Is it a strain on the blades and motor on the vitamix when ice is added? Would it damage it overtime? Also carrots would it damage the blades when blending overtime? Hard foods mostly is what I'm asking. Can the vitamix handle it?
I like how he talked forever about the differences between juicing and smoothies and that this video is about juicing without a juicer.... then proceeds to make a smoothie lmao
I had an old KitchenAid blender that I made some green juice with. The key it to take out the stems of the kale. I would also remove any seeds from the citrus fruits, and use plenty of liquid, more than you would with a stronger blender like the Vitamix. I would start the KitchenAid on stir, and then ramp it up to full speed until I got the results I was looking for. The smoothie turned out good and surprisingly smooth, because I was careful to not overload the little KitchenAid. It now resides with a close relative, and should be around for many years to come.
Just wanted to thank you for your recipes~~I make your anti-inflammatory "juice" all the time~~ginger, lemon, pineapple, spinach, celery~~usually throw an apple in there, too (and cranberries when I can get them). Love it!
Loved the video . Was going to buy a juicer but I have a vita mix . I didn’t realize I could make juice with it. I have had my blender for 18 yrs. it truly was worth the money . I can’t live without it. I would like to upgrade and get a new one when I can . Keep the videos coming . I like the fact that you were real , not a 30 min.sales pitch just to the facts . You were funny also. I will be making juice every morning now and have my smoothies at lunch . Thank you again for all the great information and the fun video.
Definitely works, consistency is not like a smoothie. Very foamy and i blended on 1 for awhile but couldn’t get all the foam off. I ended up opening the lid, blend on one and stir some of the foam down, helped a bit.
I just came across your video after just buying a Vitamix used off of eBay and I'm Amazed the Breville that I've had had always jammed up I just made banana kale and spinach
i use the nutribullet (900watt) and i make this every morning, and bring to work. the blend is. chia seeds, lots of spinach. carrots, a bit of mango and. some lime (i prefer lime over lemon in terms of flavor) and a dash of general red chili pepper. i love that stuff and i bring it to work every morning

Awesome! Super helpful! Pepper Seeds do not contain heat, it is the little placental ridges on the inside of the peppers that holdnthe kick:) If you really don't want heat just cut that out and you can throw in the entire pepper. Seeds do add bitterness and absorb some of the heat from the placental ridge but are not going to kick up the heat level overall. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Placental ridges! I know exactly what you're talking about. In a knife skills class, they showed us how to slice them out. Thanks for watching and the good feedback, Colleen. :)
Thank you so much for this recipe. I printed it out and going to start drinking this every day. Makes it so convenient having it made for several days. :D I have a hard time getting my greens in and this will help.
Just bought this to give my granddaughter a healthy juice not the sugar juice from the store. thanks her taste may not be to this one yet but Ill try for me. thanks
Hey LG! I need your help. I have narrowed down my blender choices to 750 new (the refurbished one is only 30 bucks cheaper with two years less warranty, seems like a no brainer) and the ascent series (either the 2500 or 3300) I have never owned a vitamix so anyone would be great. My questions are: 1) on the newer models does the hard clear top where the tamper goes restrict the full use of the tamper - with the rubber top, I assume you can move tamper around more freely because of the flexibility of the rubber design. And 2): how much has the company worked out the technology kinks with ascent models ( including container not being recognized/ error messaging)? The ascent economically is good at 519 new vs 599 750 new. Which I'm not sure from a marketing stance means what. It's only 20 bucks cheaper than the top ascent and it's been out longer. Is there something being noted from the cost and the 3 extra years of warranty that speaks to the quality or because of the digital nature of the ascent the extra years are tagged on? I'm obviously, trying to figure this out. I say this all respectfully. Just a woman who like to be informed.
The people at Vitamix have known that the machines last far longer than the 7 year warranty. We get dozens of emails saying they've had theirs for 20 years. So the added cost to the company for the extra few years warranty is pretty small. And I think they figure it will be offset by the increase in demand for a machine that comes standard with a 10-year full warranty. Does that kind of answer your question? Email me if it doesn't. -LG :)
Life is NOYOKE kinda... I am still curious about the first part to my question about the tamper on plastic instead of with rubber. What is is you email or where can I find it, please?
Missed the first part. (I think you posted your question twice and it didn't have the first part? Either way, my mistake.) Here's our contact: lifeisnoyoke.com/contact/

I purchased a vitamix ascent 2300 but when mine blends it doesn’t do it as calm as this or other vitamix’ machines, it creates a ton of air in it so when I make full blends like this I end up with a ton of froth.. even when layering the same way as this.. what am I doing wrong? Or is there something not right with my machine? Also I always start it at 1 and work my way up to highest speed yet as soon as the blades turn on it splatters all through the jug no matter what I seem to be making...

This looks delicious and I am learning so much from your videos. I can't wait to try this drink, even with the Jalapeño and Ginger in it! I have started introducing myself and my husband to drinking 'green' by adding baby spinach and baby kale (just a small handful for now) into our morning smoothies. So far it tastes great! As (I'm pretty sure) we said in our review, it's for people who like to follow precise recipes. And since the app isn't truly social (yet), we only use it to measure our coffee in the morning. But, for people who like to experiment with new recipes, it's a nice accessory. :)

Green juices have greens mainly, may be 1 apple

The recipe onthe site says 4 cups water! not 400mL - which is closer to 2 cups
Yup it’s 4 cups. 🙏
what if you dont like cold drinks? can you do without the ice?
Yeah! Substitute water for most of the ice😀
Not a good idea. The friction of the high speed blender causes heat to build up which kills nutrients. That's why you need ice.
