  • Here is a Install guide for the Cobb SF Intake. After the install I take the car to the streets to see if its making more boost and to see how the intake sounds. Also at the end I did a showcase of the Burble tune by brentuning! IT'S LOUD! If you enjoyed hit the like button and subscribe for more videos :)

    Thank you for the detailed video! So many install videos have the OEM magically disappear and the COBB SF magically assembles itself 😂

    I just ordered my SF intake and AP this morning. Can’t wait. I live in Hawaii so I’ll never get to have 49f temperatures to hit boost in though😂

      Exciting! :) Methanol injection would work out great in your case ;) Would definitely help with cooling that motor down and increase power 😋

    Nice, now I'm able to purchase this intake for a long while now, now that is legal in California with its E.O number officially on the board. Also what was your peak boost when you were stock, I peaked at 18.3 2020 STI Stock with just a remark axleback

    • @GR8GUY54

      How do we know if the intake has an EO number? I have the 2021 STI and hear firmware support should be out on a few weeks but is that indicative of and actual EO number? I'm confused but trying to learn.

    • @legionn9338
      @legionn9338 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GR8GUY54 If you go to Cobbs website and put your specific vehicle in the specifications, go towards either the stage package or just the intake, and right under emissions it'll say 50 State Legal.
      This part is legal for sale and use on Emissions Controlled Vehicles in all 50 states when used in accordance with the manufacturer's application guide because it has a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number:, assuming yours is up to date, they'll have the E.O number right there for example mine is D-660-17

    Assuming you've got a stock dp.. hows that holding up with burble tune?

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Finch Station I only had the burble on the car for a day or so, after that I flashed a different map. So I didn’t really experience it to much to be able to give a good idea on how it would be after a few months on a stock down pipe .

    Hi, I'm about to do this to my sti 2017. Can i just install the intake without an accesport? Or is it a requirement? Sorry for a noob question as I'm new to modding a car.

    What rpms are you getting most of your crackles around?

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Austin Jones Do you mean the burble tune? When I had it I think it was something like get the car to 3,800 rpm or so and you let off and feather the throttle than it would crackle.

  • @elraggedysti

    Just subscribed today. I have an 18 model also. Installing the SF and accessport voids the warranty, correct? I know it's a personal choice, but no concerns with doing that? First Subaru and turbo car. I want to modify mine and investigating the best bang for the buck route.

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fearnot69 Thank you for the sub! Yea I believe it does void it. Messing with the factory ECU voids it automatically. And some people say the intake doesn’t void it but I would double check with your dealership if that was something you are concerned about :) I got my car of the auction so it didn’t come with a factory warranty so I just decided to send it with the build hahaha 😂

      Update: I don’t have anyone in my life that I can share my excitement, but I installed the SF. Then installed Borla’s cat back yesterday and reflashed it. Now I can say it performs like I expected. I’ve been so disappointed up until now. Forget the warranty. My stage 2 rocks! Now ready for a AOS!

    1- Do you need the Accessport in order to tune the intake? or a visit to a specializing garage can do the job too?
    2- 7:46 What tune did you choose? and why? what do other tunes do? what do they mean?
    3- How do you start and get through screens? you have not explained any.
    4- What do crackles have to do with the intake?
    5- Will I ever get answers for these questions?

    • @BeeAboveAverage
      @BeeAboveAverage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1- Accessport is not required but a tune is highly recommended and can be achieved via the accessport or by going to a shop that does tuning
      2- Since I purchased the Cobb intake I went with the OTS Cobb stage 1 + SF intake map that came pre loaded on the Accessport. Each tune varies for what parts are installed on your vehicle. You want to pick the correct tune.
      3- I have a video on the Accessport in a bit more detail but basically is just plugs into your OBDII port. It has different menus on it and one of those menus are “tune” you would press on that and select the map you want to switch to and flash the car. It’s very easy to use once you have it and see it yourself.
      4- The crackles don’t have anything to do with the intake, it was just something I did for fun just to see how it is. I flashed a different tune on my car afterwards that I had specifically made for the crackles. But it’s not necessarily good for the car so I took it off the next day.
      5- Yes 👍🏼
