  • Berberine has many important mechanisms. In the current series of talks we are presenting the mechanisms related to the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. In the current talk we look at the high level mechanism of how Berberine helps increase the insulin secretion.
    Note: cell's depolarization process is intentionally skipped to keep the focus on the potassium channels.

    Thank you so much. I have listed to so many other lectures and yours is the first that helped me to truly understand how Berberine works as I am prediabetic

    thank you doctor Sayed! ..and our pal Paul :)
    i' have renewed interest in berberine since my wife's cancer. hope there's more info on 'more insulin release' when insulin is anabolic vs decreased Warburg effect of glucose fueling cancer growth.
    the surgeon and anesthesiologist had her stop berberine, made sense. but now i need to learn more. most good studies were out of china when i started researching it years ago.

      You would need to look into this and see if its suitable or something your wife would consider, but may be try methylene blue. Always research interactions with current medications though!

    I have MCAS, with many sensitivities to things, and Berberine is now an addition to my list. It caused flushing, brain fog.

    • @billytheweasel
      @billytheweasel ปีที่แล้ว

      were you able to isolate it or did it occur when you added it and that was the only change?

    • @drsethsr
      @drsethsr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billytheweasel It was only change. I even broke open a 1000mg capsule and maybe tried 200mg, and still flared.

      Me too. I had major brain fog, dizziness, gas, bloating, nausea. I was only on 200mg. One time a day. I took it with a large meal.
      My BS was not greatly changed on it. I could only do three days. Pretty bad.

    Thank you so much. With that mechanism I’m thinking the dose can be pre, post or during a meal. Is this correct.

    what effect will 660nm and 850nm have? many light panels sell with these levels.
