It's so crazy how one area can affect your whole body. I've been wanting to use a Neti Pot but was always nervous. Thanks for showing us how to use it.
I’m currently using the Neti Pot because I have Covid, I’ve been using one bottle full 3 times a day to flush out my sinuses it’s really helping with the post nasal drip which has been causing an annoying hacking cough. Between the Neti Pot and gargling with distilled salt water I feel much better.
@@hanoofalajmi23You need to do sutra neti to unblock the passage. You must be very careful insert the rubber very slowly and over a period of weeks little by little if necessary. You may get some blood out of the nostril initially but it will stop after you do it 4- 5 times.
Thank you for demo. Coincidentally, I bought this kit the other day and have a suggestion: go slowly. The first time I tried it I squeezed the bottle too hard which led to pressure and discomfort so it took me a couple of days to try again. The second time I decided to go slowly, easing the water in and it worked much better, I used more water and had no discomfort. BTW, five minutes later I unexpectedly had some drops run down from my nose that hadn't drained so keep some Kleenex handy.
I am a yogi, also a yoga instructor, and am suffering terribly from allergies this spring. East Tennessee is terrible for high pollen levels. I take allergy shots, which have helped tremendously, until now. What you said about the link between sinus inflammation with pain, fatigue and depression are spot on. I have been so tired, achy and unhappy since the flare-up. I’ve heard that a neti pot is helpful. I will be heading to the drug store tomorrow and trying. Thanks for sharing your time and talent to demonstrate the proper use. It’s very helpful and appreciated.
If you truly have allergies, washing your nose out only works for about 2 minutes until you get back outside and your mucous membranes are exposed to the pollen again. That sets off a chain reaction on a cellular level and the problem comes right back. This will be essentially useless for you.
I've used this brand of nedipot kit as recommended by my pulmonologist. What a difference after I used it! I thought I was breathing completely before using it but I wasn't! I felt like I was given a new sinus cavity after rising for the first time! I've had lifelong sinus issues and have had reduction of problems since I have been rinsing them. Your video was so informative and gave such easy instructions. Thank you so much!!
Good video. I share it with those new to a Neti pot. I've been doing it regularly since 2007. Can't imagine my life without it. I especially used it rather aggressively when I had colds. Helps tremendously with the symptoms. Also great for low humidity environments and during high allergens. I'll use it until the day I die.
Thanks for sharing! It is so helpful for colds, allergies, and research suggests that it reduces the risk of corona viruses and lessens the symptom! Now is a great time to start.
Hi Ann - I’m in your Tai Chi class for arthritic seniors. I had sinus surgery a few years ago to correct a breathing problem. Dr recommended the Neil Med wash. I’ve been using it daily for a few years now and it really helps my breathing. Nasal passages stay clear and moist and I breath much more freely.
I just had sinus surgery and my doctor recommended I do this every day 2x a day. It definitely feels like a burden. I'm gonna try to tough it out as long as I can. Definitely feels like your refreshed after doing the flush
I'm addicted. At night I use a warmer solution and that de-stress and relaxes. For reference, I use a neti pot. Don't blow your nose to hard. I would be even more careful because you might irritate post-op healing.
Nice video. Many of my patients have benefited from nasal irrigation. Saline irrigation can also be performed with a medial irrigation rinse that can contain topical antibiotics. This is prescribed by otolaryngologists frequently with patients that have long term sinus issues.
They finally sent me to an ENT doctor and after the Prednisone shrunk my nasal polyps I’m adding Budesonide 0.5 mg/ 2mL to my nasal rinse. After 4-5 yrs I was able to breathe out of my nose again but it was short lived. I can see the polyp with a pen light. Hopefully there’s something else besides surgery.
Putting things in my nose really weirds me out for some reason but I understand how beneficial this can be. Do you have any tips to get over the fear of using a neti pot?

I have a neti pot but never used it. I know crazy to have it and not use it. I was just scared but this video helped answer all my questions. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve used it when my sinuses flair up. But you apply it differently. I squeeze the bottle hard and it shoots a water jet up my nose to rinse everything out. Doesn’t hurt but your eyes will water up quite a bit while it’s blowing solution out the other nostril. Seems to work pretty good.
I’m very happy I found this channel. I just ordered my Neti pot and salt solution on Amazon now and will be coming back to this video and doing everything verbatim.
This helps so much especially during winter times when my nose gets all stuffy. I also use to use it before running to help boost the breathing during performance. It's awesome! 😍 Nice video!

Yes, I have. First time today, infact. What prompted me to buy one was the fact that I was having a uncontrollable allergy fit in a Walmart just down the street from my house. At times I can barely see when my allergies are the worst. I think you call it hay fever. I quickly dashed for a Neti pot & headed home. Ran, what you call two bottles through each nostril. I have the blue one that looks like a genie's lamp. My sinus cavity seems clearer & free of all those itchy things that make my eyes water and nose run. For a little break, at least. Still feels congested. Good to know you can do it multiple times a day. I hope this will help turn some things around with these alergie fits that I have.
I have used the Neti Bottle but only when I’ve been down with a sinus infection. This video was very helpful. We have a wood stove and sometimes it really affects my sinuses. I hope this helps.
Very good video thanks for sharing. I did notice you didn’t cover the care and cleaning of the bottle after use. I think that is important, would please cover that part for us?
Great question! I let the bottle dry completely after use on a drying rack and then I rinse with the distilled or previously boiled water before use. You are supposed to recycle and replace these every 3 months
I've been using Neil Med nasal system for over a decade. Have had 3 nasal polyp surgeries since 2004. My sinuses are happy. It's tough when traveling (I use prescribed normal saline - 1000ml lasts me 2.5 days flushing 2x a day) so I have started the Neil Med spray bottle when It's too late or if I'm on the road.
I am sick with nose and throat congestion, and this cleared about 50% of the congestion and allowed me to finally sleep. I used about 1/2 a bottle per nostril, and lots of the solution dripped out my mouth rather than nose.
Definitely talk to your doctor about it! I use this in the morning or afternoon for best results because when I do it at night before bed, sometimes I get a little post nasal drip from it
Great explanation! I find the neti pot a little fiddly and messy initially, but as someone who's had lifelong blocked sinuses, it's been one of the best things to clear them up! (Just be careful of a gush of saline water dribbling out about 15 minutes later.... LOL!)
Haha I know the feeling! It has happened to me an hour later going into a downward dog teaching yoga! That is where the rinse does better than the pot.... less gets trapped up there to the side. Plus, blowing at the end is key lol.
@@Future_Hendrix The warmth of the water is more for comfort. Distilled water is safe. However, you should always see a doctor if you have any symptoms or questions about your health.
Yup! More and more doctors are recommending neti for sinus infections to keep the usage of antibiotics down. Always good to check with your doctor when you have a sinus infection like that :) Did the neti help?
I have used a neti pot for years. It works great. I have the conventional one that looks like a teapot. And the water goes to the ear sometimes. I will try your method. Although I do not like the plastic containers. Boiling the water is new for me. It makes sense. I use regular salt that does not contains iodine. I use it twice a day when I have a cold and I feel miserably congested. Otherwise, I use it a few times a week or as needed. Thanks for your video.
Thanks for sharing! It is super helpful, especially for colds. I strongly recommend either distilled water or previously boiled (5-10 min) water. I had a friend in India who got a horrible infection from Neti water that wasn't boiled! The regular Neti pot is fine if it works for you, but this version is more pleasant and better on the ears if that becomes a problem.
I have been using the bottle for years. When you have a cold and have large nostrils, rotate the nozzle in your nose slowly as you rinse. You will catch a lot more "gunk" as you pressure-wash your entire cavity, not just a single area.
The first time I used my Neti Pot, I made my friend stay on the phone with me, it was so funny! I am going to try what you have recommended it looks easier.
I have Covid and my left ear is sooo clogged From all of the nose blowing. I’m taking pseudoephedrine to try to reduce all of the inflammation to my sinuses and my Eustachian tubes. This video is super helpful and I’m going to go with this brand as opposed to a tea pot style to protect my ears. Thanks so much for sharing!
I am glad it is helpful! Definitely consult your doc if you have any increasing symptoms. There is some research that suggests neti could be helpful for covid: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7193539/ I am definitely doing my neti! Hope you feel better soon. Stay safe.
I’ve been using a neti pot and I thought I had to completely tilt my head that would be better and after watching your video, recognizing that that is why my ears always feel worse like an ear infection 🤦♀️
Your family home could've been subject to hidden mould. You would be surprised how that could affect your breathing and when you move out your breathing problems and bad flu symptoms just disappear.
It doesn't really matter. When I am in places with really poor water quality, like when traveling. I prefer the bottle distilled. Generally, I find distilled is easier because you just warm it up. It is less of a barrier for me to do it.
Your video was a great help. I just got started with the traditional netipot and it was absolutely painful (in my case). Ill try this product and see how it goes. Thanks.
The traditional neti pot isn't as pleasant of an experience. I hope you come back to this video to help while you practice with the Neil Med and let me know how it goes, Sweta!
Thank you for the information. Never heard of this solution but I will try. I'm sometimes afraid my sinus issues might be mistaken for a symptom of Covid-19.
Could be so its good to get a test if you are unsure. However, research suggests this could help prevent COVID and it has shown to lessen symptoms of corona viruses
@@doubtfuldrawing Flushing through my nose I did not like it at all, but it did help temporarily. The problem resolved itself after I lost 35 pounds. The weight had something to do with mucus unable to drain properly. My doctor agreed. Thanks for asking.
Thanks for the video. I used a regular neti pot. This is the first time. I used distilled warm water with 1/2 packet to start of the xlear. I started with the right nostril. I initially got a serious sinus headache. So I stopped and let it drain until the pain subsided. Then did the rest 1/2 cup. I also initially felt a sore throat. Took a short break, let the water drain & gently blew my nose. Then did the other side. Not as intense symptoms, but uncomfortable. After I let the water drain again blew nose and discomfort disappeared. Have some mucus draining back if throat and spit it out. Is this normal? Water was not to hot or warm. Thank you!
I use a whole pack of the salts, as directed. Personally, if I use either two much or too little, it can sting. If it ever hurts or is uncomfortable, stop and you can always ask your medical professional. But to answer your question about if the postnasal drainage down the throat is normal. It can happen since those cavities are all connected. I usually spit it out, but sometimes if it is a small amount I swallow it. Hope next time is smoother! It can be worth it to breathe better
Hi, thanks for the informative video. I have a question though. In the video it was stated to not use the sinus rinse if I have an ear infection. However, I suspect that I may have some problem with my ears (tinnitus) as I hear some ringing sounds from time to time, and also been encountering serious motion sickness to the point where I literally cannot use a smartphone in a car or bus. I have not been able to get my ears checked yet, do you think it would be better for me to hold off on using the sinus rinse until I sort out the problem with my ears?
Hi, thanks for commenting. I think you should talk to your doctor if you have any concerns like this. I basically was reading from the instruction manual for the sinus rinse, but everyone is different. It sounds like you need to see the doctor on this anyways because it is affecting your everyday life. Good luck!
Thanks for the video! So I do have a concern. In the past year, I have done a nasal rinse using regular tap water. Should I be concerned about amebas? Also more recently I have been using distilled water following my sinus surgery as instructed by my surgeon, but I do clean/rinse the bottle afterwards with some tap water and will sometimes do another rinse with distilled water before letting it completely dry. Should I be worried? I'm going to avoid this moving forward.
I wouldnt be worried but moving forward I wouldnt use tap water, not even to rinse it. And definitely contact your doc if you have any negative symptoms or worries!
Hi Larry! The distilled water is always safe to rinse. Are you asking does it expire after you open it? I have never thought about that as I get a new bottle of distilled water ever 1-2 weeks. I would get a new bottle if you are unsure how long it has been open. No need to refrigerate. You can totally store in your bathroom. Just keep the lid closed.
My ENT doctor recommended this to me. Does this help with cleaning mucus in throat. How often do you need to take this. I know you said daily may be too much. Would once or twice a day be better
It shouldn't go into your throat, so no. But you can gargle salt water. Daily is fine for most people. Try it and see or Ask your ENT how often you personally should do it based on your unique situation
Thanks for the graphic how to... I was told about the neti pot for my sinus problem and found this. I think that is better and I'm gonna have to see if that helps my breathing and sleep. It's bad enough I'm using a nasal mask CPAP.
I just rinse it with the distilled water or previously boiled water... make sure that you let it dry after use (like on a drying rack). This is one reason why we recycle this type every 3 months.
Wow I've never seen a demo before and i would have used cold tap water..is this better than using claridin..I see the walgren ads all the time on TV but I don't think it's for Neilmed
This is definitely better than Claritin! And please do use distilled water... I have heard some horror stories of people using water straight from the tap.
I feel like I can breathe better immediately after. Sometimes I didn't even realize that my breathing was impaired before. It can also help prevent sinus issues.
Part 2: I was using the water from my Brita Filter and warming it in the microwave. My allergy doctor said that’s not a good idea. Since my nose has not got any better I’ll try it her way which is your way.
I have been using for more than 16 years now for severe congestion, but I had some not-so-great experiences with it when I used Reverse Osmosis that I kept in 2-gallon jugs. I believe that some of the tap water was left behind when I was cleaning and rinsing the jugs and got mixed with the RO water, so I decided that I could only use the Distilled water for my NailMed. The RO water was too risky in my case, and probably it would be for other people as well. Following your recommendations, what kind of RO would you use: bulk water from or < Earth Fare>, or straight from plastic bottles?
I just used distilled water.... or when I cant find that, I usually use bottled water and often boil it in case. I actually havent experimented with reverse osmosis water yet
Is it better to have water room temperature or slightly warm? Can I do it without salt as long as I boil the water and let it cool for 5 minutes? This may have been covered in the video but I have to watch it with the volume off right now. Thanks again.
Slightly warmer... but not so hot that it hurts. One test is to put the water on the back of your hand.... Believe it or not if you don't put the salt in at all (or put the wrong amount) it can burn. That's why I like to do exactly what the package says to do. Also, you can put closed captioning on the video :) I always get my videos professionally closed captioned for accessibility
Prior to using netti pot I always had a sinus infection once or twice a year. Now using the netti pot twice a day for 3 yrs I never had a sinus infection or allergy problem. I use cold tap water and salt packet each time.
It can! But if you have had inflammation for that long, I would recommend seeing a doctor or even an allergist. My allergist and doctor recommended I do the neti to help, but everybody is different. Feel better soon!
I know my dentist suggests that for some folks. I would check with your doc, dentist (if they specialize in airways), or allergist just to make sure it is right for you. I just stick with the instructions and packets that come with the Neil Med. Also, I would use zylitol packets specifically formulated for sinus rinse.
OMG whats going to happen, so yesterday was my first time. Cool! That was easy! Today, this morning, i did the right it went to the left fine, but when i did the left it didnt go out to the right, so i stopped maybe im doing something wrong, i tried again and it happened again, this time I completely stopped! Whats going to happen?! I dont know if theres water inside somewhere! Thanks!
You are fine :) But if you ever are really scared, definitely consult your doc. The water probably just went back into the tube or will flush out of your sinuses later when you blow your nose or lean over. If you are too stuffed up, sometimes the passage is blocked so it can't go out. Just wait a few days and try again or check in with your doc if you have any continual discomfort
I jsut tried to Neti pot but felt my right ear plug up a little- maybe I should try the bottle instead next time? And how do I get the ear to unplug or will my body do it naturally
Your body is brilliant and I am sure it recovered. This is why we don't tilt our heads to the side at all. If you have any ongoing problems, make sure you talk to your doc
I had COVID last month and still have horrible sinus issues. I can’t handle it anymore. I’m gonna be a big girl and try the Nettie pot for the first time!

I am sick with nose and throat congestion, and this cleared about 50% of the congestion and allowed me to finally sleep. I used about 1/2 a bottle per nostril, and lots of the solution dripped out my mouth rather than nose.
Oh I have sinus but never used the neti pot, I am definitely going to try it . Thanks for this amazing video
You’re welcome 😊 I hope this helps you to use a sinus rinse!
So helpful! I have a neti pot in my bathroom right now, but I've been too overwhelmed with how to use it, so thank you!!
Yay I hope this encourages you to use it again!
Thanks for this. Very reliant on afrin to sleep and want to stop using it. I'll have to bring this up to my Dr. Thanks!
Definitely talk to your doctor about it! I use this in the morning or afternoon for best results because when I do it at night before bed, sometimes I get a little post nasal drip from it
I have a love for Neti Pots. I developed alergies about 5 years ago, and use cleanse my sinuses as needed during allergy season.
It makes a big difference for my allergies too!
@@AnnSwansonWellness ha! Even after blowing as much I can, I still get delayed dribbles.. like I have hidden pockets up there 😂
@@AnnSwansonWellness When I used distilled water I didn't warm it should I see a doctor? Please respond.
@@Future_Hendrix The warmth of the water is more for comfort. Distilled water is safe. However, you should always see a doctor if you have any symptoms or questions about your health.
@@AnnSwansonWellness I meant boil it but thank you
5 minutes to get to the point.
I had a sinus once and this was the first thing that was recommended
Yup! More and more doctors are recommending neti for sinus infections to keep the usage of antibiotics down. Always good to check with your doctor when you have a sinus infection like that :)
Did the neti help?
I've always wondered how to use this! Super helpful! Thanks for breaking it all down for us! :)
I hope you give it a try!
I’ve always been curious about Neti pots but never knew much about them. Thank you so much for all of the amazing info in this video ♥️
Of course! I am so glad you found this helpful.
Thanks for sharing!
I like the way you say the word “with” specially at the end of a sentence.
I can't tell if this is a weird compliment, an ASMR obsession or a condescending remark...
I was debating !!!about using this Neilmed my Dr recommend, your demonstration was great I will give it another try.. thanks
I hope it worked out!
Great info - really liked the demo. My husband uses this type of Neti Pot too. I've never done it myself!
Maybe this will help you try when you feel like you need it :)
I have never tried this, but now I will.
So happy to hear!
Have you used a neti pot before? No, first time I've come across it. Very well-explained topic.
I hope it give it a try!
The first time I used my Neti Pot, I made my friend stay on the phone with me, it was so funny! I am going to try what you have recommended it looks easier.
haha well next time you do a neti, do it with me by watching the video!
Do a video on cleaning the bottle.
Stay safe.
Sounds miserable! :( I hope you’re better, Nikki. 🙏🏻❤️
@Officer Kenny
You’re a goof!!! 🤣🤣
I’ve been using a neti pot and I thought I had to completely tilt my head that would be better and after watching your video, recognizing that that is why my ears always feel worse like an ear infection 🤦♀️
I'm so glad it helped! I used to tilt my head too, but I find this method so much more pleasant, especially for the ears
WOW!!! The 1st half of your video is VERY informative & interesting!!! Definitely going to try the sinus rinse! And subscribing to your channel!
Teresa, so glad to hear you enjoyed it. I look forward to more of your comments :)
I"ve never heard of Neti Pot... I used to suffer from sinuses for years. I just couldn't breathe. When I left my family home, it just stopped.
Breathing is so important! If you ever get stuffed up again, maybe you will come back to this video and try a neti :)
Your family home could've been subject to hidden mould. You would be surprised how that could affect your breathing and when you move out your breathing problems and bad flu symptoms just disappear.
I'm from India proud to our ancestors
Yes! So many great practices that have stood the test of time and science come from India.
This was helpful. Can you please share some brands of Distilled water that I can purchase. Thank you
I don't know brands but any distilled water at the grocery store or drugstore will do!
is it better to use boiled water or distilled? or does it not matter
I have a couple kids with environmental allergies and the Neti Pot helps so much especially after exposure.
It really helps with allergies, that is how I originally was introduced to the neti pot!
Yes!! Very true 👍 neil med really helped me, with my mucous. I used it twice a week.
I feel like that right now
Did it work?
@@doubtfuldrawing Flushing through my nose I did not like it at all, but it did help temporarily. The problem resolved itself after I lost 35 pounds. The weight had something to do with mucus unable to drain properly. My doctor agreed. Thanks for asking.
Covid left me sinus infections 😢
@@AnnSwansonWellness definitely! And thanks for the quick reply! 😊
Thank you very much for this video as I’m sure my ENT dr is going to start me on this. Very helpful!!!
Hi I have a question, so how long is distilled water safe for rinsing? Also, can I store it in my bathroom or would I have to refrigerate it?
@@AnnSwansonWellness awesome thank you!
@@AnnSwansonWellness ok and also when I do it water doesn't come out of the other nostril like how I see in all the videos
Thanks for the graphic how to... I was told about the neti pot for my sinus problem and found this. I think that is better and I'm gonna have to see if that helps my breathing and sleep. It's bad enough I'm using a nasal mask CPAP.
Hi,thanks for shared this information...I have a doubt that, what type of salt we can use in it?can I use normal cooking salt?
I only use the salts that come in the package with the sinus rinse
Use salt without iodine.
Love this Ann, can definitely see some great benefits with Neti Pot. Cheers
Absolutely!
What is the best way to desinfect the bottle beforr using it each time please ?
I just rinse it with the distilled water or previously boiled water... make sure that you let it dry after use (like on a drying rack). This is one reason why we recycle this type every 3 months.
Wow I've never seen a demo before and i would have used cold tap water..is this better than using claridin..I see the walgren ads all the time on TV but I don't think it's for Neilmed
This is definitely better than Claritin! And please do use distilled water... I have heard some horror stories of people using water straight from the tap.
I know Nicky is a big fan of the Neti pot! I'll keep it in mind for next time. Thanks for this video Ann!!
My pleasure :)
High I'm doing this to treat an ear infection as the doctor I saw recommended clearing the sinuses to treat the infection. Any thoughts?
I would do what your doctor tells you
How fast do you feel relief after you've done this process? I have never used this and haven't had a sinus episode in over 5 years.
Thanks
I feel like I can breathe better immediately after. Sometimes I didn't even realize that my breathing was impaired before. It can also help prevent sinus issues.
Thanks for showing us how to use Neti Pot and why we might want to
My pleasure!!
Part 2: I was using the water from my Brita Filter and warming it in the microwave.
My allergy doctor said that’s not a good idea.
Since my nose has not got any better I’ll try it her way which is your way.
Definitely listen to your allergy doc on that one!
@@AnnSwansonWellness Thank you Ann! :)
Prior to using netti pot I always had a sinus infection once or twice a year. Now using the netti pot twice a day for 3 yrs I never had a sinus infection or allergy problem. I use cold tap water and salt packet each time.
I am so glad you have found it helpful! It has changed my life too.
Hi, I have inflammation in the nose for last 3 months, does neti pot help with my condition? Thank you in advance
It can! But if you have had inflammation for that long, I would recommend seeing a doctor or even an allergist. My allergist and doctor recommended I do the neti to help, but everybody is different. Feel better soon!
Thanks for the informations I just ordered neti pot on Amazon hopefully it works
I hope it helps! You may want to come back to this video to practice with me or download my step by step guide www.annswansonwellness.com/immunity
Great video Ann! I use one and put zylitol in mine.... is that okay?
I know my dentist suggests that for some folks. I would check with your doc, dentist (if they specialize in airways), or allergist just to make sure it is right for you. I just stick with the instructions and packets that come with the Neil Med. Also, I would use zylitol packets specifically formulated for sinus rinse.
I used kładovska salt. I got it in Poland. And used distilled luke warm water. My nose has been running a lot since then. Seems to be helping though.
Watched your video, I did not know about distilled water.
Thank you. This was so useful to learn.
Thank you Hila! So glad you found it helpful
Can you use bottled water? And does it have to be warm while using?
Yes and yes :)
@@AnnSwansonWellness thank you! ❤
at first i was using tap water to rinse since i didn't know the risks. is there something i should do to take precaution now?
Boil and let it cool to lukewarm.
I beat 30 years of migraine with this
That's amazing! It really can improve multiple aspects of health
Wait so migraine came from sinus?
It's amazing how much this can help. I should pull ours out.
Yes, it is amazing. Do make sure you aren't sharing with anyone though. Let me know if you try again!
I’ve seen something like this, I’ve heard it works! 2x a day is a bit much I agree.
Once a day is best for most!
I love my neti pot! Thank you for making a video I can reference!
You are so welcome!
I am having Nasal polyps which is best medication pls advice can neti rinse benfit
Talk to your doctor about specific situations like this :)
I had COVID last month and still have horrible sinus issues. I can’t handle it anymore. I’m gonna be a big girl and try the Nettie pot for the first time!
Good for you! New research has shown that neti helps reduce time of illness for covid, so you might find some extra relief!
This is the only brand you recommend...? I'm from uae you have any other cheaper alternatives..?
This is the brand my doctor recommended so this is the only one I use. I wouldn't go cheaper on something like this. I just calculated it and it ends up being 12 cents a day to use this. Hope that helps
So do you have to boil the distilled water too?
Nope. Distilled water is already clean. She boiled the distilled water to warm it up.
