Great video, love the affordable enclosure, looks awesome! So the little guy you there is Pogona henrylawsoni, they are a different species from the larger ones you see, there are actually several beardie species! The smaller species are actually quite arboreal in nature and are often kept in outdoor vertical enclosures that mimic a dessert version of a chalmeon enclosure. I saw one sleeping within tall grass at the Perth Zoo, really cool!! Anyways, info dump over. I’m always excited to hear about kids that love reptiles! ❤
To help with the chipping problem, put painters tape along the cut line (with the line in the middle of the tape) and cut! To be safe put it on both sides to reduce the chance of chipping.
I love using excavator clay in enclosures. I have my Leo in a 40gal with about 40ish pounds pf excavator clay. I have caves and hill and it's super cool. My Leo loves it and is thriving. He's very friendly and is fine social with me. I have my hognose snakes clay with excavator clay as well but he's temperamental and has.... hissy fits and strikes of wrath. Till you get him out of his home. Then he just explores after masking a little.
Enjoyed the video Petko, I was rolling laughing at the "I almost died" So Funny. Enjoyed watching the build also. Thank you for brightening up my afternoon.
17:00 I swear captive bred reptiles have problems idk if it's inbreeding, artificial selection or what but damn these things would have a hard simply surviving in the wild lol.
She’s adorable! Looks in good health for a bad beginning. (It’s easy to tell the sex, btw.) I recommend you use a screen top to give her more air and you can put the UVB fixture directly on the screen. UVB should be ~8-10 inches from dragon. Can’t do that with plexiglass. Of course Melissa Kaplan is the world authority on bearded dragons. Check her out on the internet. Good luck with her. After giving mine a truly amazing selection of roaches, worms and veggies she has decided she likes arugula the best. Good thing the Albertsons grocery store near me sells fresh arugula. (very high in nutrients with the correct ratio of Ca/K.) Of course she also loves hornworms, wax worms and superworms. Plz do not feed mealworms. Too much keratin. Plz video when you start taking her shopping with her on your shoulder. They are the best pet!
You didn't watch the entire video :p My friend keeps her(? never tried to determine the sex lol) And I added the plexiglass on the edge, the rest is open
Yay, I always loved mini. Glad to see him back! But is this the wrong channel I'm watching? Is this "bright den"? I've never seen anything but black building components on Petkos channel before 😂
@@TheDarkDen You already answered me on another comment, Petko, lol, mb. Would it possible to catch a glimpse of him at some point, we haven't seen him for ages! 🙏😁
Not really. They do just fine without much handling. This guy has hundreds of animals. Not each one needs to be personalized. Sometimes observing nature is just as fine.
for north american fans, this content is pretty boring but let me explain why. our main retails in the us and canada are like petsmart, petco (lol for real), and places like that. because these big corporations are always money-obsessed, they sells TONS of beardies. theyre fairly hearty as far as lizards go, and the equipment sales that come along with it are worth it for them. the end result though is that both canada and the us are saturated with these lizards, and they are like the default or go-to for any beginner keeper. they are everywhere, and you can find folks trying to rehome then for free without even trying. so i mean its a good video, and the enclosure looks good. but the subject matter (beardie) is soooo overdone for us. thanks for making vids anyway!
He is so cute you really do need to show him more into your videos
I thought you meant Petko himself for a moment 😆

I think you should also mention that the Bearded Dragon is a native species from Australia ,so that people know where they originated from .

@@TheDarkDen yay, we need to see him soon please! 🙏😁
Where's Despacito?

So are you Mini’s Godfather?
sure 🫣
What happened to Despacito??
nothing xD
would look better with live plants
And… beardies are so people-oriented it’s too bad you don’t have her upstairs with the family.

I would agree with you in regards to the majority of my animals, but it seems like bearded dragons really enjoy the company and interactions
WAY TOOOOOOOOOOOO SMAL
no sand for texture. build rating: 1/10
/s of course petko.
There is not enough tarantula content on thisnchanel anymore,... i am seriously considering unsubscribing...
Then do it we love his content

We have two of these Pygmy Bearded Dragons, also known as Rankin's Dragons.
