line up any of your piston ring gaps at all they should all be staggered so oil cant go straight through the openings!!!!!!!! Good video but that's crucial
This video helped so much for the piston rings. Not one other video on TH-cam walked you thru like this guy did
Dude that means the world seriously thank you
I've watched a lot videos on these engine rebuilds. You by far give most detail appreciate it

How did you get your piston to sit flush when you put the cylinder on ?
Great video can post link where you got the parts from please
Thank you 🙏
I have a Appallo 125 I'd like to up the ccs what's the best thing to do price size also

Yes and you squeeze the the piston rings with your fingers
Put the oil rings from the bottom up 1at a time 😱💯🍻

Where does the one dowel pin that is wide at one end go ? I'm doing a rebuild but never ran into this before??
You mean the rubber and metal circle or the dowel pins for the studs?
@@Cheaphorsepower the dowel pins for the studs. There is one of them that is like little bigger on one end ?

What if you put the piston upside down? Lol I my piston says “ni” instead of “in” because I put it upside down and do not want to go back and flip it?
Less valve clearance. The dimples are shaped to allow some wiggle room so the piston doesn’t hit them. But I’ve heard of a bunch of people running them without and issue so maybe you’ll be fine
@@Cheaphorsepower thanks for the fast reply, do you think it’s worth it to go back and flip it?
It's the peice at 5:03 I rewatched the video closely haha!
Lol ok good cool
Do 50cc head and cylinder install in 70cc injan.
I think they would idk about the stroke though it’s worth testing before hand. Spin the motor over by hand and double check your clearances

I thought I mentioned that but thanks man exactly that’s why you always stagger it
Whats the link?
The link to what?
Overhaul kit.. I have c70 ... Can modify it for better performance..or just keep it stock ... Can you provide parts link ...
No oil on the parts while you are putting it together? Feel like thats a recipe for disaster...
Not really,I’ve rebuilt a ton of these an never had an issue
