    Don’t be afraid to twist n go a test instructor wants to see the confidence obviously within speed limit but don’t hang around basically get away from them metal boxes that are sat up your chuff maintain a dominant position don’t hug the curbs ,, and don’t dwell on any negatives to your ride your allowed faults as long as they not dangerous concentrate on what your doing not what you’ve done ...and good luck 😉

    Good advice - especially about eating something. I passed Mod2 this week on the second attempt at a test centre 60 miles away from the school. First attempt was way too soon after i scraped through Mod 1 (2 minors). Failed for basic lack of control on the road, stalled twice turning right which on reflection was fair enough. So booked two more half day lessons and took the first appointment the school had at the unnamed centre two counties away! A long 90 minute ride on mostly single lane roads pretty well wiped me out. The instructor insisted on a decent cafe break really picked me up and as Rob says in this video, the examiner was at pains to put me at ease. First message as we left the test centre was 'I know you dont know the area, you're joining a 40...' and everything subsequnt to that was friendly and relaxed - he did give me a few minors mind you ;-) So reccommend you eat, drink, breathe deep and try to relax - good luck

    Good tips, lockdowns permitting I'm due to start my DAS in a few months. I remember on my car practical test when the instructor asked me to pull over almost right out of the carpark thinking exactly "Oh what have I done wrong". I'd forgotten about that until you mentioned it and I'll keep it in mind when I (if I) get to do my own Mod 2.
    Great video, thanks!

    It's definitely worthwhile asking any questions before the test starts, I recently passed my Mod 2 test and before the test began when the examiner said "if we get separated just find the nearest safe place to pull in to the side of the road" and so I asked if I could even pull up on double yellow lines if I had to and the examiner said yes if I am still safe and visible to other drivers. It turns out in my test whilst going through a town centre, I got though some traffic lights and the examiner didn't so I had to pull up to the side of the road on some double yellows. However if I didn't ask that question first, I probably would have thought I shouldn't stop on double yellows and carried on, possibly riding too far and failing my test

    Great advice Rob, even though i passed last year i still watch your videos. My first Mod2 i had a two hour one to one lesson with my instructor before the test then it was straight to the test centre and out for test, i failed, second attempt there was another learner, due to test times we had about an hours lesson then to the test centre, the other guy was out first (he failed) so i could sit in the centre for 40 minutes chatting to my instructor, was a lot more relaxed for the test and passed, the chill out time before the test made a huge difference.

    Took the advice given and had good breakfast and tried the banana before i left lol thought i lost the motorcycle keys right at the start but eventually found them in my pocket lmao tbh MOD 2 test itself was fine and didn't feel that nervous either as examiner i had seemed a good bloke (drew ) from Worcester test centre and only felt like 10 minutes ride but near the end picked up 2 minors for undue hesitation and control as thought forgot to indicate then thought i forgot lifesaver even though i did lmao
    Didn't think I'd pass before taking test so was great to hear I'd passed and did feel like I'd passed tbh as felt good during test

    My instructor doesn't sfu. He's even sometimes rushes me and makes me feel rushed and uncomfortable, especially coming up to round abouts. Sometimes I slow down and he's says too soon youl get reared or someone will pass you. My own safety IMO is more important than his instruction becuase sometimes I'm literally coming to a roundabout at 30mph and quickly doing mirrors, assessing the gears and front rear breaks. All rushed.
    Also if I'm turning letf on a roundabout and I give a quick glacé to my right for my own peice of mind he bollocks me for it and says in extra check that's not necessarily needed. Am I in the wrong

    • @RJHMotorbikeTraining
      @RJHMotorbikeTraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well you need to be able to openly discuss this with your Instructor and mutual agree to move forwards.

    The slings and arrows were out! Why do drivers do silly things when your on a test? The good news got through with 3 minors. Two were for not indicating but it didn’t effect anybody 😀

    morning test .. never feel like eating i will now i failed again today 3rd time.. instructor says i know how to ride and i have made silly judgment call here. again..
    serious fault of going over roundabout when i should have turned left ! think it would have been ok had i not had to then jump a lane lets say to get back around i think he was saying which makes sense now due to road lay out . also 1 minor today.. last time 2 minor 1 serious ..
    i will be eating next time thank you ! I think it must be nerves i cant seem to settle them I've spent so much on training .. too.. I'm Southampton i know my trainer is a good trainer he passes alot.
    just bit miffed and i guess IL just keep on practicing? and watching these videos maybe it would be a good idea to get road lay out as i am very new to the area? ive been on a 125 for about 8 years now prob half the issue to begin with .

    I just passed my MOD2 recently, he pulled me 1 minor fault as we came out of test centre on right turn, saying i delayed, but i know the road well (by costco) and it is ridiculously busy if you pull out and cause them to slow you are fucked, and if you wait you are fucked, he gave me another point on the approach to a roundabout, pushbike on entrance to the right and he said i should have just pulled out, it is a fucking farce, i have driven over 1million miles in a car (i know its not the same) but have seen the worst/best of drivers over the years, not sure the test is a fair representation of driving normally.

    All this is a far cry to when I rode a test...just the one, not multiple....no instructor, read Highway Code and learn on the job so's to speak..Unfortunately the injury/death toll was high during that time. A few road safety films were televised from the sixties into the eighties, some aimed primarily at car drivers...'Think Bike' for instance. I've been riding a motorcycle for getting on sixty years, never get bored when I'm on one. My reactions are nowhere near as fast as they once were so I act accordingly... The only advice I can give is ..Treat all Cagers ( Car Drivers) as possible assassins most especially at roundabouts and junctions. Its not as bad as it sounds, just stay observant ...Greeting from España...Motorcyclists, the last of the free spirits..
