      I did think of that after I uploaded it, but then thought there are only 4 buttons on the QuickShot menu, so I'm sure you guys will be fine. I generally just wanted to show off what the shots actually look like. Trying them in manual is almost impossible, good thing we have those options. Thanks!

      That is a good choice! 3 batteries goes a long way with this guy! I usually use 1 in an area, then drive further, charge that one in the car and use the next and that's basically how I road trip. You're welcome, happy to help have fun with it and let me know how you like it!

    A really informative tutorial for a novice like me - along with your others on the Mini 2 - so thanks. What is the 1/80 rule?

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank You! The 180 degree rule is all about motion blur, so it looks natural like it does in motion pictures films. If you have a frame rate set of 25fps then you need to set your shutter speed at 1/50, so basically twice the frame rate. This will be in line with the 180 degree rule and your video will have natural motion blur, otherwise if it's say 25fps and 1/200 then everything will be over-sharpened and jittery.

    Obviously i could try it myself tomorrow when or if the weather is good but i wonder if it would make any difference if the remote is in cinemode, normal or sport.. i mean, the quick shot option 'rocket' would be really rocket in sportsmode hahaha ?
    In what mode did you shoot this ? Or isnt t an option at all and is it fully customized and set

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe these options all have to be done in normal mode and when the drone is in the air, that's the only way it's accessible. It would be cool if we could change the speed, but it's all pre-programmed to some degree.

  • @SastraWerk

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will automatically stop if you touch the controls, that's true. It needs to finish filming all the way to 100% for it to complete the quickshot.

      No problem, let me help.
      1. The video linked at 00:40 That should help you set it up.
      2. ISO is your sensors sensitivity to light, set it low to have the best quality image without grain.
      3. That's just me setting up the shot
      4. 180 angle rule states that your shutter speed should be twice that of your frame rate for smooth natural motion blur (25fps x2 = 1/50th shutter speed).
      5. I agree with you 200%. I drove there, phone memory full, it didn't want to record the screen, damn me for buying the 64gb model, stupid stupid stupid. A mistake I learnt from. Mind you I'm surprised I didn't get more thumbs down for that.

    Is it possible to “record” quick shots? I have used all the quick shots, and can’t seem to record them. While it’s nice to watch the quick shots as they’re happening, it’s sort of pointless if they can’t be recorded. really good help here. Question please; when my mini 2 arrived (now just about 1 week) it was set up in meters, so I changed to feet. BUT.... when out in the location, I then set greater than 100 feet (400 feet in UK is max) a message pops up telling me max is 400 feet and that I am intending to exceed this height. Another point is, I really only want to fly 100 - 200 feet otherwise I am unable to actually see it. Any ideas how to change to feet and increase intended max height ( above 100 feet)??????

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is odd. I always fly in meters, I basically set height and distance to max, so 500m and infinity distance. You can cap it, so height should in theory be set to 100ft and then it shouldn't fly any higher. I don't like doing this just in case there is other air traffic and I need to fly high fast as dropping is way to slow. I always have it set to 500m height, but I rarely fly above 100m as the view up there starts to get a little boring. If I were in your shoes I'd set it to max and just keep an eye on the height as you fly, that's how I roll.

    • @jamesss1953
      @jamesss1953 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhillipSkraba I agree its an oddity. Just this year the UK laws changed (as you probably know) to only fly a drone at a max height of 400 feet (121 meters) and the drone must always be visible to the naked eye. Apparently aeroplanes are not meant to fly lower than 500 feet - I’m sure on occasions they do. It almost looks like when I change from meters to feet the drone system is still working in meters. This is easy to work around, but strange considering its quite a clever little beast. Any way ...... thanks for the quick response and I look forwards to more from you with regards mini 2 ........ I am now waiting for reasonable weather to get back out again to try out these modes of flight for myself. I have to walk some 4 miles to the nearest appropriate location to do this due to my geographical location and land formations ..... thanks again :)

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamesss1953 That is very odd indeed. Yes, UK laws are pretty similar to our EU laws here now. I do what I can to adhere to all of them when I can. Planes here sometimes fly so low they give me a heart attack, so beware of them. Have fun with it and be careful.

      I believe that's the subtitle option, that's just a guess though. Give it a try, I don't have my drone with me right now.

      It’s possible this is a built in feature you can’t turn off, as now that I think about it my Mavic 2 Pro has the same titles on each of the automated shots.

    When you use the boomerang quick shot or whatever quick shot circles around. Is it possible to abort the quick? If so, what happens?.
    The reason I ask. I do a lot of camping on rocky water edge with some large trees around. I would like to get some cool shots of the campsite where the drone will ascend in a circular motion with out doing the full circle

      Sure, there is a cancel button I've had to press a few times myself, it stops the drone almost instantly. It's better to be safe then sorry though and do this without any obstacles around you.

      While performing a quick shot if you adjust anything on the controller such as make the drone go higher the quickshot stops and the drone hovers in place. at least it did for me.

    • @PhillipSkraba

      Yes, it’ll stop the quickshot, it’s a shame we can’t control it in any way.

      If you need quickshots, basically don’t fly a drone, you’ll ruin it for all of us.

      Yeah, got to the place I remember, saw my phone, full storage, *facepalm. It's pretty simple though, find your subject, press what quick shot you want and away you go, not much more to it, just check the surroundings so it doesn't crash into anything.
