6:43 passivestar addon is great but ramdomize transform is actually in built in blender , on top bar go to object > transform > randomize transform :)

how did you get that outer transparent layer in his skin? almoast like a glossy coat but seperated from the original mesh. Is it just duplicating the mesh and adding something like a glass texsture to it?
yup! duplicated the mesh > alt + S to fatten mesh > apply principled BSDF with transmission set to 1 and IOR set to 1.02
