    Im mosty doing static stuff, squats deadlift, if i should add maybe one or two exercises to become a little more athletic and have most carryover, what would you recommend? Highjump? Boxjump? Or something more isometric to deal with potential imbalance?

    A cool super power would be to enjoy the benefits from someone else doing plyo. ;-) John, how long (? seconds or reps) of each plyometric exercise would you recommend teenagers work towards achieving over time?

    • @mountaindog1
      @mountaindog1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      well you build up "contacts" over time. That is when feet hit ground. Some exercises are more intense, like a double broad jump, especially with one leg, so you have to work up progressively to the harder plyos..generally take your time and reset on each one, and do it perfect. You dont' want to do them fatigued and out of breath

    I feel like even something basic like this would be too much for some people. They wouldn't experience the augmentation of force production, they may even get inhibited by the golgi reflex because they're simply not prepared. I would much rather start with squat jumps when you hold the bottom position for a second or two, maybe give them some pogo jumps and then try integrate everything together. What do you think?

    • @mountaindog1
      @mountaindog1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that would be a good progression

      It's called "demonstration purposes". I'd like to see you lift near your max for endless reps while trying to get your filming right. Show me that, then I'll 100% agree with you.
