Hell yea I want to see more, need a round number 2 on getting it running.
Yes just subscribed… need more on this car please
Love to see this car running and also see it cleaned up and looking smart again, it's got kool body lines, can't be many of this type of car around, should be worth a few bob to the ryt person, keep up the good work guy's 👍
That comment spoiled the video for me...
After seeing the damage in that engine I was surprised you even tried to get it to run. That is totally crazy. I just subscribed...lol
So, I've been watching this car on Marketplace for yeeeeeeeeeears. I live in MA and have contemplated getting it myself many times. Couldn't believe when this popped up on my TH-cam page! That was a valiant effort! You'll get it running, no doubt. Would love to see it running and driving! Good luck!!!
I admire you're persistence to get it running by working through the night. 😊
Definitely get this running. You don't come across these every day.
The 361 used a 2 barrel carb and the 413 used a 4 barrel. The New Yorker being top of the line used the 413.
I was just gonna say, good on ya.
You are correct Mr. Skate.
There were 4bbl 361 in some applications, as well as 2bbl 413 available in trucks.
Probably a Max Wedge experimental car. 🙄
NOT 100% TRUE
GET IT STARTED AND RUNNING. PUT ON A PART TWO PLEASE. WE ARE ASKING FOR IT. THANKS.
Hell yeah I'd like to see it cleaned up and running. I'd watch a full resto series on that car. Very cool. I also like how you guys keep each other laughing through the struggle.
I would love to see that limo running. Well done guys, keep up the good work 👍
Not gonna lie, I was actually going to run up and buy that! I bought a rusty 65 New Yorker with 412,000 miles on it instead though, and it wiped my bank account out.
If that car was in commercial service (I'd say it was based on the heavy gauge vinyl seats front and rear, no a/c this wasn't a millionaires ride) it has a LOT of miles on it. It probably ran all day every day for years.
There used to be lots of them at airports every where .
@@Mercmad Right. It's what's called an Airport Limousine. Not for luxury, but to shuttle people to airports.
@@UberLummoxA shuttle bus before there were shuttle busses lol
Thanks for the video guys. I bought a Caddy and it didn't run either after getting it to crank find out it had three bent valves and I'm now to the point I can start to rebuild it. The parts are hard to find and not cheap. But I'm determined to get it running this summer. Keep working it and I'll keep watching
From where you started...that was an amazing attempt to get it running! Hats off to you guys in your determination!
Hopefully you will continue trying to get it running, and make another video on it.
Lug nuts on driver's side are reverse threaded. You can not use them on the passenger side wheels.
I dunno , man. You got it on the trailer. It makes more sense to tow it home and work on it there, where you have power, proper tools, and can run somewhere for parts.
I love to to see old cars like this brought back to life. Where are you going to find a car like this anywhere else unless you really look
Man, those 413s made 340 HP and 470 ft lb of torque. I have a feeling with the amount of rust on that one cylinder that the rings will never be able to seal against it, so it might be down a hole, but that's a great engine for the time.
it wasn't a limousine - it was an airport shuttle car - it would take you from the airplane to the terminal (before walkways were invented)
Commonly called airport limousines.
@@seed_drill7135 ....REALLY ?? ... in my book. they're called "airport shuttles" ... i try to help you - but you want to be an @$$hole
More like from the hotel to the airport.
I guess you have never heard of an airport limousine? Some of them even had more doors than this one
In 1963 the New Yorkers came with the 413 wedge 340 horse big Block I believe. Very cool and awesome find.
As soon as he threw those keys on the roof I thought "Oh oh there go the keys he's not gonna remember those and then later he'll be lookin!" LOL. Maybe not but we'll see.
There is a flat area for stamped letters n numbers. It is at front driver side (opposite of the distributer). If you are standing in in front of the grill/rad it is just to the right and a bit aft of the water neck/thermostat housing. It is a horizontal surface at about the same level as the block wall. If it is a 413 it be stamped T-41. T= 1963, 41 = 413, 1963 383 = T-38. 1963 361 would be T-36. These were hand punched and were not always very deep--may need to scrub clean to see. For block casting info (year etc.) you need to remove the starter.
Looks like a 413, I see that flat area on the front.
"Shes a beaut Clark"
You _think_ you hate it now, wait 'til you drive it....
I wanna see her on the road again, maybe as a resto mod?? Loved the vid guys!
"How does it smell ?"
- Like a low budget nursing home.
🤣
Valiant effort gentleman!
It is illogical to leave out the most interesting parts of the effort. If the car magically jump on the trailer, you should have made a video of it.
Small world, I've been staring at that thing on Marketplace for at least a year. Glad somebody snagged it, I was sure it was going to scrap. Cheers from NH.
Where it should be lol I. The crusher.
Definitely love to see more of it
Holey cow. Someone finally bought it, its been advertised for sale for 20 years. I looked at that car in the early 2000nds. Its exactly where it was then and the hood was folded up allready.
That’s crazy. He told us he drove it to that spot in 03. 🤷♂️ I have never seen an engine that locked up.
Yeah I remember seeing this for sale in the WantAds magazine. When that used to be a thing
it's too bad people will sit on something and let it rot rather than lower their price.
I admire your collective sticktuitiveness and humor. You aren't really beat until you quit. :)
Distributor up front, I ***Believe*** means some sort of big block.
Good luck guys
Lots of work on the engine is need of work. My brother-in-law worked on an engine that had a very bad piston wall. And he did bring a replacement block that was in perfect shape. But my friend's dad did not want to pay for it. So, we built the engine anyway. And it rean pretty good. I saw my friend 3 years later and that engine was still running. That we never would happen. Now you are talking how me and one of my cousins did when we picked up an engine from the junk yard. We did know it needed to be rebuilt it, we wanted to hear it run first. Pretty crazy but that is what we did. I would like to see this engine rebuilt and running. I know you will have a much better chance to see the engine run. Please rebuild that engine!
I was waiting to see a cop stop by, and the explanation that would be given for taking an engine apart in some ones parking lot !
Well, it certainly wasn't to make an inconspicuous getaway car!
11:00, If steering wheels are supposed to be round, why does Tesla put square steering wheels in their cars, lol
I guess Chrysler did it first.
The battery was disconnected, it would be interesting if it still had some voltage.
I'd love to see this beast running and driving again!
361, 383 stamped near the distributor, 413, 426, 440, stamped on the right front flat area on the block as you look at it, easy to see.
When you get that running, street legal, You and a bunch of friends do drag and drive would be a trip.😊😂. Also might get Stretch a new owner. 🎉
I cant wait to see you get this running and driving and cleaned...way to go.
The New Yorker was top of the line. This is an airport limo worth saving!
Great video. Love tho se more of this car 😃
I would love to come and work with you guys! I'm retired, disabled, 57 years old with nothing to do. I feel I'd fit right in with you guys lol You have the same drive and persistence I used to have. Keep up the great work.
that is a great video! thank you very much
I had a 63,it had a 413
The big dog💪🏻
Like to see it running for sure. First of your videos I have seen.
You lost me as soon as you said it was a 13mm for the hood bolts. They didn't use metric on American made cars ...
NICE WORK. It has been my experience that when a big block Mopar is stuck, you are too. Something about the materials they use or closer tolerances, but just one piston with rusted rings, and game over.
I recall someone in our club back in the 8o's had one of these. Possibly, it could be the same one, since we were in Massachusetts then. I recall it being pretty nice then, but that was about 40 years ago.
I'm 44 and in Massachusetts. That car has been for sale since since I was in my teens. In the Want Ads, and the papers. Always wondered who would be dumb enough to buy it.
Round 2 for sure !
I would like to see more. Maybe pull the engine and free up rings etc…
Want to see it run!
I believe that's an airport limo. It would shuttle from an airport to a hotel, that's why there is 6 doors.
Be crazy, if the next old car you found, really did have Jimmy's remains in it...( I mean with all of the bodies at Lake Mead) Could happen!
You cant let this car beat you!
The 413 is an RB block, the 361 is a B block. The RB had a higher deck than the B. In most cases the RB can be identified by and embossment near the distributor in front of the intake with the engine size stamped into the embossment. I can see the embossment in front of the intake, so it is likely a 413, but there is a possibility it could be a 426 max wedge as well. Though it doesn't have the max wedge intake, Chrysler has done stranger things, and being this is a limousine...this is where you would find those strange things happening. It looks like you have tons of room to bore it as well, I would fix it up. On the B the embossment is on a slant in front of the drivers side head. Either engine is a good find. Very cool car, thank you for sharing.
Get it running!
It is not turning fast enough. It could be the starter, the battery or the cables?
If it is a Chrysler product you can put another used engine in it?
Fun video.
That basket is called a STOKES Basket, for rescues.
You guys went waaaay above and beyond on that ol thing. Great job
That was an Ebike tire you found in the backseat. Strange. It looked like a modern one but is probably 20 years old.
I saw this for sale on FB Marketplace like a month ago. So cool to see the story continue!
Love these post forward look Chryslers, ironically still sharing the forward look designs on certain parts of the car.
I hope you intend to keep the pushbutton, it's the cream of the crop feature on these Chryslers!
And treat some of the parts on the car with care, the parts on a regular chrysler cars is already rare enough, more so on these limo's.
Keep that Limo, and restore it! I've got a similar year chrysler and it's the ultimate lead-sled cruiser.
Huge fan of the c-body mopars
I had a 63 NY Salon, A/C, Auto-Pilot, reverberator on the rear speaker, the Salon came with almost every option standard, and it drove great. That will be a great driving limo. FYI, KYB shocks work really well on them ')
That bicycle rim is the power wheel for an e-bike
That´s a cool limo, with that persistance You´ll get it sorted in notime. I´d like to see it being a cool car again.
Wow. That is dedication. What a job. I like the video. Nice work. Would love to see it run.
Just found your channel, glad i did! Great entertainment!
I would like to hear that Chrysler run. I hope you will have it online here so I can see what you all done to that piece of history.
More, more, more. We want to see more.
See that pad on the front drivers side of block? That means it is a raised block, 413, 426, and later 426 Hemi and the wedge 440. The ci is stamped onto that pad.
On 361, 383 motors the pad is on same plane as deck of block where heads attach. Also with the ci designation stamped on it.
A massive effort for a result that.....well....was expected, really......but she did pop a couple of times and you got a lot further than I would have. Man, I would have chucked in the sponge after seeing the rocker assembly and bores, let alone popping the sump, taking the pistons out and giving it the best shot it had of redeeming itself! The fact it came out of the ground without falling in half - let alone sitting stable on the trailer - is a miracle all of it's own making. I guess the moths holding hands to keep it together aren't ready to let go yet. Are you going to give the old girl another shot at the title.....or has she moved on to another green pasture?
Definitely gotta get it running an driving. Good job fellas great video
Man, one of these was just brought in to a junkyard I go to recently! That is really crazy odds
Hey buddy just found your channel so far cool !!! When Youu. Ran camera across top of motor. I seen a raised. Pad !!! Witch means it's an RB motor !!! Meaning it's not 361 or 350 or 383 or 400 and yes before anybody gets crazy I know there was not a 383 or 400 around yet !!! So with what I see that is gonna be a 413 or !!! Maybe 426 wedge !!!! But leaning towards 413 !!! Good motor !!!
Yes, it is a 413. I can see the pad that a low deck engine would not have.
There were 383's back in the 50's and they came on the Newport and base 300 in 1963.
That said, technically there was also a "RB" 383 available in the late 50's. It seems Chrysler overestimated how many 413's they were going to sell and underestimated how many people would order 383's. So the made a rb 383 to fill the gap.
Hang on. The B-383 was introduced in 1959. Don't forget about the rare RB-383 either. It was in a few entry level Chrysler cars around 59-60.
OK I saw this I clicked on it. And the first line had me busting. A gut. Love this video. You guys are awesome :-)
Great video, work and car guys back to life, subscribed😀🇧🇻
At least I'm seeing some snap-on tools! I know other guys use all harbor freight tools, which is a miracle in itself they get the job done with that crap!
Wow pulling it with an Explorer 😅
Amazing!
Some 10 years ago I happened on one of these in a you pull yard that was an abandoned project. Motor looked like fresh rebuilt with new paint. I should have bought that.
Armbruster-Stageway is the name of a company who created limousines and airport transporter vehicles. A net search doesn't provide any specific '63 New Yorker limousines, and the stretched '64 NY I found had a different style of alteration so it may or may not be that company. Frame connectors if they make them that long, if not already on it, might be a good investment for someone.
Hat's off to you gents, that's one hell of a days work.
sell it to Jimmys world, he would probably put a plane on it with propeller or something
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🍺🍺👍
It's a 413. All New Yorkers came with a 413 in 1963.
square wheel also came on 60 and 61 plymouth called a aero wheel pretty valuable as they were clear with metal flakes floating in clear plastic
Did you keep the hood?
Get the car running. It looks amazing and seems quite rare!!!
Good luck.
Nice try guys… I had a ‘63 300 Chrysler in the 70’s and it had the 383. Sweet car to drive and I could fit the whole PA system from my band into the trunk. I hope you can get that New Yorker back into shape .It could become the perfect Band Bus “Got Me Chrysler …it's as big as a Whale. And it’s about to set sail ! “
Since it is a New Yorker model the engine should be a 413cu.in. V8. Sorry everything was locked up so bad.
Car looks to be a Stageway stretch, built in Arkansas. The center door is a modified front door and uses front door hardware and glass, plus a small fixed pane. What is unusual is that it is a New Yorker and not a Newport.
That’s a neat old car! My friend had one in high school. Sooo much power!👍 I think you guys got the right stuff but you ain’t driving it home today!
Totally awesome car. Maybe better if it were not a limo but it may turn out real cool. I want a 413 just for kicks to rebuild and stuff I think they are super.
new plugs points leads coil , reco carby, reoplace lifters and dodgy valves, new head gasket
In 1963 chrysler newyorker came standard with a 413
You really tried guy's. Enjoyed your humor. Thanks for sharing.
Getter running. U have come this far
I hope we get to see more videos of the car.
Hard core video guys love it 👍
Find the engine serial numbers and look it up!
In the UK and invested Now😂Please Restore this we need to see more videos 👍
