I was able to find picture frame glass replacements at my local hobby lobby for about 1$ cheaper and it doesn't come with the back frame but is 2mm and really cheap! Less cuts, cheap sturdy glass, cant go wrong thanks for this idea!
Both the terrarium and the orchid mantis are absolutely stunning! I think you should name it Ghost for 3 reasons: 1. Its colour (obvs) 2. There's a kind of orchid called a ghost orchid (which is very cool imo) 3. We're nearing spooky season! 👻
I think you may reconsider it’s really hard work taking care of a mantis and there endangered in the wild and that’s where they are often taken from and it’s difficult to find a trusted breeder:( there pets but also animals, I’m not gonna tell you what you can or cannot do but I recommend a different species of mantis that are easier and probably a female as there bigger and can’t fly, so be prepared to have a lot of your time dedicated to watching em because they do need to get used to you so holding them around the house is important! ❤ If you want a mantis do your research pleaseeee? /gen This is just informing you of course! Not a hate comment
@ I was talking about the plant, not a flower mantis. Where I live, they are everywhere so I really have no desire to keep one as a pet. They just have very short lives and I figure all of their favorite snacks are outside so they can just keep them in check there lol. It’s nice that you care about them, I too can’t stand when someone gets an animal and then googles it! 💕
Wow! I made my own terrarium in which i used your videos as a guide and I also put my orchid mantis named Scyther (inspired by the Pokemon creature, i like to think of it as a super rare shiny Pokemon) in there. She is doing very well and has made it too adulthood. I would just like to thank you for inspiring me in making my own terrarium and it has brought me a lot of joy. A cool name for your mantis other Scyther is maybe Blossom (just like blossoming flower)
I had an orchid mantis. It died this week. It was a female. 😢. Seeing your small mantis makes me think about the first days i exerienced with mine. I named it Mantismcfly 😅😊
Thanks for explaining how to do the door and make the entire tank! I am making a door for my 1 gallon tank for my jumping spider. Its drying right now so am excited to see if it works! I love your videos so much
I'm blown away by your plant and insect knowledge. You create something that's beautiful and functional. Side note... I love your accent, and you have very nice hands 😃 Hi from Australia 🦘
What an amazing video! I have a slight fear of praying mantis which I intend to get over. I might get myself a pet mantis, as this video was great inspiration :)
🌿 Your channel is outstanding! I truly love the creative ideas you present for terrariums. Each video brings a fresh and exciting perspective. You've helped me understand better how to care for plants and create a green space at home. Thank you for these valuable shares! I'm really looking forward to your next videos!
What a beautiful terrarium and lovely little creature to call it home! Another commenter suggested “Arcadia” for the name, which I really love as an idea! I also like other fey-themed names: Sylph, Seelie, maybe even Tinkerbell for a female. Gods and goddesses of hunting or of spring (i.e. sources of flowers) could also be great name sources, once the mantis is old enough to know which gender to use!
I currently have 2 of these and they have grown fast! They are also really cute to have. I also have a Ghost Mantis, Timor Shield Mantis, Darth Vader Mantis, Giant Australian Mantis, Spiny Flower Mantis that is now fully grown up! I really suggest the spiny flower mantis as they have a beautiful wing design! 😃
I love it! I am planning a similar terrarium for an orchid mantis I hope secure in 6 months. This video is awesome! Thank you! I grow orchids. My grandmother named me Orquidia, after her orchids. I am naming my mantis Orchidee (the French name for Orchid).
That tiny mantis is super cute! I saw a single one of those jewel orchids (or something very similar - dark green leaves with almost neon yellow veins) at a local flower shop a couple years ago and I was so tempted to buy it because those leaves are so gorgeous, but I decided not to in the end since most of my plants always end up dying. Haven't been seen another one since then.
I always thought those Springtails were such a nuisance when I would explore forests as a child. But now I see they have such a specific purpose, and once again, I’m in awe of how detailed God is in creation. It was incredible seeing your work come to life! Thank you for sharing 🤎
Such a great work.. I love the mantis, such a cutie! :D Im currently on my second enclosed terrarium in a jar. The first one died out because I have put it in a direct sunlight. I hope the second one will survive much longer :)
The orchid mantis is so cute! I love those little guys, they're so tiny! Is it going to grow much bigger than that? I know they live on tropical flowers in the wild.
Interesting to see someone making an aquarium from scratch. In where I am we can buy a number of different types of aquariums including terrarium types and we can custom order one from scratch (quite expensive to custom order it but it’s possible). I think here there are a lot of aquarium enthusiasts more than over there. But I think I can customize a ready made one to my liking as I didn’t like any of them for my liking without custom ordering. It has always been either it would be nice if it was like this or like that. Only thing I may do it differently is, I would create a drainage in the back of the glass with a hole and put a pipe through it or the bottom of it. Most plants do better longer with a drainage in it. You can maintain a better conditions for your substrate too by refreshing the leca by saturating the bottom with the drainage hole to drain extra water. How often do you change the substrate? The sphagnum moss also needs to be replaced every once in a while as it disintegrates. So I would make it more accessible to replace it and don’t mount the plastic permanently like that.
Awesome vid as usual and gorgeous looking end result. Do you have plans for this specific viv? Would love to know the measurements, I've even managed to find these exact frames
Hi, do you think this kind of terrarium would be good (maybe making it a bit bigger) for a stick insect? and maybe to keep the humidity level i can add a nebulizer with a humidity sensor
Hello, I'm building my first terrarium in a large, old, pyrex vessel from a dairy. It's a great container but is deep. Please can you tell me what the mister you use is with a long nozzle.
I have a question for a shrimp aquarium? Is it ok to keep two cherry shrimp and if so can they both be males. And if not what would be a good shrimp to have that doesn’t reproduce mich
Wow really like your terrarium. It courages to make one of my own for our prayin mantis❤ After 120 days, it looks likes there is coming steam out of the terrarium when you open it. At which temperature did you let it grow? And did you use a daylight lamp for it or just normal natural daylight?
Could you put a like for the glass you used please... struggling to find the right ones ... love the videos btw I'm going to try my 1st attempt at making one... but not with the mantis
Check out my terrarium making Ebook, It’s perfect for beginners! terrariumdesigns.co.uk/products/ebook
Is there a physical copy coming in the future?
You should make a paludarium focusing on miniature/small leaf plant types
Ebook might be the only way i can enjoy the content you make..... as long as you dont narrate it....
I love the ingenuity of using picture frame glass!
Thanks mate, I appreciate it!

A bonus tip is you can cut that glass under water with scissors, which is especially nice when you need specific custom pieces
I like the facial expression of the Mantis in the thumbnail.
:3
There was a face of praying mantis at the thumbnail??
bende
Why does this make sense and why do i agree
@sofiacepeda8442 It's a Zen thing 🍻

It's a really good name suggestion ima be honest if I came up with a name it would be much worse 😂
6:10 had me shook. Had no idea silicone could do that
May u suggest a video, a day in the life video. Showing you daily routine of maintaining all of you terrariums and how much time it takes
up!!!!
Yeaaaaa! Because orchid mantis are endangered so it may discourage people from buying them who don’t know what there doing
@@RanEdgar-ok3wk They're not endangered, you can literally go on google and order one of these right now.
I finally made a terrarium with jungle vibes based on your old video. It was so cool!
Thanks great to hear!😃
Great project, and I LOVE the Orchid Mantis. Have had a tattoo of one over a yin/yang for many years.
Amazing video, I have never seen someone who made it so easy to build something themselves, amazing content I hope you get a million subs
I think when the mantis gets bigger you should put some orchid flowers in there too, so it can blend in to catch prey
Pretty mantis. The mini-rainforest terrarium is gorgeous! Wonderful video!
You should make a good air flow with these ones cuz Hymenopus coranatus (orchid mantids) are realy sensitive to mold. This might not be enough
Boostin this!:0 I’m happy you care! I’m sure this guy cares to! So he probably wants to see this!
Oooo the jeweled orchid is stunning! I need one! 💕 🌱

I would love to own a terrarium built by you. That's just amazing craftsmanship right there
I can't wait to see how this tank ages! You have a talent for nature scaping.💚
Thank you!😃

Sorry to hear that:( that is such a great name!😅
There resting in peace now! It’s ok:( I’m sorry for your loss tho
I love Orchid Mantis!!!!
Can't wait! Getting my terrarium tomorrow and getting it ready for my mantis. You're amazing at what you do.work of are
Thanks for explaining how to do the door and make the entire tank! I am making a door for my 1 gallon tank for my jumping spider. Its drying right now so am excited to see if it works! I love your videos so much
Mantis always the coolest insect

@@TerrariumDesigns I did, I really did 😃 and you're welcome 😃

Omg what a cutie! And what a beautiful home! I think their name should be Vivian ❤

Stunning work, super informational and very easy to follow! Love the idea of using picture frame glass- genius 🔥 ❤
Lotus would be a really cool name.
The preying mantis color scheme reminds me of The White Lotus group name from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
What a beautiful terrarium and lovely little creature to call it home!

orchid mantises are so rare in the hobby nowadays. theyre so sought after and quite overcharged ahaha
Орхидейный богомол - красавчик! И вы сделали для него замечательный дом! ❤
Petal for name it is so beautiful and delicate looking.
Oh and gorgeous terrarium 💕
I will definitely be trying to build one of these for sure . I think you should call the Mantis Aurora Illumination & Beauty.
I came here for the mantis but ended up with really great tips for working with glass
cannot wait to see it in bloom!!
Wow! So relaxing to watch you create this amazing terrarium. New subscriber.
My mom would love this!
Just amazing creativity and biological knowledge
Great terrarium for an orchid, mate. There are quite a few other mantis that would appreciate this level of humidity as well!
This is so impressive, you’re an inspiration
Orchid mantises are my favourite mantis
This is an amazing build I hope this terrarium last a very long time.
I always thought those Springtails were such a nuisance when I would explore forests as a child. But now I see they have such a specific purpose, and once again, I’m in awe of how detailed God is in creation.

Orchid Mantis looks really cute. I'd name it Daisy 🥰
This was super neat. Cool stuff!~
Such a great work.. I love the mantis, such a cutie! :D
Im currently on my second enclosed terrarium in a jar. The first one died out because I have put it in a direct sunlight. I hope the second one will survive much longer :)
I made the same mistake on my first one:( it’s all about learning 😃
My type of tank. Thanks for sharing
Wow, beautiful build. I must sub without hesitating :-)
Blossom for the name!!
Can you do a terrarium room tour? You and Tanner Serpa should do scape competition.
You make such amazing videos 😎👌🏻
Beautiful design, well done
i think the name blossom would be great!
Three thumbs up! Great video. Thanks! New subscriber!
Lil dude looks like an Angel to me

Que genial amigo, cuales son las medidas?, le agradezco.
great video, really enjoyed it
Such a beautiful build. Can I ask what kind of lighting do you use so the plants thrive like that?
arcadia is a nice name
i love this video so much!!
As Homemade Ecosystems would say, Bob would be the perfect name
the door hang, WOW
So peaceful to watch that amazing creation. What about Luna as her name?
S/he’s beautiful!! For some reason I’m thinking Petunia as a name LOL
beautiful!
Awesome vid as usual and gorgeous looking end result. Do you have plans for this specific viv? Would love to know the measurements, I've even managed to find these exact frames
Ghost is a good name😊
Enjoy this video. Jewel sounds like a fitting name. :)
Exciting!
Make one also for jumping spider
But if you do, please don't put a picture of it in the thumbnail.
Aww the mantis is so cute! I think they name should be Viola
Absolutely stunning setup! I’ve looked around and cannot find a place to get an orchid mantis, where would you or anyone recommend?
Orchidna for the name
Hi, do you think this kind of terrarium would be good (maybe making it a bit bigger) for a stick insect? and maybe to keep the humidity level i can add a nebulizer with a humidity sensor
where can i find moss sheets like that ? i alaways find the moss thats all brown at start.
Great build!
Out of interest what are the dimensions of the glass tank?
Wow!!!!!!👏👏👏
How do you lock your terrarium to keep the mantis from escaping?
What type of lights do you use?
I checked and scapes link you gave and their not online?

Hey, just subscribed. You should make a vid for the plants you use.
So for a build like this, how often are you opening it and misting it down? And what kind of light regimen is it?
He said a couple of times a week.
Where does one obtain these springtails? I've tried different sources, my local pet store doesn't even know what they are! I'm in Canada.
Could you put a like for the glass you used please... struggling to find the right ones ... love the videos btw I'm going to try my 1st attempt at making one... but not with the mantis
May I ask what kind of light was used?
Where can I get frameless picture frames frome
I think Gimbus is a great name for the little guy
