    Yes Motorweek, I always go by the seat of my pants. My base Civic feels like a 8 second 0-60 until I add a fart can and a two level spoiler and then by the seat of my pants it feels like a 4.0 second 0-60 car!

    LOL I Just got done watching the Smoking tire's Type R video at Road Atlanta. The demand for these are out of control along with the over MSRP pricing. I think it's time for Honda to consider making another Type R Accord but this time bring it to North America. I truly would be interested in one in a few years to buy as my "dad mobile" to get my son around town in! I'm in love with that blue.

    • @turbo311
      @turbo311 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Acc0rd79 People are falling for lies and propaganda spread online and by dealerships that the CTR is a one year only limited production. This is an utter fabrication. Honda will continue to make as many as they can. Prices will normalize in a year or two.

    • @Acc0rd79
      @Acc0rd79 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      no one said they wouldn't make more. what I would like to see is a bigger car in the Accord and bring a Type R version to the USA, say 350hp or more like 400hp. The demand is there for Type Rs, I think it's time to bring more to the states.

    • @JamaicanMeCrazy
      @JamaicanMeCrazy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acc0rd79 I agree but I can live with the current Accord sport 2018 with a manual

    • @psewgobind
      @psewgobind 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming the 2.0T with manual can't easily overpower the chassis, I also would be content with current 2018 Accord... Demand for Type-R can easily be sated by making R version of coupe/sedan in North America plant. If other manufacturers up their game and cut into sales, introducing a new R version is easiest thing to do to keep ridding that wave.

    *FK8 Type R*
    0-60 in 5.2-5.7s
    1/4m in 13.7-14.2 @ 102-106mph
    I'm being generous with the trap speed. I've never seen higher than 105mph but have heard they can hit 106mph trap.
    *Focus RS*
    0 to 60 in 4.6-4.8s
    1/4m in 13.0-13.3@103-105mph
    *Golf R*
    0 to 60 in 5.1-5.4s (manual) / 4.5-4.7s (DSG)
    1/4m in 13.7-13.8@102-103mph (manual) / 12.8-13.1@104-106mph (DSG)
    *The car and driver review where it ran the FK8 was a PRE PRODUCTION model with more boost* c/d clearly states that in their next test.
    Most people can barely get the FK8 into the 13s.
    Truth. And please Honda fanboys, let me know if you need proof.

      @300zxttswap6 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even if it did run a 13.6, which it did in *one* video, you need to remember that Honda sends out non stock cars for comparison tests.
      Car and Driver stated that in their second review of the Type R, where it did 13.8@103 in the quarter mile.
      I know what they run, I work on them. They can't get under a 13.7 ET, and average trap is 103mph. Most people have trouble getting it into the 14s.
      Best I've seen is 13.78@105.1mph. Very similar to my stock 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. My business partner has a pristine, all stock 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, and from a dig he had 2 car lengths on the Type R at 150mph. He's raced more than one, and from a dig that VR4 destroys them. He runs 13.1-13.2@103-105mph, best of 13.08@104.8mph (he saved the time slip).
      The Type R is slow stock. With mods it's quick, but stock it's high 13s / low 14s all day.

The rear fenders have that lip to them to deflect the laminar airflow coming along the chassis, away from the turbulent air pockets of the wheels.
