  • The RC4WD C2X Mojave II Class 2 Competition Ready To Run Truck found here snp.link/8701ddc9 is loaded with new and some existing features we’ve seen from the scale off-road authorities for some time. This truck is topped off with the Mojave II 4-door body that has been painted and trimmed and even detailed for an awesome scale look. A utility bed gives it a more custom look in the rear and fits right into the true off-road enthusiast look. Under the body is a new chassis that has been optimized for improved performance on the trails and on courses. The suspension features metal links, aluminum shocks, 3-link up front and 4-link in the rear. New plastic D44 axles house metal internals and the R3 transmission/ Hammer transfer case combo sends power to them. But there’s more, this is an RTR so it has a worthy electronics package out of the box for those who want to go right into competition or those who want good electronics to start their scale explorations. Looking for that all around truck that will suit many scale off-road needs? The C2X appears to be that truck. Let us know what you think about it!

    Thanks for the upload! Very entertained by the footage and the thorough explanation of the vehicle. Especially impressed by the fact that the C2X was not babied when driven through all sorts of terrain. As I've never had a hardbody, this intrigues me a great deal. Would refer the regular cab body, but then hiding the electronics would have been harder. Could see purchasing one, though those electronics would likely be swapped right away - but that's just because I have a preference for certain equipment there. Also, though the front bumper works well, it would need to be replace with something likely made of steel (help a bit with that front weight) and not covering the headlights as the included one does. With a little custom paint detailing, decals, my own choice of wheels and tires, and a rollbar for the bed (which I'm certain that RC4WD will release soon), could be one of my favorite rigs! A much appreciated video...

  • @DargoDog

    First, those look like AWESOME places to crawl, that build course looks like a lot of fun!!!! Like most of RC4WDs offerings, that truck looks really good. But, most of their RTRs and kits are, for the most part, junk. Those of us who have suffered through a TF2 or two (in my case, three), know all to well about the endless upgrades required to get those trucks so that they preform to at least an RTR level. Given the price of these kits, and given the amount of money that has to be sunk into them, the whole mess is almost insulting; at the end of the day you have a $1000 rig that almost preforms as well as an $300 Axial RTR. So, as a result, those of us who have had RC4WD kits in the passed are very weary about this particular truck. It actually looks like they did a good job with it, but given other options on the market like the Element, why risk it?

    • @JViello
      @JViello 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to agree with you. It's a shame too as RC4WD were poised to become a top contender back in the day. Now? Eh. For $500 I just picked up the RedCat Gen8 Axe edition. Unbelievable rig for the price. As for the "build course" you have no idea! That was a small FRACTION of that place. It's RC Madness in Enfield CT. Probably one of the best crawler tracks in the country, no exaggeration. Easily 15,000-20,000 square feet of insane obstacles and variety. Very fortunate to have it local to us. I think they have a channel on YT if you search it up. I'm sure they have more footage of the course.

    I love to look at that four door and also the size and the Tire setup I think it's just missing a regular truck bed and was cut to make like a dovetail or whatever they call it when it's cut and made narrower at the tailgate. I can't remember right off what it's called when it's done like that. But either way that's a very nice rig for straight out of the box. Throw some portals in a winch I don't believe there's anywhere that thing couldn't go

    It's a great looking rig. I can't say I wouldn't take one if RC4WD gave me one AND say good things about it.
    But here's my take , right or wrong...it's just what I see; the wagon wheels, shocks, tires, plastic axle and body don't sell very well. So they use them on a cobble together RTR.
    Here's why:
    1. The wagons don't hold a bead very well and hard to put together. We all know this.
    2. The Mickey Muds are a great tire but they collect dust on the shelves compared to the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's that seem to be out of stock alot. You never see the Muds on the trail.
    3. I have those shocks and I don't use them. That's enough said on those.
    4. The Plastic axles...tho , they steer much better than before they still have huge , outdated ring and pinion that hang down way too far.
    5. The double cab Yota , sure , it looks good...but..nobody is building/buying it. They want a single cab...Marlin, kit or custom home-brewed....you just don't see the long wheelbase TF2...occasionally , yes.
    Typical rtr electronic's that'd I'd sell-off.
    But like I said....it's a great looking rig. Good review Greg.
    You made it look way less "jumpy" than I seen in other videos. Lots of varying Terrain which was cool.

    The price is high, so I have a question. How does this model compare to the TRX-4 or VS-4? Maybe even with Axial 2? It costs the same (VS-4 a little more). And in my country they say that the RC4WD makes models unsuitable for the terrain. How about the strength of the parts?

    I’m torn between this truck or the Marlin . Every truck I own is a Rc4wd ( I have a regular tf2 and the Desert Runner ) and I’ve always had nothing but good luck with them . I know they are two entirely different types of trucks , springs vs leafs etc etc . I don’t comp or anything like that mainly just trail stuff should I stick with the Marlin or give this one a shot ?

    • @SwampersRC
      @SwampersRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can make your standard TF2 a Marlin with a few changes so for the money I would definitely get one of these. I have a TF2 lwb and a custom scx10 (short wheel base) and they're almost equal , they just have to be driven a little differently. If I could get a new ride right now,this would be it.

    Very cool looking but that chassis is not very scale nor would it be aloud in any class under class 2 becouse the chassis isnt c channel rails. It looks like the panhard is at a bad angle to. At $500 I'll stick with my axial stuff my scx10.2 with all the upgrades was half that max That rc4wd crazy over priced!
    Imo Rc4wd is super cool looking but isn't worth there price for complete kits and rtr trucks. When none are really rtr. You always have to spend extra to shim there diffs even in a rtr or they blow out in 3 runs and they snap drive lines right away to you have to upgrade them first thing to. The plastic axles housing are cool should slide better and don't look like they will snap near as easy as a standard tf2 pot metal axle! 😂
