Ended up curious about how 'ol Johnny Sekiro would hold up in this content of wills, so I booted it up and gave it a try myself. With no revives, in the poison pool, he lasts a paltry 1:29.41, or so. However, if we were to hammer on the revive as soon as possible, it ends up at around 2:26.75! Add in a Dragon's Droplet to revive twice, that goes to a respectable 3:24.83 by my mark. Putting Wolfy boy in 4th place out of 6! Can't parry stank gas, sadly.
@@laharlkent This is with all prayer beads, yes! Unless I'm unaware of things other than prayer beads that can increase the lil dude's health temporarily?
if you include max resistances, DS2 can get it down to the harp cap (it builds at 1% speed), becoming immune since it doesnt build fast enough to counter the passive drain of the bar.
Well poison wasn't meaningless, it gave the feel of urgency while exploring the swamp(just enough to get you on your toes, but not enough to annoy the hell out of you). Back when i was playing ds1 i never leveled vitality(since it only added so much hp and the damage of the enemies were either much higher that that, or they would catch you in their combo-wombo gang-bang where your max hp didn't matter all that much), so my swamp journey was always very tightly tied to the time i spent in there(since my hp pool was small and i wasn't that stocked up on estus at the time i got there) and i was always at a choice either to heal up at every enemy i face(effectively shortening the time i got to explore) or to risk dying on hit. Where in ds2 poison pits were much more forgettable and shitty experience, where you just needed to run across them and forget about. It never added something into the gameplay, since there were no gameplay with it.
@@Codabear89 Well, the Toxic from the Blowdart Sniper is no joke, the Toxic damage of the other Toxic inflicting Items isn´t that high. Exept maybe the Gravelord Sword.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: poison is only a nuisance LATER in the game. To this day one of my least favorite sections in DS1 is the section before the Undead Parish with the rats because they can poison you with your, probably, low health bar and I don’t think there is any way to access purple moss at that point in the game.
Everybody that played DS2 could’ve predicted this. The literal pain you go through after accidentally rolling into one of the thousands of poison pots in Earthen Peak…
"Not looking forward to doing it again for the stamina video" HMMM MORE BLOODBORNE CONTENT? While you're at it you should make that hunter's torch video you promised us so many years ago in the bloodborne unarmed video...
Yeah, but like... Armor has poison resistance and poison buildup is basically free time during which you aren't taking damage... They should all be naked and/or have 0 poison resistance to make it... Fairer. the best thing would be to only count time during which they are actually taking damage. What i'm trying to say is fuck Dark Souls 2 poison.
Poison damage is flat and doesnt chamge with resistances. The only difference that armour makes is how fast you get poisoned in the first place. That doesnt matter in this case because it was time so the poison triggered the same time for each.
Za Zoomer yeah but it still would affect it, he should have given everyone there best poison resistant armor and started the counter when you go into the swamp, or only taken the time poisoned into account.
Here's some useless math to go along with this: Converting all of the finishing times into seconds to calculate the damage per second (rounded to the nearest hundreth) is as follows: DeS- 487 seconds(at 1900 health) 3.90 damage per second DS1-683 seconds(at 2633 health) 3.86 damage per second DS2-108 seconds(at 3827 health) 35.44 damage per second DS3-557 seconds(at 2122 health) 3.81 damage per second Blo-199 seconds(at 2523 health) 12.68 damage per second Based off of these numbers, Slayer of Demons would be able to survive 682 seconds if they were able to use the health glitch to obtain 2660 health. This is just shy of the Chosen Undead at 683 seconds. One thing to consider is all of this testing involves different poison resistance stats between characters, so the time spent unpoisoned and regaining poison buildup differs between each protagonist. Therefore it may be possible that if the Chosen Undead, and the Slayer of Demons had equal poison buildup and downtimes, that Slayer of Demons would win.
Jokes on you Old Man, my character in DS1 has max vitality and I like to role-play as Shrek so now I know I have to eat a moss clump at 11:22 so this is no longer useless information!
Old Man, there's a recent exploit that gives you an emormous amount of echoes on the Living Failures boss fight by abusing visceral attack multipliers. Look it up so you don't have to torture yourself farming echoes :)
Again, comedy gold. The most original channel on youtube. And that sense of humor. Love it. These poor people have to stand there and die slowly. At least Faraam didn't suffer for a long time. Everything seems to be going so fast in the DS2.
it would honestly be pretty cool to see a video where each protagonist uses the max Estus flask uses, and max healing spells each can use before resting at a bonfire (maybe even other items if Im correct about how many items you can carry at one time)
Bearer wins with his 99 liffgems, 99 radiant lifegems, 99 ancient radiant lifegems, 99 monastery talismans, 99 red waters and 99 dragon talismans. Not even need to use spells.
Bubblegloop Swamp theme in a swamp. I am super okay with this. But the real lesson is: Do not get poisoned in DS2. Lol. That DS2 common fruit medal was pretty funny, Limit. ;)

Always a good touch. Shame it never came back. Reminds me of the final fantasy games where critical heath have different animations. Like below 50% they lean forward but below 25% they slump over. Just neat, innit.
Simply a masterpiece. This bring ups specific issues with today’s society separation and polarization of the people , truly profound.
There is simply nothing else like it.
Calm down socrates, its just poison. Wait...
Dark Souls 2 even has the best maximum health, AND the best poison to boot.
I'm sure Blighttown is a lovely place, but I hear the frame tax there is hefty.

This is exactly what you'd hear when entering an Xbox live party
Sir, with respect, shoo.
Help me!
Is this with everything that can give him more health? Oldman kinda cheated here by doing everything to top the bois he could.
I mean isn't it unfair? Other bois are just standing there like champs, where sekiro needs to be revived?
@@laharlkent This is with all prayer beads, yes! Unless I'm unaware of things other than prayer beads that can increase the lil dude's health temporarily?
@@Shonicheck Also yeah it's extremely unfair, but he is very small, and has no level up screen, so you can imagine the kind of stress that he is under
Most HP can't help you against fart clouds.
if you include max resistances, DS2 can get it down to the harp cap (it builds at 1% speed), becoming immune since it doesnt build fast enough to counter the passive drain of the bar.
Do I have to beat the 5 swamp poisoning routes before unlocking the secret ending where I hold hands with Old Man?
timefish 101 perhaps
This is a SFW site. Stop posting things such as h*lding h*nds.
9/10, good swamp jokes but not enough crabs
I keep reading it as "or else: old man" like old man will happen.
This just proves Old Man is the strongest. Old Man stood in the swamp the entire time but didn't die.
Swamp music: *Exists*
Jerry: "Swamp music..? I like it!"
Deaths in order I think:
DS2
Bloodborne
Demon Souls
DS3
DS1
Ayy got it all right. It always felt like poison was meaningless in DS1
Toxic though... Toxic is no joke.
Exept maybe the Gravelord Sword.
bruh the bar didn't go down for so long too
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: poison is only a nuisance LATER in the game.
A tip for Bloodborne farming: There are False Depth Chalice Dungeons made for early gear farming, like runes. Look them up to save time and stress.
This is a fine note
Il think back to this when bloodborn comes out on pc
I think it will come out around the same time as half life 3
GrandDad: Are you winning Son?
Son: No still stand in a swamp and record it.
I was part of a stream where we literally watched paint dry for over an hour. You underestimate my patience oldman.
An Rt fan?
I just remember DS2 poison hurting like a bitch so I'm gonna go with that one
Ds2 poison is terrifying if you don't have max health...Actually it's always terrifying
"Not looking forward to doing it again for the stamina video" HMMM MORE BLOODBORNE CONTENT? While you're at it you should make that hunter's torch video you promised us so many years ago in the bloodborne unarmed video...
What of the faith build
Bro that was like 4 years ago hahah
I always wish he made more Bloodborne videos
The Oldman made a Magic joke, and I thought I couldn't like you more
I’ve always said that late game in DS1 poison is more of an ignorable nuisance than actual threat, and this video proves it!
Toxic is pretty dangerous though.
6:06 YES! That is some choice swamp music. Excellent taste.
The music, that is, not the swamp. I doubt the swamp tastes very good.
Ever find the swamp music name?
@@vortiger5035 Sure! The one I was talking about at 6:06 is "Bayou Boogie" from Donkey Kong Country 2 on SNES. The others I have no idea.

I love the small detail where bearer of the curse changed his standing pose when his hp hits particular %
'maiden in black is best waifu" I see old man is a man of culture
Yeah, but like... Armor has poison resistance and poison buildup is basically free time during which you aren't taking damage...
They should all be naked and/or have 0 poison resistance to make it... Fairer. the best thing would be to only count time during which they are actually taking damage.
What i'm trying to say is fuck Dark Souls 2 poison.
Poison damage is flat and doesnt chamge with resistances. The only difference that armour makes is how fast you get poisoned in the first place. That doesnt matter in this case because it was time so the poison triggered the same time for each.
Za Zoomer they all started poisoned but overtime the difference between each poison would add up to different amounts of time.
@@RichardULong The poison resistance matters everytime the poison drops off
@@RatQueen03 that doesnt really matter considering the time difference between the deaths. It would, at most, change the time by about 15 seconds.
Za Zoomer yeah but it still would affect it, he should have given everyone there best poison resistant armor and started the counter when you go into the swamp, or only taken the time poisoned into account.
ive watched this 3 times now. help he's keeping me captive
Was threatened by an Old Man with a gun to come here a week early.
Same
DS2 poison: "I am speed!"
Another example of Dark Souls 2 being designed for making the player suffer.
Chad dark souls 1 didn't even start to lose health before 3 mintutes passed
Do remember the ds1 health passed its health cap visually
Here's some useless math to go along with this:
Converting all of the finishing times into seconds to calculate the damage per second (rounded to the nearest hundreth) is as follows:
DeS- 487 seconds(at 1900 health) 3.90 damage per second
DS1-683 seconds(at 2633 health) 3.86 damage per second
DS2-108 seconds(at 3827 health) 35.44 damage per second
DS3-557 seconds(at 2122 health) 3.81 damage per second
Blo-199 seconds(at 2523 health) 12.68 damage per second
Based off of these numbers, Slayer of Demons would be able to survive 682 seconds if they were able to use the health glitch to obtain 2660 health. This is just shy of the Chosen Undead at 683 seconds. One thing to consider is all of this testing involves different poison resistance stats between characters, so the time spent unpoisoned and regaining poison buildup differs between each protagonist. Therefore it may be possible that if the Chosen Undead, and the Slayer of Demons had equal poison buildup and downtimes, that Slayer of Demons would win.
i had a feeling {REDACTED} would win, since that poison never really was a problem for me.
You literally fight quelaag with it 99% of the time. It literally does nothing

Might be off since they wear amour with different poision resist
good point.
Poison resist only determines how fast you get poisoned. Not how much poison damage you take
@@MorionDeath It probably wouldn't effect the rankings but the times would change as the poison runs out and needs to be re-applied.
I was thinking the same, but fair point about only affecting build-up.
Jokes on you Old Man, my character in DS1 has max vitality and I like to role-play as Shrek so now I know I have to eat a moss clump at 11:22 so this is no longer useless information!

Again, comedy gold. The most original channel on youtube. And that sense of humor. Love it. These poor people have to stand there and die slowly. At least Faraam didn't suffer for a long time. Everything seems to be going so fast in the DS2.

Oh man I wasn't expecting the Dominaria joke, I didn't catch that on my first watch.
Finally... Now I can use this useless data as a method to predict how long I can leave my game running in the background while ordering KFC.
it would honestly be pretty cool to see a video where each protagonist uses the max Estus flask uses, and max healing spells each can use before resting at a bonfire (maybe even other items if Im correct about how many items you can carry at one time)
In Dark Souls 3 you can have enough life regeneration to outpace swamp poison with 2 Anri's swords, so it's a moot competition.
Lol. That DS2 common fruit medal was pretty funny, Limit. ;)
I wish Sekiro was included in the comparison, but we all know that he would die first.
At least he could die more than once, or something. To stay longer.
