The competition from Sony, Archam, Onkyo, all have more channels and power, and Denon offers the same specs for 1000 less. Am I missing something?

@@eauwadia Hello Edmund, thanks for your comment and for watching the video. The AVR market has a lot of options across a wide range of price points - which is great to see. Denon and Marantz products are very closely linked in their manufacturing process, however, as pointed out in the video the Marantz Cinema 40 model is built by Marantz’ Sound Masters within their prestigious Shirakawa factory in Japan and makes use of much higher quality internal componentry - all of which affects the overall sonic performance of the amplifier. Comparing products directly with specifications is a good starting point in finding the amplifier that is right for you, but we would always recommend giving them a listen in person to really appreciate the sonic characteristics and differences between models. We have demonstration facilities available at our showroom where we would be happy to demonstrate this to you. Feel free to get in touch! Many thanks.

I am always surprised when I hear “Marantz tuned by Marantz audio specialist”.
What, other Marantz were tuned using Sony’s specialists?

Hello, thanks for watching the video and for commenting. Marantz have a division within their manufacturing team that are seen as upper echelon engineers who are utilised on higher-end/premium models as well as special projects. This is common practice for many audio brands. The Marantz name and heritage holds some prestige within the industry and the point of this division is to ensure that you receive the best sound quality possible as an end user. It's almost like a stamp of approval.

Will the Cinema 40 ever get Roon Ready (not just Roon tested)?

    • @AVHifiCinema

Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and for commenting. I will get in touch with Marantz directly for an official answer to your question.

@@AVHifiCinema Thanks! I must say I like the new Marantz very much but right now the Roon Ready badge tips the scale in favor of Pioneer/Onkyo flagships. The included Dirac license is a point for them too. Maybe Cinema 30 is on the horizon?

    • @AVHifiCinema

@@_intrepid So I've just heard back from our contacts at Marantz for an official answer on this. They say that it is high on their priority list but currently no date confirmed for when the units will be Roon Ready. Sorry that I couldn't provide you with anything more concrete than that. As for the rest of your comment, I agree with everything you said. For some people Dirac Live will be more important to them than Roon Ready - I would put myself in that category - and vice versa. That's the best thing about having lots of options on the market to choose from. To date, we haven't heard anything internally about a Cinema 30 model. Hope that all helps!

for that marantz to be called " cinema " i find that insulting offensive . it doesn't do anything like cinema nor does trinnov , stormaudio and i have the garbage trash stormaudio elite mkIII , as ex projectionist all avr avp from last ten no years are rubbish , never know anything like . i have to make sure my system stays ahead of everyone else , not even elite rich snobs can touch my system , professional Dolby Stereo CP ultimate best , stormaudio is only good for dolby atmos that gets hardly played now , back to Dolby Stereo where it began with professional THX with professional grade cinema speakers
