Fantastic mate I just got a second hand 2019 slayer 10 propel and going from a electric outboard to pedal drive is so much better as I dont have to worry about how far I go well unless I get tired hahaha great work mate looks fab 👌👌👌
Hey man im really curious on how you rigged up your transducer. I see you zipped tied it but anyway you could go a little more indepth on it. By the way awesome set up ill be coming back to do mine probably just like yours.
Other then the car topping and kayak staking issue with the boondox rudder did you see a performance advantage of the boondox vs the burley pro rudder?
Sorry, you might be talking about electrical interference. No issues. The Garmin 93sv has a ferrite core that goes around the power cable that helps with any possible interference.
I've never found the need for an anchor but I know some other guys that do. You can always install an achor trolly or something more elaborate like an anchor wizard.
how did you mount the landing gear?? I am looking to buy landing gear but the new Slayer 10 doesn't have the track mount on the back end of the kayak behind the seat. What did you do?
Michael, what do you think about the native manta ray propel 12 compared to this yak you have? Im deciding between the 2. Any advice would be appreciated
I actually haven't gotten in the Manta Ray, but I will say, the Slayer 10 is most likely going to be much slower than any 12' yak so if you're looking for speed, go Manta Ray.
@@SOCObassin just curious... why would you go with the Titan 10.5? Is it the stability? But the weight difference is pretty significant, huh? I've been looking to get the Slayer 10, and the fact that I can car top it fairly easily is the biggest appeal for me.
I’ve been watching many videos on how to setup my Titan 12 and this is one of the most practical. Thank you.
Glad it helped
Sick set up bro. Thinking of getting this exact kayak and in the future putting in some sonar.
Beast mode, this is an amazing setup. You’ve got it dialed down to perfection
Some great mods and upgrades Michael. I dig the little bunjees that hold the rods into the tubes. Good luck out there.
Thank you for rig walkthrough. Definitely gave me some ideas to consider for mine.
Thanks for sharing your setups. I will copy some of yours. It's very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video man, I just bought a 2021 this wknd... I also subscribed to your channel. Tight lines
Thanks for the sub!
I really enjoyed your video! Thanks for making it.

Thanks!
Great vid. Thanks
If you someday wanted to add a trolling motor (or Torqueedo type motor), would this be possible?
On this model? Yes, but you would need to buy the mounting plate.
What ram ball did you use to screw into the top of the pedal drive. Cant seem to find a 1 inch ram ball with a threaded bolt. Thanks.

literally just drilled the two holes you saw in the video and zip tied the transducer to it. Ran the wires along the drive with more zip ties.
@@SOCObassin so you wrapped the zip ties through the holes and around the transducer?
Oh now I see where did you get that little plate thats attached to the transducer
@@dillonpruitt8635 yessir.
@@SOCObassin ok cool man

A little less resistance in the Berley Pro rudder over the Boonedox. Same tracking upgrade.
Thanks for the walk-through! I’ve never seen a transducer mounted like that - no issues with the propel causing interference?
No issues. Just gotta make sure to line it up so the propeller can clear it.

Do these types of kayaks not need anchoring systems?
I've never found the need for an anchor but I know some other guys that do. You can always install an achor trolly or something more elaborate like an anchor wizard.
How’s the pedal reach for someone 5’2? I’d like it to be comfortable
I have the seat almost all the way up on the track and it’s fine. I’m 5’5”
Does the crate being on top of the rudder control effect it at all ?
I zip tied some pvc tubes underneath the crate so it sits above the rudder control plate.
SOCObassin smart!! Thanks for the tip!!

I suggest buying the rear tracks add on for the new Slayer 10. I don’t suggest mounting landing gear directly to the kayak.
The 2020 slayer 10 does indeed have track mounts in the back. I have one and easily installed track mounted landing gear.
Where did you get the colored pedals
got'em here! amzn.to/30hwuNd

What mount are you using for your fish finder?
RAM mount + track ball. amzn.to/2yNFzBs + amzn.to/2W0iMuh
Is this your first peddle drive kayak? How do you like it. I'm interested in getting same model
. I currently have a feelfree 11.5
Yep, my first pedal drive and it's a great yak overall.
@@SOCObassin if you had a choice..Slayer 10 or titan 10.5?
Probably the Titan 10.5
