finally an updated green juice tutorial! printable recipe -- lifeisnoyoke.com/green-juice/ note: I *still* say the green juice rap every morning to be sure I don't miss anything. Fruit green seeds, lemon ginger lime ice on top maybe some frozen mango or some jalapeno
I been making green juice every day for two months now. It’s hard to say what my favorite change has been. My skin, mood, energy levels, and drive have improved tremendously!
OH MY OH MY. THIS such a great way to start the morning. I did the recipe in half AND I added 2 nice size dates. It takes the bite off the orange and lemon. I have a problem with acidic fruits and this worked out GREAT!!!!
I'm heading to the kitchen to try my new Vitamix...I've watched your video a number of times and its informative and hilarious! Your just a natural..pay no attention to the voices that say you talk too much...knowledge and humor..ya cant beat it!
I've been a Vitamix rep for years, one of the selling points is you don't need to add water to your smoothies. But it never occurred to me that making a drink that is mostly water would make drinking greens more appealing (I usually do fruits and berries with nut milks and homemade yogurts), but now I really want to make your recipe!
Okay, so I made the recipe and I really REALLY like it. I am actually juice fasting for a few days on this (and the carrot citrus recipe) after overeating the last week on a cruise, LOL! I had a quart for breakfast, a quart of the carrot citrus juice for brunch, and now another quart of this for lunch that I just finished. Since there's no precise measurements I created my own for regular consistency. Using a scale: 32 oz water (preferably cold) 20 oz of fresh or frozen fruit (best if up to 1/4 of it is frozen) (I use 1 Apple, 1 Banana, 1 Orange and then top up with a mix of frozen Pineapple and/or Mango chunks.) 4 oz of power greens, spring mix, or a mix of Kale and Spinach. 1 oz Ginger 1 oz Lemon slice with or without peel Pinky finger thick Jalapeño slice 12 oz of Ice cubes. Lastly, add in the beginning of blending on high through the lid plug: 1 oz of seeds (I use an even mix of Chia, Flax, and Hemp.) Blend for 2.5 min, first 20 seconds on speed 1 - 5 to break up the chunks, the rest on high speed. Blend for another 30 seconds on speed 1, or starting on speed 3 and then going to 2 and then 1 (10 seconds each). To break up the foam. Caloric content is about 250 Calories per quart on average with the seeds, omitting the seeds drops it down to 180 Calories a quart. Makes about 9 cups which the Vitamix handles just fine! Thanks for sharing! It's definitely a part of my regular routine from now on!
I really enjoy watching your videos and I especially enjoy watching you guys interact with your son. Having green juice every day has definitely become a habit for me. Loving my Vitamix!
Great video! Made and added turmeric. I actually clean and cut up turmeric and ginger into small pieces and freeze. Just pop one of each in... Delicious!
Great video! Been following your recipe for about a month now - absolutely love the smoothies. Filling, nutritious, and healthy! Wife and kids drink them, too. Usually enough left over for a mid-afternoon snack as well. Here are some tweaks I've made: add a large carrot; add a celery stick or two; add hemp seeds and chia seeds; add turmeric; add a scoop of spirulina; add protein powder. I usually skip the banana. Really, no wrong way to make these if you follow the basic formula - all mine have turned out great.
I love how chill your videos are 💕 I’m turning 30 this summer, offered myself a Vitamix 5200 at 25, considering getting myself an ascent a3500 ! 😇 I’m dreaming of those tiny containers ! If you could make more videos with those tiny and single smoothie size containers it would be AWESOME ! 🥳 with a ton of recipes, tips, tricks adapted to that size 😍 I watched every single TH-cam content (including yours, multiple times 😂) about it and there totally isn’t enough haha !
I am so PUMPED. I splurged and finally picked this up today. Back in college I used an Omega juicer which really got me into juicing greens but took FOREVER and was a chore to clean. It's been quite a few years since I juiced and did my research and got The Vitamix. This is seriously game changer. I can't wait to finally get back into my green routine lol
I had that same Omega juicer! Your not kidding when you mention the cleaning! That part kept me from juicing everyday. What a difference having a faster clean up juicer
Omg !!! I still have my Omega juicer , Juiceman , Great stainless Breville , wheatgrass , and now getting my Accent 3500 !!!! I’m 68 yrs old . Can you put wheat grass in this ?
I drink green juice every day and make it every other day. Unlike your recommendation, I do use frozen blueberries, cherries or other red fruit, and fresh raspberries from our garden when they are in season (the bees are in the blooms now!). It does turn the juice brownish, but I don't find that off-putting at all, and the juice is wonderfully delicious. Especially with the thinnings from my lettuce/greens patch right now.
Helpful perspective, thank you. Yes, for pros like us, fresh blueberries etc from the garden mixed in make it wonderful. But for newbies, brown-colored juice could be a barrier to success and we are trying to remove any and all of those for them 😊
I found using frozen greens (kale, spinach) much easier than dealing with fresh. Also much cheaper. Though for those that want entirely raw, frozen greens are flash steamed and then flash frozen.
Thanks for these videos. I recently bought the A3500 with Stainless Steel Container and really appreciate your videos. You're a funny goofy dude. Even though some may say you talk a lot, I enjoy all the in-depth personal takes and vitamix deets. Keep on keep'n on
I have had my Vitamix for a few years and decided today to try the green juice. I followed your recipe and wow it is delicious. Not sure it will last in the fridge as it is too tasty to keep for tomorrow. Thanks for the great video as usual.
your son is so adorable and he def wanted to take over and spill it all lol this drink is a keeper, going to try this,im so over weight and im 55 and im tired of being tired and cant walk,so this is how im going to start my weight loss journey, thank you for sharing this,im going to add celery to my drink too
I have just watched some of your videos and I find them interesting and educative. You now have a new fan because I have also subscribed to you. Well done and keep up the good work. I have also recently purchased the Vitamix blender and can confidently say that it is my favourite blender and my new pet. lol
It's funny because my go to green drink is arugula. Yes, it has a slightly bitter taste but you get used to it. Arugula is high in nitric oxide so it helps dilate the blood vessels and lower blood pressure. It's also in the same family as broccoli so it is anti cancer. Also, I just got my Vitamix 5300 yesterday. I used it twice today. It's amazing. The power is unbelievable. I like how it liquifies so well. It's much easier on the stomach to digest.
I learned this from a florist, recut plant stems under a flowing water tap or under water, that will prevent air bubbles forming at the new cut, air bubbles will impede the absorbtion of water into the stems.
I just bought a replacement 64oz tall 5200 container and have been making a simple green drink consisting of spinach, broccoli, and carrots with some fruits, coconut water, and ice. I never get enough vegetables in my diet and this is a great way for me to get them in. It’s been 2 days and I feel great. 👍
Funny you mentioned it changed eye color! My eyes did change. Brown to hazel now green over the years. Never thought it was due to improved nutrition. Interesting. Working on improving my eyesight. Using a lot of carrot juice in smoothies and sweet potatoes in meals. Anyone know good eye exercises?
We got our first Vitamix yesterday. My family was actually quite amazed how good my first try of a green smoothie tasted. They were disappointed that there wasn‘t any leftover 😁
Thank you for this!! I just got my vitamix and these tips are so helpful. I’m going to make my first green smoothie tomorrow. My husband was like what is a green smoothie? I shouldn’t have told him bc he said he refuses to try them now.
Love behind the scenes at the end of the video. Bravo on involving your kid. Unlike me I get really frustrated if they are even around me while making something in the kitchen 😅
Love your videos! They are really fun, and informative. Love how you involve your cute little boy as well. I just discovered you a couple of days ago. I’m in the UK. My Vitamix arrived yesterday and all I can say is WOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve got the A2500 and the cups and bowls. Can’t wait to try the green juice. Edited - Just made the green juice! It’s awesome! Thank you.
Thank you for the video @Lifeisnoyke. So much information and have loved making my green juice. I hope you can help with this question. I am trying not to use too much fruit as to keep the sugar on the lower side but am finding it is lacking in flavor and seems watery. Currently using one apple orange and lemon...ginger...celery, kale, spinach, parsley 4 cups of water and ice on top. Need to order Chia/ Hemp seeds ...Suggestions?
So I'm watching video while having my Vitamix green drink and I had to pause at 5:07. Why? Because the neglected dirty pitcher of my new A3500 was sitting in the pantry sink, waiting for its blender bath.. Now, that's better. Anyway, great tip to develop that clean-it-right-away habit. Loving this machine, and the 8 and 20 oz cups.
This morning I tried your green juice. As I was drinking it I notice the small glass container with the chia seeds! RATS! Next time. I didn't have ginger root but we have frozen ginger cubes that I used instead, and after a quick sip, decided to add about 2 teaspoons of maple syrup. Also, according to my Vitamix A3500 manual loading order is: liquids, dry goods, leafy greens, fruits & veggies, ice & frozen ingredients. Whereas your recipe states the fruits go before the greens. Not sure what difference it makes. Mine did come out a bit frothy, even after the 30 second, power level 1, air-bubble removal cycle. Aside from all that, my wife and I were very pleased with the result. Thanks again for posting this.
I just got my very first vita mix on extreme sale. I think I paid about 300 Canadian. I have been watching this video with my four-year-old son and he loves seeing the little boy making green juice with his dad. We made your recipe today, and though we didn’t have banana, we added an extra apple. I at 30 years old have always been the pickiest eater mac & cheese, peanut butter, and jelly. Chef Boyardee cans McDonald’s is all I would eat. I still am an extremely picky eater and I don’t eat any vegetables at all. I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t like this or that my four-year-old wouldn’t like it either. He was the first want to try it, and She kept drinking it and then gave a thumbs up and I was shocked so then I went and tried it, and it’s actually really good. It’s way more tolerable than you would ever think especially if you are extremely picky eater. It tastes nothing like the green powders that people sell. It actually taste good. I mostly could taste the lemon, and the Apple with a little hints of ginger. Now I have green juice for the next three days and I am really excited to continue to make green juice a part of our life.
Try freeze dried vegetables it’s even easier. Plus you can use the powder in your smoothies… I didn’t eat mushy vegetables growing up probably because texture is important to me. Maybe you have an issue like that I love crispy vegetables.
Made it today (day 1) for breakfast, thank you! I’ve been wanting to try this recipe out for a while, so yummy. I omitted the pepper and instead added turmeric. Love how smooth it came out, save for a few fibrous pieces but that’s okay.
My husband and I watched your video today, and now we're drinking green juice! I had to substitute a couple of things. I feel great because I'm pouring tomorrow's breakfast now & it's healthy!
Stumbled on your videos and about to order my first vitamix, after debating pro 750 and accent a3500 I'm ordering refurbished a3500. Stoked to try your recipes. Love that your videos are calm and concise, so refreshing in the youtube world holy cheesus. Do you guys have a reccomendations for knives?
Thanks for your video on the Green Juice recipe. I’ve been making it for the last two months and asking myself why did I not listen to you guys when I first purchased my Vitamix back in 2020 because of your other videos. I received the recipe book from you but did do it. Now I am said I will be away from my Vitamix for a week while on vacation. 😢 I am kind of hoping the Airbnb has a Vitamix. 😂 Thanks and will be excited to have Green Juice when I get home. This taste amazing. I did add half can of Coconut Milk and it makes it creamier. 😊
Just purchased a vitamix. Loving the recipes. Just made the detox salad. Now smoothies and juice. Can I get the food processor attachment for the 5200?
My 2 year old son helps make our green shakes everyday too lol! I definitely find that the Vitamix is actually less loud than the ninja!... But do you think we should be wearing sound protection too?! Would love to see a super basic 'how to' video. Just got the A3500 and I usually stick to using the preset modes but don't use the variable speeds and pulse on its own really. I watched the old video of the strawberry sorbet you made with that guy, equal parts and all, except with frozen blueberries using the frozen desserts mode and it definitely didn't work, It was basically a shake... then again that was shown on a different Vitamix model so that could be why lol? I ended up saving it by adding a ton more frozen blueberries. I'm hesitant to go outside my comfort zone because the instructions say to stick with Vitamix recipes while you're getting acquainted, don't blend to long at low or high speeds etc. 😅. Ps: thanks for all your content! I've watched quite a few of your videos already but I'm going to go backwards and study then all more intently now that we actually have a Vitamix 😁 we are not plant based but a home with a child with many severe food allergies. Peanuts, eggs, dairy, lentils, peas, cashews, pistachios... Just so far anyway. So yes thank you! ☺️
This video is great. I just ordered my first ever vitamix after staring at them for months and months. On one hand I have that buyers regret; "Will I use it enough", but on the other.. I can't drink caffeinated tea, coffee, or the like in the mornings due to medical reasons. Getting rid of them has messed with my already crap energy levels really bad. I mean I've leveled out now to being exhausted all the time, but just with no more caffeine headaches/upset guts. But I miss having a morning drink with my oatmeal or my bagel. I'm not a fan of plain regular juice most days, it's boring and kinda acidic on my stomach usually. Lots of sugar too. But now I'm just really looking forward to being able to make whole food juices. They're gunna have the fiber I really freaking need in my diet right now and I'm hopeful that maybe they'll help my energy. I really want to experiment and actually incorporate spinach, chard, kale, collard greens in my morning blends.
Incredibly delicious. My wife and 8 followed your recipe but added mango. Later this week repeat it but had slightly less water and throw in some frozen avocado chunks for creaminess. As it stands are first attempt was amazing and I kept thinking I had over stuffed the Vitamix! Cheers!
Hi what would be the difference between a green juice and a green smoothie? Let's say I take these same ingredients but freeze most of them a and then blend it, would it make a difference in nutrition value or overall quality?
Followed your recipe, didn’t have any mangoes on hand so i used pineapples on top instead. Just had my first glass with breakfast and It’s actually pretty delicious. My stomach feels great right now lol. Great recipe. Got videos of more recipes?
This is a great video, lots of good information. Love hoe you interact with your Son. I was making green smoothies for a while when I got my first Vitamix, 10 years ago. There’s been a lull and decided to start again, at age 74. Plus I just did an upgrade and got a new Vitamix 7500. My recipe is a little different, as I include celery, cucumber, spinach and either avocado or banana. I also use almond milk most of the time. Thanks
Lol I just made this today. And all I can say is... I mean I don’t hate it 😂. But it’s not something I’ll share with other people lol. It’s an acquired taste I suppose. I drink all two and a half cups without gagging lol. I almost followed the recipe. I used everything you guys did but added some 1 mini cucumber and 1 celery stalk. I just felt like it need more veggies. But boooyyy this doesn’t have any taste to it except for the taste of health. Lol. Do you guys think the added extra vegetables over powder the fruit and took away the flavor by chance?
Every time I watch this video I see something I didn’t see before. Think it’s possible to add nut butter without messing with the taste too much? I need to find a plain protein to add that won’t mess with it, because after you get used to it this tastes really good.
Weird question, but can I make whole lemon lemonade? I know sugar is bad but adding it or any sweetener? I've need the Vitamix break down everything and curious about making whole lemon lemonade.
finally an updated green juice tutorial! printable recipe -- lifeisnoyoke.com/green-juice/
note: I *still* say the green juice rap every morning to be sure I don't miss anything. Fruit green seeds, lemon ginger lime ice on top maybe some frozen mango or some jalapeno
I totally make this recipe, jalapeno and everything, and it's yummo!! 😁
I may need to try that. I always struggle remembering the right order to put things in.
I been making green juice every day for two months now. It’s hard to say what my favorite change has been. My skin, mood, energy levels, and drive have improved tremendously!
Love this thx for sharing with us
Gods bountiful greens are for our God made bodies. Hallelujah
I love this recipe, its far easier to do than using a juicer and a lot less wasteful.
Yes, I have a Juiceman II but I always felt guilty about throwing away all the fiber. I like making smoothie's more.
Finishing up on speed 1 removes that foam. Thank so much for that tip!
Lord were have you guys been. So happy to find you.
Using a scale:
32 oz water (preferably cold)
20 oz of fresh or frozen fruit (best if up to 1/4 of it is frozen)
(I use 1 Apple, 1 Banana, 1 Orange and then top up with a mix of frozen Pineapple and/or Mango chunks.)
4 oz of power greens, spring mix, or a mix of Kale and Spinach.
1 oz Ginger
1 oz Lemon slice with or without peel
Pinky finger thick Jalapeño slice
12 oz of Ice cubes.
Lastly, add in the beginning of blending on high through the lid plug:
1 oz of seeds (I use an even mix of Chia, Flax, and Hemp.)
Blend for 2.5 min, first 20 seconds on speed 1 - 5 to break up the chunks, the rest on high speed.
Can we all give Jonathan a big thumbs up and subscribe for this GENEROUS contribution? Thanks Jonathan! 🙏

Delicious!

Love to hear it!

Try freeze dried vegetables it’s even easier. Plus you can use the powder in your smoothies… I didn’t eat mushy vegetables growing up probably because texture is important to me. Maybe you have an issue like that I love crispy vegetables.
I have a knows me up I did not know I could not smell objects or food until high school
Headed out to get ingredients. LOVE the outtake!!!
Made it today (day 1) for breakfast, thank you! I’ve been wanting to try this recipe out for a while, so yummy. I omitted the pepper and instead added turmeric. Love how smooth it came out, save for a few fibrous pieces but that’s okay.
I think of Aaron Rodgers when I watch this video. 🙂
Great information!! Thank you for sharing.
My husband and I watched your video today, and now we're drinking green juice! I had to substitute a couple of things. I feel great because I'm pouring tomorrow's breakfast now & it's healthy!
I’m so excited to try this! Also, you are such a good parent, I can tell! 😊
I made my first batch last night! And I LOVE it! Refreshing! Thanks for sharing!!
Great thank you 🙏😇🙏❤️
Stumbled on your videos and about to order my first vitamix, after debating pro 750 and accent a3500 I'm ordering refurbished a3500. Stoked to try your recipes. Love that your videos are calm and concise, so refreshing in the youtube world holy cheesus. Do you guys have a reccomendations for knives?
lifeisnoyoke.com/out/amazon/chefs-knife !
I love this video. I love you guys
All this....bravo!
I drink veggie juice every day!!! LIFE CHANGING
In a vira mixer juicer?
I got one 2 Weeks ago. I love my Vitamix

Thank you for sharing!
How many oz of greens/fruit do you think you use?
Quick question. Would using coconut water be better than regular water?
It’d be tasty for sure
Cheers!
Love it. Thanks Bob!
Hi what would be the difference between a green juice and a green smoothie? Let's say I take these same ingredients but freeze most of them a and then blend it, would it make a difference in nutrition value or overall quality?
Probably just the thickness

Do you have to use a vitamix? Or will any blender do?
Do I need to de-seed oranges?
Should I be trying to remove the lemon seeds or does it matter?
You need ALOT more ginger, the health benefits are magical

tried something like this in my new vitamix, yes pretty good :)
Lol. Do you guys think the added extra vegetables over powder the fruit and took away the flavor by chance?
probably 😊
Can you please share how many servings this is?
Every time I watch this video I see something I didn’t see before. Think it’s possible to add nut butter without messing with the taste too much? I need to find a plain protein to add that won’t mess with it, because after you get used to it this tastes really good.
I like making “green juice cereal” by adding a bunch of granola, nuts, raisins, and peanut butter and eating it all with a spoon 👍
He is so sweetheart 😊
