Lol, in my country, I could eat lavish breakfasts and dinners for a week and have a bottle of fine wine at weekends on top of it, at the cost of one goddamn skin I wonder why there is still no legal action for that tripe they pulled off. They basically falsely advertised the game, they distributed the bad balance patch with agressive monetization as a new game, and they took the game that people payed money for away from their libraries. This is why "stop killing games" movement desparately needs to be supported by all EU citizens. Greed. Unmasked and shameless greed. At the cost of those who allow you to even exist as a corporation.
The balance problem is happening because they use [misleading] data to make their decisions. (Its not speculation, they've said it before and currently have a job opening that requires "data driven decision-making")
14:30 you actually can buy epics and legendarys, you can complete the bp and get the credits for free, you can also do quests to earn them, and after a bit you can buy any skin from ow1
With 3 different roles, over 30 heroes, multiple game modes, years of content and events, it's a truly miraculous effort on the Devs part to ruin absolutely everything and be hated be literally everybody over the course of MULTIPLE YEARS of everyone talking about it.
Keep defending your tr4sh game !diot. That's why Blizzard is going to continue to walk all over you while Fortnite players actually get treated well and accommodated way more by the game devs
The white credits can be used to acquire rarer skins but it takes more credits than what is the listed gold credit price. I.E. 1000 gold credit skin needs 1500 white credits to unlock. Unfortunately there are a number of skins that are exempt.
As a Tf2 Player , Overwatch is a good game . I will always prefer tf2 , but overwatch as a game is very good as well . The problem with ow2 is Blizzard
The funny thing about counter picking, i play vs ai alot and I notice it will sometimes do 2 soldiers or 2 meis when our team cant do that. Plus ive had the ai tank swap to zarya when I was dva lol
The monetization in Overwatch is nowhere near as bad as it could be. Tbh i could care less about cosmetic monetizing if it doesnt effect gameplay. Like having a cool skin is not a requirement to play the game.
They fucked over all the old players in ow1 by taking out all the free event shit and lootboxes and prayed that ow2 would bring in new players ready to drop hundreds on skins (some just recolors 💀) and battle passes. Oh yeah and change the format to 5v5 just so the game can at least be argued that it needed a new fkn title and game. Everyone snap back to reality, they massacred the game for seemingly greed. I can’t really think of any other explanation.
who woulda guessed... ruining a good game "fixing" the game with a sequel no one asked for making said sequel as a complete cashgrab not fixing major issues, still lying for years about a PvE mode (not even mentioning all the in-company harassment and issues) ... would lead to a popular beloved game dying Overwatch ain't dead, it's just evolved into a hentai tab because that's the best thing it's used for now
I bought Overwatch back when it cost money. It is absolutely nutter butters that a company like Blizzard can sell you a game then later replace the game you bought with a steaming pile of horse dung. Like.... Why is this legal? I've been robbed of the game I purchased. This isn't the game I bought. This. This is a bad game. I bought a good game.
Because you don't really own games digitally. You basically own a license to use it that they can revoke at any time for any reason. Most TOS will state that. That's why the move to digital only for so many studios should concern people.
Game is very far from dead, game servers are still full and every patch day the servers are so full you have to sit in a queue. Game is dead to me though when i saw the skin prices
13:08 statement is partly true, but mainly due to the balance team back then failed to adhere to the advice the community was trying to give. Like Brigitte for example, she wasn't too crazy except for the level of sustain she can provide with the AoE passive healing and the armor packs. Community tried to say Brigitte's sustain is too powerful, blizzard decided to nerf everything except the sustain. Same with double shield, blizzard nerfed pretty much everything EXCEPT THAT. Usually the community advice, especially the good advice tends to fall on deaf ears.
13:27 *Blizzard removes 6v6* [2 years Later] *Blizzard readding 6v6* so wtf kind of logic was that. They removed it for “balance” and now adding it back, Devs these days dont tf they are doing
Masters-GM player (all roles) here. The reason why tanking is so miserable has nothing to do with their lack of impact. It is a VERY powerful role. Tanks were designed with synergies in 6v6 being in mind, so they were made to have very clear strengths and weaknesses. They could cover each other's weaknesses by splitting ability usage and damage between them as there were 2 of them. Because of their unique strengths and weaknesses plus the fact they are very powerful, counter-swapping is often the only option you have. This would exist with or without the additions to the tank roster. Giga-buffing them in S11 made counter-swapping even more valuable and important. There are a myriad of issues with this game beside that, like the destruction of hero identities in the DPS role since S9 (the worst patch in OW history) but you didn't cover that. Good video, regardless.
@@deadspace4755 it's a little bit of a hyperbolic statement, I'll admit. Hanzo lost his identity in S9, Junkrat lost his upper rank viability, to the point only hard OTPs can play him, same with Sym.

A lot of the balancing issues came from Overwatch 2 trying to appeal to the Esport crowd instead of casual gamers. What the E sports people find balanced doesn't mean fun, while what casual gamers find fun wouldn't exactly be balanced in some cases.
Yea Ana and Bap and Brig were all fine for me in gold at release but they got dumpstered now I have to run amock with Moira who the high ranks deem harmless lol

This is a problem for a lot of games. Greedy companies just takes the soul out of the game and slowly kills it. You have Apex and Overwatch being two good examples.

The characters dont feel as versatile and mostly can only be played one way for instance sombra cant properly silence anymore and now needs to use two abilities to get one effect. They force you to play a certain way.
OW2 started as a dedicated PvE game with no PvP. They announce that the games will be merged into one game. They announce that the dedicated PvE is no longer coming. ??? just don’t make it then?? The only thing they’re trying to do now is make the game more like the beloved success Overwatch. They can’t backtrack because removing the $40 barrier was expensive, loot boxes are banned, and their new monetization scheme is all they have left to justify Overwatch 2.
Just ignoring the drama and lies blizzard just blatantly told I've given the game a chance after 2 years of not playing It's an amazing game BUT it's way too easy to either be the team that absolutely stomps the other and just walks over them or be the team that can't seem to get an inch without everyone ulting at once The forced 3 roles is the problem IMO Let people decide how many tanks, DPS or heals they bring. Amazing flexibility, counter play, dynamic. That's the one thing it really misses from the original launch

As a overwatch 1 player I honestly agree with a lot of points made during this video. I am mainly angry at the whole company and the development team: Not only did they decide to base ow2 mainly on the PvE, they downright lied or should I say "Cancelled due to unforeseen consequences" (my arse) they also ruined everything that the game had going for it in the first game! I remember very vividly that the ow1 team was actually one of the best teams in it's time, it became my favourite development team because they actually CARED, Jeff Kaplan was by far the best developer, I remember very well that he engaged with players on twitter and other platforms. He genuinely seemed like he liked his game, which is a trait that the new team does not have whatsoever for some goddamn reason???? They refuse to listen to anybody but the 'pro' players who just seem to complain about everything, if they can't find a problem in the game they just decide to nerf/buff a hero that DEFINETLY DOES NOT NEED??? They keep locking everything behind a pay wall?? They ruin every part of the game and yet they do not stop and think for just a second: "Hm maybe the fans are right? Maybe we are doing something wrong?" NO! They keep ignoring the fans need I need to remind that they promised ow1 players 'compensation' for deleting ow1 and making the new one free to play, they made it seem like the players would actually get something good that would basically give the players from ow1 money's worth... The moment I realised I only received 2 crappy skins and a weapon charm for literally having the hero edition base game bought was literally soul shattering and I'm sure I speak for so many other ow1 players that just realised they got crapped on. The main issue with the game now is the development team, the faster they realise that THEY REALLY ARE THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF THE GAME, the faster they can make changes and become semi-respected than they are. But if I'm being honest? No matter what they do not everyone will forgive them, they have been acting immature for far to long and I'm sure many fans will not comeback ever. The only thing that keeps the game alive is it being free to play. Remember when we used to say Paladins was a direct copy of ow1? I'd rather play that game now than this forsaken new game. THAT'S how bad it is right now.
OW2 players saying their game is dead when it still has a steady 30k+ players... Meanwhile me, an old school Paladins enjoyer, watching the dwindleing less than 5k playerbase and all content creators switching to other games...
holy shit i knew the monetization was awful, but i never knew just how bad with that rein weapon. you have to pay $45 for it, then pay to upgrade it??? thats insane
I agree with most of this but the people saying rivals is already better are ridiculous imo, y’all are ignoring massive issues with that game just because you WANT it to better, not because it IS
If only Jeff Kaplan was still there, felt like they actually addressed issues and were actively invested in working on the game, seems like it went downhill after he left? I dont remember the timing.
I loved Overwatch until they decided to nerf Mercy, ruins Orisa's skills and they decided to charge so much money for everything. I also I stopped playing because of my internet service, which also sucks.
You're right. *Overwatch 2* failed by recycling the original game and gutting the promised PvE content. Blizzard’s greed and laziness show in overpriced cosmetics and weak balancing. It’s not about innovation anymore; it’s a cash grab. The soul of the game is gone, and that’s why it feels dead.

How many active players does your game have? mine has 0
The balance problem is happening because they use [misleading] data to make their decisions.

"Babe wake up! Obscure youtuber #42089 has uploaded another video on yt on how OW has died again with a slightly different thumbnail!"
Keep defending your tr4sh game !diot. That's why Blizzard is going to continue to walk all over you while Fortnite players actually get treated well and accommodated way more by the game devs
Overwatch hater TH-camrs after ignoring all the console and other launchers other than steam "ThE gAmE Is DeAd!!1!1!1!!!"
That genjis skin is just the ice version recolored. Like wtf
"I'm kind of bad at the game"
I guess it must be playing on PC that makes your movement so crazy and accuracy so high
Mechanical skill is half the battle
There is a game?
I mean it doesn't help that you only consider the Steam player count. Taking the stats from the Steam charts and not checking the full player count.
There’s no easy way to check stats for battle.net numbers which makes it hard to gauge
Its dead bro lmao
TF2: Dude you cant even stay online for 2 years now huh? I mean, my bot crisis is kinda.. solved you know?
8:41 so true it’s crazy making
bro "until it wasnt going to be anything at all" 3:30 is the best interpretation of my frustration when they said that
Overwatchs dead for me as well. I'll give it another chance if they switch back to 6v6
It won't work. The new tanks are incomparable with the 6v6 model.
The funny thing about counter picking, i play vs ai alot and I notice it will sometimes do 2 soldiers or 2 meis when our team cant do that. Plus ive had the ai tank swap to zarya when I was dva lol
My God the bots are adapting
Not me playing over watch 2 as I’m watching this video rn
The monetization in Overwatch is nowhere near as bad as it could be. Tbh i could care less about cosmetic monetizing if it doesnt effect gameplay. Like having a cool skin is not a requirement to play the game.
"That game ain't that bad if you play it for their ass." Sun Tzu
They fucked over all the old players in ow1 by taking out all the free event shit and lootboxes and prayed that ow2 would bring in new players ready to drop hundreds on skins (some just recolors 💀) and battle passes. Oh yeah and change the format to 5v5 just so the game can at least be argued that it needed a new fkn title and game. Everyone snap back to reality, they massacred the game for seemingly greed. I can’t really think of any other explanation.
who woulda guessed...
ruining a good game
"fixing" the game with a sequel no one asked for
making said sequel as a complete cashgrab
not fixing major issues, still
lying for years about a PvE mode
(not even mentioning all the in-company harassment and issues)
... would lead to a popular beloved game dying
Overwatch ain't dead, it's just evolved into a hentai tab
because that's the best thing it's used for now
I bought Overwatch back when it cost money.
That's why the move to digital only for so many studios should concern people.
it never died because it never lived
💯 OV2 was never alive
Game is very far from dead, game servers are still full and every patch day the servers are so full you have to sit in a queue.
Game is dead to me though when i saw the skin prices
Everyone who plays the game is a bot
13:08 statement is partly true, but mainly due to the balance team back then failed to adhere to the advice the community was trying to give.
Like Brigitte for example, she wasn't too crazy except for the level of sustain she can provide with the AoE passive healing and the armor packs. Community tried to say Brigitte's sustain is too powerful, blizzard decided to nerf everything except the sustain. Same with double shield, blizzard nerfed pretty much everything EXCEPT THAT.
Usually the community advice, especially the good advice tends to fall on deaf ears.
They know they fucked up
Do they? 😂 What makes you say that? They just released some nerfs and Mauga is still beyond broken.
"you fukd up"
13:27 *Blizzard removes 6v6* [2 years Later] *Blizzard readding 6v6* so wtf kind of logic was that.
Interesting insight, I just gauged what the community seemed to be saying regarding it but this makes sense too, thanks!
How exactly did they lose their unique identity? The HP and hitbox update?
@@deadspace4755 it's a little bit of a hyperbolic statement, I'll admit. Hanzo lost his identity in S9, Junkrat lost his upper rank viability, to the point only hard OTPs can play him, same with Sym.
@@afterthought9538 Sym has been a problem in OW2 since they nerfed her at the beginning. She's still one of the only consistent viable picks against a Dva dive with the Dva buffs lately, but that's about it.

ive played overwatch since day one in 2016. i grinded and wasted so much of my time with that game that when OW2 was coming out i was so excited to play the pve, but the fact that it became worse and worse made me just stop playing this game entirely. its a complete ripoff
For me, OW2 feels less fun overall than OW, so I stopped playing. I still like watching content, but I miss the old gameplay and the more reasonable grind for skins.
This is a problem for a lot of games. Greedy companies just takes the soul out of the game and slowly kills it. You have Apex and Overwatch being two good examples.
wait so when did overwatch die ?
Not dead but def dying due to the lack of love from devs
The game is "spiritually" dead. People keep playing because it's free and dumb. But there's no Soul left since the OW2 release .
At least they put it on Steam. Valorant isn’t because Riot just thinks they’re too different from Valve.
lmao this game will never die unless the community decides to leave an for sum reason in 2024 a community for a game would know the game is shit yet still would play the game an still put 1,000s of dollars in these people pockets its insane
Bro really said what I was thinking 12 days ago
Overwatch will never be dea, it'll just always be hated, it's the definition of "I hate this, it's my favorite thing"
I stopped playing after I bought the story mode only for them to drop it faster than a team fight in push.
Been dead since OW2 is LITERALLY OW 1.5
At this point, I firmly believe that some billionaire kids got themselves addicted to video games to the point of self-sabotaging (despawning themselves, wasting the company's money on video games, refusing to marry and do normal things because of video games). That billionaire is on a quest to acquire all things video games to ruin it as an act of revenge against this industry.
The movie industry is just collateral damage.
It's kind of sad that I want someone at Blizzard to pull the plug on this game that I love so it doesn't need to suffer anymore. 😢💔
I’ve played it a few times, its fine.
I didn’t in particularly like playing when my friends where offline.
And at some point I just went to tf2.
Which is really a fun game with and without fruends
The characters dont feel as versatile and mostly can only be played one way for instance sombra cant properly silence anymore and now needs to use two abilities to get one effect. They force you to play a certain way.
OW2 started as a dedicated PvE game with no PvP.
They announce that the games will be merged into one game.
They announce that the dedicated PvE is no longer coming.
??? just don’t make it then??
The only thing they’re trying to do now is make the game more like the beloved success Overwatch. They can’t backtrack because removing the $40 barrier was expensive, loot boxes are banned, and their new monetization scheme is all they have left to justify Overwatch 2.
now the marvel rivals is out and it's basically a better version of overwatch with same UI
Just ignoring the drama and lies blizzard just blatantly told
I've given the game a chance after 2 years of not playing
It's an amazing game BUT it's way too easy to either be the team that absolutely stomps the other and just walks over them or be the team that can't seem to get an inch without everyone ulting at once
The forced 3 roles is the problem IMO
Let people decide how many tanks, DPS or heals they bring.
Amazing flexibility, counter play, dynamic.
That's the one thing it really misses from the original launch
The open ques still exists. They just added role ques with it

As a overwatch 1 player I honestly agree with a lot of points made during this video.
I am mainly angry at the whole company and the development team:
Not only did they decide to base ow2 mainly on the PvE, they downright lied or should I say "Cancelled due to unforeseen consequences" (my arse) they also ruined everything that the game had going for it in the first game!
"What can I say you welcome" mauga
OW2 players saying their game is dead when it still has a steady 30k+ players...
Meanwhile me, an old school Paladins enjoyer, watching the dwindleing less than 5k playerbase and all content creators switching to other games...
The soul of the game is dead
holy shit i knew the monetization was awful, but i never knew just how bad with that rein weapon. you have to pay $45 for it, then pay to upgrade it??? thats insane
35$
They saw that Valorant gets away with it, so they did it too because humans love to be abused.
(in response to title)
“The day it came out! Final answer!”
Got banned for saying baby. It’s literally how I talk didn’t know overwatch takes it as bullying.
Can we talk about that everyone spend 60$ on this game when it came out and there was literally 0 problems financing the game????
And now that it’s free and their content just a predatory cash grab that Blizzard is actually running out of funds for it????
I agree with most of this but the people saying rivals is already better are ridiculous imo, y’all are ignoring massive issues with that game just because you WANT it to better, not because it IS
If only Jeff Kaplan was still there, felt like they actually addressed issues and were actively invested in working on the game, seems like it went downhill after he left? I dont remember the timing.
I always thought the timing was strange, didn’t Blizzard announce Overwatch 2 during those China allegations?
Yeah little miss fox is a good support
But have you ever considered role playing as Swedish meatball with a bonk stick
Brig is best ❤
I loved Overwatch until they decided to nerf Mercy, ruins Orisa's skills and they decided to charge so much money for everything. I also I stopped playing because of my internet service, which also sucks.
Don’t forget that Overwatch 2 scrapped a lot of features from Overwatch 1 like the endorsement system and levels.
3:36 the day overwatch 2 died
*resurrections starts playing*
Im fully expecting them to give overwatch the heroes of the storm treatment
To top it off the game crashes quite often, loading times are insane
You're right. *Overwatch 2* failed by recycling the original game and gutting the promised PvE content. Blizzard’s greed and laziness show in overpriced cosmetics and weak balancing. It’s not about innovation anymore; it’s a cash grab. The soul of the game is gone, and that’s why it feels dead.
I feel like this video has been getting made everyday since OW1
