    Thank you! I'm trying to find in the future for a lighf pedal drive J bar rooftop kayak. I really like the Hobie Lynx. Wendell has the Native Slayer Max but I didn't know they had a 10ft version

      Lynx is phenomenal. The propel 10 is a great lightweight option as well.
      Thanks for watching!

    I really like my Riot Mako/Lost Creek Angler 10 pedal drive kayak! Super affordable, lightweight and simple! It’s not the best kayak on the market but to me it’s great. I’ve rigged it with RAILBLAZA accessories and camera mounts.

    Love the videos you've been putting out! As a kayak shop owner myself, I like seeing videos like this. In our shop, the Vibe Makana 100 and Feelfree Moken 10PDL have been stars in that lower weight PDL category. I'd like to see Jackson come out with something smaller and lighter than the Bite FD.

      I talked to my rep the other day. I told him they need to bring the OG Coosa back

      @@thebeardedpaddler That would be nice. Boats seem to be getting bigger, heavier, and wider. While boats like the Knarr are great for big eater tournaments, there is still a need for smaller lighter craft.

      @@chandlercole5156 I actually think the industry is shifting a bit to lighter craft. We are seeing an uptick in Hobie Lynx, Native Falcons, and Bonafide RVR119 lately

    Good review. I'd be curious how it compares to the bite FD. Yes the bite is 20lbs heavier but I'm curious where that extra weight comes into play (likely in the extra length mostly but curious if the plastic is thicker) Also curious how the drives compare. I love the flex drive setup that will retract if something is it when moving forward.
    It makes sense that a shorter kayak doesnt track as well as thats normal. Everything in kayaking is a tradeoff.

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bite fd is a little longer and a little beefier. I probably prefer the Bite FD for creeks and rivers. The Propel 10 is great for someone going solo and needs a lighter platform. Slayer max 10 and Titan max 10.5 would be more comparable to the Bite FD

      @@thebeardedpaddler good info. As always its nice to see how different brands and models compare.
      While ive not used the current flex drive, it seems solid and I love how its able to retract out of the way when hitting obstructions. Based on reviews it seems its solid and refined.

      @@MysticalDragon73 the new Mark VII drive is really nice. It's belt driven and internally lubricated. Very smooth and quiet compared to pre-2022 flex drives that were gear driven

    Great videos man super informative and appreciate how you keep it honest with your likes and dislikes about it 🤙🏽
    Looking for a kayak I can do some large lake bass fishing and shallow river fishing as well. I was looking at the passport 10.5, compass, manta ray 120 PDL, or this. Wanted a lighter kayak not necessarily shorter since I’m a smaller dude 5’7” 150ish. Any suggestions? I feel like river and large lakes are a bit opposite in terms of ideal kayak designs

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Jackson pedal drives are the best in river and creeks due to the ability to perform in shallow. The compass and passport R series are good because they are also good paddling kayaks without the drive in.
      Thanks for watching!
