Well done video. My Chinese engine (Tao) had a mark and letters on the timing gear, but they were together and not opposite each other. A good thing to know is the valves will be closed at top dead center (TDC), so that's how I knew whether they should point toward the notch on the front of the head, or the two prongs on the back of the head. For mine, the dot and letters pointed towards the valve side where there was a small "V" notch in the head.

hay hopefully your still answering questions... but my Lifan looks nothing like this.. i have a silly off brand "konker" i need to do timing job on it..
I have a problem with 1 of the 4 long cylinder bolts , without having removed the upper and lower cylinder, I think it is slightly stripped where the rod goes into the casing. After tightening the nut, it only takes a little torque to cause it to turn around and become loose again. This is causing oil to seep out of the top of the cylinder, around the rod and loose nut. I tried using Heavy Duty, Oil resistant Marine JB Weld seemed to work for a little but then eventually cracked. Any ideas? Or do I need to replace the casing or can these things be re threaded? Thanks for any advice!

Not going to lie that timing looked one tooth off it's so much easier to just pull the chain through put the cog in use your finger to run the chain around the cog and adjust your timing that way so much quicker & doesn't matter if it's out or not as easy enough to change that way not mocking your video good explanation on timing ECT just some advice from a professional mechanic may help you or anyone watching keep your videos coming top guy on explaining what's what within a engine

That's actually a good idea mate I know a few mechanics that also do it with tensioner already in as well just so they know it's spot on I find that way the hardest though as your cog pulls to much into side casing so if it is out good luck to you trying to sort it out not for the fat fingered people anyway 🤣

Kendricks Hayes Jr you could but it would be extremely slow, usually these motors have barely any HP.
they have power but not compared to the 660 or the 700. the 660 aren't good for doing wheelies it wont pump oil right and lock it up
I have a engine like this not lifan but china 72cc. I have a question. Are this engine ok? Can i travel 20.000 miles before a major failure?
hay hopefully your still answering questions... but my Lifan looks nothing like this.. i have a silly off brand "konker" i need to do timing job on it..
Then it might not be a 125cc.
Can these engines be modified/upgraded to run faster?
Does the casting move freely by hand? Mine gets tougher to turn every half turn and my new starter won't crank
Do u know what the valve clearance is supposed to be?? Killer video bro thank u much
Helped me out thanks!
can the reverse gear system fit into standard kick start cases?
Good video.
Exceptional video
I have a problem with 1 of the 4 long cylinder bolts , without having removed the upper and lower cylinder, I think it is slightly stripped where the rod goes into the casing. After tightening the nut, it only takes a little torque to cause it to turn around and become loose again. This is causing oil to seep out of the top of the cylinder, around the rod and loose nut. I tried using Heavy Duty, Oil resistant Marine JB Weld seemed to work for a little but then eventually cracked. Any ideas? Or do I need to replace the casing or can these things be re threaded? Thanks for any advice!
Great video
Can the oil box cover be removed if it’s still in the bike frame
never tried. as long as you have clearance i dont see why not
Got a question I have a 110cc go kart what could be causing the motor to have a knocking sound to it? Thanks and very helpful video!!
Is there oil in it
Yes there is oil in it
Matt Gunther
Have you changed the oil and looked for metal? If it’s a knock it’s usually a rod bearing that’s junk
It’s smokes while running. I planned on changing rings out but was wondering where the knocking maybe coming from
Matt Gunther when you open it for rings if the rod moves any way but smoothly around the crank it’s bad
hey Joey I got a question for you I own a 200cc Roketa 2006 when I take the cover off where the flywheel and stator sit is there supposed to be oil in there because I have looked it up and I have not found anything plus I bought a new wire harness and stator it's Sparks and then it doesn't Spark I'm wondering the oil that is on the flywheel is killing the spark
Hi, your video helped a lot, thanks.
I want to know how all wires have to connect, some wires are completely torn off.
I got that engine with wires, I do not know what's going on there, all the wires are confused.
I'll have to pervade all cables, but I do not know how the wires connect correctly.
Who can help with what ?
Not going to lie that timing looked one tooth off it's so much easier to just pull the chain through put the cog in use your finger to run the chain around the cog and adjust your timing that way so much quicker & doesn't matter if it's out or not as easy enough to change that way not mocking your video good explanation on timing ECT just some advice from a professional mechanic may help you or anyone watching keep your videos coming top guy on explaining what's what within a engine
It wasn't. Just the angle
@@unprofessionaljoe7233 was it spot yeah you got a good eye then I must say lol as Everytime I tried it this way it's slightly out like I say mate wasn't mocking your video just some advice if it helps in future obviously everyone has different ways of doing things but good video on explaining timing as alot out there just show you the basics like I say keep your videos coming mate
@@liamwilliams9610 I like to tension the chain with my fingers or a pick and I normally mark it with a paint marker and ensure I keep tension on it. I didn't do that in this video because just to much of a pain in the ass
That's actually a good idea mate I know a few mechanics that also do it with tensioner already in as well just so they know it's spot on I find that way the hardest though as your cog pulls to much into side casing so if it is out good luck to you trying to sort it out not for the fat fingered people anyway 🤣
@@unprofessionaljoe7233 I definitely might give this ago on next rebuild though mate nice one
hey how much harder is it to take the left side middle case off (the section with the vent tube coming out or it). my bolt broke them cheap Chinese bolts and the flange cracked that part of the case I want to replace it cuzz the engine runs great
JB welded the crack. worked for mine just fine
really ,I tried using that clay steel stuff it gets hard when u mix it but that didn't work. but I'll try the jb weld
Joeybatts Batts Do you think a Yamaha raptor 50cc engine could be replaced with the raptor 80cc engine or a Chinese 110cc engine?
+MoBiN_3M car meets and hang out if the engine casing was broken it can be welded by gas weld.
What kind of gasket kit should I get for a engine like this
you should turn the music up a little more
thank you mr. president
What type of oil should I use for this engine 10w 40 or 15W40?
10/40 but I use synthetic
Use Diesel engine oil that’s high in zinc 15/40
What's the spring and rod for my kids 110cc atv motor dident have one when I took it apart do I need it ?
