  • Being in the morning and evening sunlight and being in the green places should be an important part of life. Let's see why.

I lived in my vehicle for 6 years. When I got housed, the first thing that really bothered me was the lack of exposure to the elements. I missed the light, the smell of the air, the weather, watching the birds, as well as daily interactions with people. I remember measuring my time in daylight and seasons rather than hours and day. Indoors is so toxic with stagnant air full of trapped toxins and artificial light, staring at screens. The ironic thing in American culture is that it is illegal to live outdoors, but we talk about being "green" all the time. We're totally disconnected from nature and reliant on a synthetic environment, but we wonder why we're all fat and sick and mentally ill. It's not actually rocket science, but you don't know you're living in an artificially engineered lifestyle until you get outside of it. The two things that really broke me down living outdoors was the freezing cold of winter (which wouldn't be as bad a thing if I could've made a fire in a camp), and the police and societal harassment. If you attempt to ACTUALLY live green, you get crushed.

Awesome presentation. I find it very interesting. People think I'm crazy but I prefer oil lamps to regular lighting and I live off grid spending time outside in the mornings and evenings avoiding afternoon sun because of SLE extreme photo sensitivities. I also use and prefer wood heat over propane, gas or electric heat. I also get extremely tired if I get to much screen time. Now I can understand why I feel so much better than when I had all the creature comforts😉

Excellent, excellent lecture. Enjoyed this tremendously. I’ve been a lifelong proponent of going out into nature seeing as I’ve lived all my life on the equator in Kenya, East Africa and camp in the wilds of our beautiful country here at least one week out of every month for 40 years + now. Keep up all this great work you are doing. This presentation you’ve made, Dr Syed, flows so, so smoothly it’s at every turn like smoothly rocking myself through a lullaby!

That certainly explains the increasing amounts of skin cancer that exploded in the last 30 years we have been using sunscreens.

Hello, how much of this light can penetrate clothing or do we always have to be outside without much clothing on?

I am troubled by your references to the benefits of plant oils in the context of infra red light reflection from green surfaces. I assume you are not referring to the benefits of eating vegetable oils as the consumption of these oils interferes in the production of cholesterol sulphate.

nope. or : nope, not yet. LED = light emitting diode can be made to produce almost any kind of wavelength. The reason that they are not doing that so far is that the NIR stuff is pretty new.
Thus there are companies selling NIR panels (60*150 cm) for around 4..6000$ ...

never thought of you as being dishonest. I pointed out the errors in your presentation and instead of fixing them or correcting me with evidence, you just deleted my comment. shame on you. I also referenced my comments by dr Reiter who is the world expert on melatonin.
