If there was an award for RC truck of the year you would get for this truck. Stunning. Wish I had luck with those paint pens never seem to work for me. Well you out did your self.🏜😎🍻🍻🍻 I would probably put it on the shelf and stare at it all day

Cool video came out a day before my 45th birthday! I had an actual Toyota Hi-Lux 1980 in this color, it was a long bed 4spd 4WD. I got towed for parking in a no parking zone. Lost the truck as they wanted $1300 to get the truck out of the impound and related towing fees, I told them to pound sand. I do miss that truck did allot of crawling with it in the late 90's.

Why do you have springs and leafs up front? Thought the leafs replaced the coil overs
That’s how they come. The scale shocks are not oil filled from the factory. Most people use a heavy grease and remove the spring inside of it.
Awesome video, what colors did you use for the testers enamel on the lenses?
The orange is turn signal amber and the red is stop light red metallic. both have a lot of sparkle in them and work great painting inside the lens

what kind of paint did you use to give the effect of aging? like a patina? Brown? it was sensational, excellent technique, I intend to do it in one of my rc. Thanks 👍
It a product called ak interactive rust streaks that I put in over the sanded blue paint. It works like a stain, put it on and wipe it off, how long it sets give you more or less of the effect

These I’m not sure. Got them on a trade.
What varnish did you use to paint the turn signal and stop?
I use testors translucent enamel for the lenses. Stop light red and signal yellow I think are the names.
Beautiful build and reference for my build when it arrives. What are the paint pens you used please? Can you provide a link or name for the chrome and also the black.
The black is a testors enamel. The chrome is Molotov brand. Both are sold at hobby lobby or most craft stores.
@@RCeveryday ah I did wonder. Unfortunately Testors products are hard to source in UK. I’m going to experiment with liquitex acrylic paint markers. Should still bond to the acrylic based spray paint. I have an airbrush but using a pen is easier and a genius idea. Thanks for the tip.

It can still fit a standard stick pack, but Im running a short 3cell.. Only issue would be a large lipo with upward facing connectors

It is an AK brand rust streak, it stains the paint.

I started with a rustoleum satin.
Looks great. How do you like the 1.9 wheels with the 4.19 voodoo knockoffs.
They actually felt great. But I swapped them for some 1.55s already

I went with one of the new rc4wd goodyear duratraks.

@@RCeveryday Great paint job. I just bought the Rustoleum satin navy and the cap looks like a much deeoer blue than your body. Also for your paint prep. Did you use any other grit sand paper other than the 1000 grit mentioned in the video. Thanks

Primer? The rust layer is ak products rust streaks. Goes on top of the color paint.

He's using a German brand of liquid chrome markers called Molotow.

Any difference between the kit and the rye besides getting to pick your own electronics. Just curious if their kits have special upgrades like others do
The kit version has a 2 speed transmission. That’s about it. All of mine are single speed trucks. Not into 2 speeds. The marlin crawler version rtr is the best bang for buck. Has a few upgrades already.
