So I've been looking for a good install video since I ordered mine a week ago and everyone else's were just terrible when I searched for a instal video, this one showed up in my recommendations and it is by far the best one. You actually showed where everything was and stressed the proper way to install. Good content my guy!
Glad you like it. I had one on my 16 cvt, took it off. Stock is better engineered and doesn't heat soak. Check your intake temps vs stock after running hard and you'll see what i mean.
Bruh this video is by far the best install video I have ever seen. No long talking about this and that just exactly as the video states! Great info great explanation just overall great video👍🏽
This...is a proper install video...thanks bro! And thanks for the comment about the notch at the inlet, that's something I probably would have overlooked.
You did such a great job with this video. Seriously wonderful. You covered everything thoroughly, clearly, and pleasantly. I'm still torn on whether or not to get the intake, but I know precisely how to install it and what to expect if I do. Thanks very much.
Very good video and very detailed. I just ordered the cobb stage 1+ and this is by far the best installation video I've seen thus far. I will be revisiting this once it comes in the mail.
I just installed my Big SF intake today with all the help from your video. Helped so much and the end result I got of turbo noises is insane. And my engine is way louder. Highly recommend going from stage 1 to 1+
COBBerrific instructions that came with the kit Ridiculous that's how COBB rolls. Huge help installing this kit for a client thanks to you. The 1 inch air filter connection on pipe should be made known by COBB. Fitment quality could be better too. Its bolt on but not superb.
Big thank you for this video!!! Just followed it today and was able to get my 2016 WRX running smooth! Highly recommend doing this on any FA WRX, nice power bump and overall the tune is more predictable Also Side Note: I have the newer bracket and I’d argue it’s easier to put in place
@@wrx6622 Uhhh fun fact, the OTS tune from Cobb did not play nicely with my car at ALL… Ended up selling the intake and reverting to a pro tune with a bunch of other parts I got. Including a Grimmspeed intake vs the Cobb one
your video helped my buddy and i today. really appreciate it. do you have any recommendations for specific gauges to keep an eye on for a little while that'll tell us things are all flowing and not leaky? i do have A/F ratio on. any other for this install?
how do you get the psi/ temp / and acceleration on one screen? also if running it for a long period of time without the tune will be horrible or just ill-advised?
15:52 my car doesn't have an under tray to begin with 😂, either way, thank you so much for this detailed video. I could always figure things out myself, but why not use your expert advice when it's available.
They started with the auto again in 2015+, 2008-2014 only had the 5 speed unless you can find an impreza 2.5gt, which is equivalent in power to the 02-08 WRX with an auto and essentially a WRX give or take some features. They only made them from 08-10 Personally, I had a 2013 WRX... The car was great and more raw but the 2015+ is a better car by miles, also my wife has a Forester XT with the CVT, the CVT is fantastic (same one as the WRX)
All intakes you put on this car require a tune IMO no matter what the manufacturer says. it’s altering the air fuel ratio. so your car will need a tune!
So, I definitely don’t want to knock your WRX, but I’ve had a few CVTs now and they all sucked. How does this CVT pair with the FA20? I just don’t see the point in adding “performance parts” to something like this. Also, is there a reason you didn’t go 6speed manual?
Boost & Shutter to put my recent post into perspective, my last car was a Toyota IM (CVT), and it was dreadful to drive lol. That’s what happens when you go from a full bolt-on stage 3 Focus ST. Long story short, it couldn’t pass emissions in Cali, so I jumped into the cheapest car I could find after losing so much money. I know for a fact that your WRX is leaps and bounds better than my last car. Great video overall, I think I’ll do a drop in filter for my WRX, and look for a way to remove the resonator. I just don’t feel like dealing with California’s ridiculous rules.
What happens if an e tuner says that the filter isn’t 1” from the lip of the tube. I thought I measured precisely but after my 6th revision he asked if I followed the 1” rule which has me kind of worried..
Hello sir. Thank you for all the cvt video u put on in TH-cam. I have 1 big question I’m planing to install Cobb intake and accessport. I already have agency power dual exhaust on. I was just wondering how good the ap map is and is it reliable on the long run. I just want a little power so Intake and ap all I want to do more power mod. Should that be okay without protune? Please help me.
Boost & Shutter thank you very much for your time to answer. I will wait your your etune video to come up. But for not it would be ok to just put intake n run stage 1+ for now, and as soon as I can get an etune right.

does the accesport has a big sf map? or just use the stage 1+ sf ?
That was bomb the off the shelf tune from Cobb is stage 1 + big SF
That was bomb it’s required both the intake and catback exhaust

Is a tune a must after installation? Or cleaning? Anytype reset?
