This guy should have his own TV show. I couldn't help but think... he's like an old friend you'd go bar hopping with, lol. This is the first instructional video I've seen on any topic that was truly informative AND entertaining and where the person's personality comes across as genuine and naturally hilarious. Great job! I subscribed and look forward to seeing other informative and fun videos.

2.4 ghz is for both distance and ''penetration''; 5.8ghz is for high interference environment since most devices are 2.4ghz based

WRONG! Actually, the higher the frequency, the better the penetration! Just ask any HAM operators, they can tell you! :-)

Just picked my mini up yesterday. Can’t wait to fly it. I Was on the fence about buying until I watched your videos (especially the one flying around bass pro). Just like my phantom, I did a lot of research about the mini before deciding to go for it and your videos have been a huge part of that research. So thanks Ken!!

I watched this the day my Mini 2 arrived, and now, a good 200 flights and 400km later, watched it again and learned just as much as the first time. If you're new to the Mini 2, bookmark this to revisit again later. You'll be glad you did. Thanks for the education Ken.

Great video Ken, and great sense of humor to uplift people. Mini 2 having the remote id on board.. what happens when remote id is implemented? Would it apply to mini 2, and maybe automatically would turn on! The Mini 1 does not have this feature so you would have more freedom!

if you fly it near the border safefllyzone going to airport or military zone, it will not move that way, it will stop midair and all you can do is land or go back/left/right but not forward in the said zones. its automatic i like that :) saves you from trouble

I realize that you did this video 2 years ago, however, I purchased my mini 2 back in January 2023 and it doesn't have the remote identification tab as you describe. I'm using an Android phone if ( I don't know) that makes a difference or it might be built in with the firmware. Do you have any info on this? Also, beings (as of now) I'm considered a recreational flyer, I am looking into what is exactly required for the P. 107. I just think it's a good idea just to have it, even though I'm not considering making money with it. I figured it might create less of a hassle and if I'm questioned by anyone. Thanks in advance, Jamie in SC.

    2. When I am on a kayak, I kayaked from point A to point B with the drone flying around me. Can I update the RTH location (which is point B) while the drone is flying?

Ken I've just subscribed as I've watched a lot of your vids and find them informative and entertaining (I hope this was what you were going for!) I have just recently purchased the Mini 2 and am learning a lot of things from you about what I can do with the drone itself and how to use it. I'm UK based so the rules and regulations are a lot different from the good ol' US of A and I will be taking the relevant courses required to allow me to use the drone for commercial use maybe, when I get qualified I will probably step up to a Mavic or Phantom for work and keep the mini as a back up option and for fun use with the family etc. (once we are of course allowed to travel again post Covid!)]
I'm finding the Mini 2 a great little learning tool and have taken a few flights around the house to practice (inside and out) and even though I have managed to crash it a couple of time, D'oh, it really does take the knocks and flies with damaged props, although it does sound a bit different - great hint about replacing the props it would have taken me ages to figure that out!!!
Keep up the good work and I might even binge watch your whole back catalogue one evening.

Interesting story about a drone. I won’t drone on too long, pun intended 🤣. I’m a trawler fisherman, I live on the Isle of Wight In Cowes. During Cowes week some yacht racers lost their drone in the water,,,,, I’m guessing they were trying to follow their yacht with it then plop🤦‍♂️. Anyway, we were trawling along, net up time, oh look a drone! Took it home, popped sd card in pc. Saw their footage, saw yacht name, found out where the yacht moors, contacted harbour. They contacted owner with my phone number. Owner called me. Sent drone back to them ( completely dead of course from saltwater..). But they got it back 👍🤣

There are strobe light options that keep you drone under 250g. Important to me because if it goes over, then I can't fly anywhere in the city. But, for example, there's a huge sports complex right across the street from me with multiple soccer and baseball fields, which are often empty during the day and are great places to practice.

I went for the Air2 and am completely happy with it. If money is not an issue I think the Air2 has quite a bit more to offer, is more robust, has partial obstacle avoidance, better camera and flies well even in moderate to strong wind. I have not used my Spark ever since the upgrade. Good luck and happy flying!

Since the flashing could be useful to find the drone, is it actually visible since the lite is under the body of the drone, not on top? Thanks-fantastic tips, the best I've seen.

If you are using your drone for TH-cam videos you are required to be part 107 licensed. The drone of any Weight has to be registered. To fly at night the drone needs special anti collision lights. Aka super bright LEDs. To fly at night you have to have a faa waiver.
