Another Remedy: put a little oil in a small pan with a few red peppers_ turn the heat on medium high_ when the peppers start to roast inhale the smoke through your mouth & nostrils, and hold breath a few seconds b4 exhailing_ repeat again, if necessary

I have lived in the South for 30 years and I have never been told about a neti pot. And have suffered sinus infections etcetera due to the high pollen. I went to Oregon and had a CT done, the doctor said your sinuses are rock hard as if you had pond scum. The neti pot is helping me. Better than a bunch of a tibotics wnd still not clearing the nasal passages and sinuses

@@DrJoshJagoda I had a bit of a raging sinus infection back in April 2024 with blood in both nostrils, my right one mostly. My right eye was weeping for 2 to 3 weeks. I used the neti pot and it helped tremendously. I boil bottled water with salt in it for about 5 minutes, let it cool, then put it in the pot and douse away. One must be careful with the water! I would never boil tap water because it is not worth the risk.

Never wanted to do this because of a 1000 ways to die episode plus hating getting water in my nose, and while I'd still prefer if there was a steaming neti pot I'm a lot more comfortable doing it now, thank you.

Hahahh I didn't know they had a way to go via this method. I don't think anyone really loves it but the relief you often get (at least that I find) is worth it.

@@DrJoshJagoda if I remember correctly it was a germaphobe who didn't properly purify the water and got a sinus infection that ended up killing him. I know they aren't fully true but I did read that using improper water repeatedly does actually cause horrible damage and, while it's rare to kill someone it's still very bad.

As much as you need but always use the saline packets. No tap water. Don't force it. Don't blow hard to clear the water. After a wash but before you blow, let the solution sit a little, as it will do a better job of softening the thick mucus. Warm as you can, but never hot. Never cold. Wish I knew more to help you. I've been using neti for about 12 years. This year it has helped me during bronchitis. I have managed to keep the fever under 100.1 and I have continued good breath and only have sore throat occurring in the morning untill I use the pot. It's as if the pot is cleaning out what is causing the problem instead of that the sore throat is the problem. Hope you get what I'm saying. Hope this helps. I had no one who even heard of a neti much less what it was. I got mine in an abandoned house or a yard sale. Can't remember which. Lol😊
