I like how there are only about 15 basic questions here and native has responded to none of them. This should give everyone a clear example of their customer service priorities. I love my Slayer 13 Propel, but the drive train is a pain in the ass. I'm going to the competition next time. Over the last 7 years I've had nothing but trouble with it and native has done NOTHING. Capacity Sports in Melbourne have helped me enormously. Native won't even reply to an email or answer a basic question, plus their prices are ludicrous these days.
Yep, I was right. Both boats lower bearing are noisy and grinding if left standing. Washed mine EVERY time it was used. Off to a Marine mechanic to get them replaced i reakon. I'll contact Native first though.
I'll do this with mine, but I'm betting the noisey behavoiur of mine will be the sealed bearings on the shaft itself. They might be sealed but they mustn't seal as well as they should. Will post again after I've done this.
Do you have any idea where we can buy a new propel pedal drive. can you recommend me please. I have mine but drop into the deep water when my kayak was flipping up and I did not lock my pedal. So if you could can you recommend me please? I've been looking for where I should get a new one same like in your video. Thanks

I purchased an earlier model of the Native Watercraft. I would like to replace the propeller, but mine does not have a bolt at the end of the propeller, but it has 2 small holes on the side of the propeller instead. What tool do I need to remove this propeller ? Thanks
@@tyg3r09 There is a small hole on the side of the propeller that you stick a small allan wrench in to remove the screw. I tried that but it is too tight and I stripped the head of this screw . I ended up cutting this propeller off using the Dremel tool and purchased the new propeller for $29 and a new propel weed guard cartridge for $99. It is much more efficient now and also weedless. Hope this will help.
Thank you for your inquiry. This sound and feel could be the result of a few possibilities. First is a damaged bearing or bearings within the unit. Also, one of the transmission screws holding the gears onto the center cast or lower cartridge may be dislodged. The last possibility could be that the locknut securing the drive cap gear has pulled away from the gear. All of these possibilities require opening up the propel unit for discovery and repair. BIG Adventures recommends authorized service centers for this purpose. The 701 series has a five year warranty from the time of purchase. Contact your dealer for information on how to submit a warranty claim for repair. Out of warranty propel owners can also contact dealers for information on service centers near them.
Hi once you remove the crank arms I notice that there is no cover or seal around the bearing and clip. Is that normal? Also my crank arms don't push on very far and are hard to get off?

True native needs to answer emails. Haven't answered any or mine.
good morning, great video, could you tell me the key brand you use to loosen the various parts of the pedals? Thank you
John Raffaghello it is recommended that you do maintenance on your propel every 6 months.

I have only, in the last week, received the parts to fix this...free of charge but I posted my original comment in 2013...shitty service in Australia!
What kind of grease?
How often do you normally grease the drive?

Do you know what size the cranks are I may need to swap them out for shorter ones
Nativewatercraft has replacement parts for these on their website. I bought some just to keep on hand in case.
Any advice on getting the lower piece off with the spanner wrench, mine is so tight ,can't break it loose. It's insanely tight
I know this is late but I’d try some penetrating oil, love that stuff
Where can I get that damn spanner wrench from?
I am looking also.Did you ever find one?
Get the OTC 6613 wrench off Amazon
When I go in forward my drive is smooth, when I go in reverse it feels like its grinding, a bit sticky and sometimes it gets stuck. Whats wrong?
