what blows giant ass about this video is how there is zero mention of tesla software. they're literally using datacenters full of gpus to analyze billions of miles of drive time with ai. improve the automation and safety features. theyre lightyears ahead and unparalleled in tis regard. you can bet your ass their software will continue to dramatically improve with time while legacy auto makers are just now realizing they should have been doing tis for 20+ years
Owning a CCS car(Taycan) and a Tesla MYP I agree with your comment that CCS cars are not travel cars. We’ve drive the Tesla all over the eastern US and the charging experience is seamless and pain free. I love the Taycan but will not take it on road trips. My EA experience has been poor: chargers not working, unplug and replug, move to another space, crowded with all sorts of Bolts, ID4s, Kia’s, commercial vehicles like Walmart vans. Plus I’ve never got more than 160 kw on a 350 charger. I think it will get worse before it gets better because they are selling more CCS cars. The Tesla NACS is also easier to handle and just works. My wife is small and really struggles to plug the CCS at an EA station.
The guy the camera I don’t like. The interview guy is trying to be fair. And the camera man keeps coming in with his big loud opinion. We get it you like the model S over the EQS, but we’re looking to make our on opinion and hear others. Like let the man speak.
I simply do not understand why you would even need the performance of that plaid, especially in a country like the USA where you have incredible low speed limits where all this power is simply useless.
Like he said if you already have a Tesla you might be more drawn to the Mercedes. I need a family car and a daily driver. EQS AMG for the daily and Model X PLAID for family car.
I've owned an EQS for about 6 months. It is always a pleasure to get in to that car. The air suspension is so smooth. The drive is so smooth. The breaks suck, but you sort of adjust to it. The driver assistence like highway lane keeping is very very good. You did not mention that the EQS has rear wheel steering, which makes the long car handle like a compact.
Congrats on the new channel ;) If I had the money, I'd probably do it like Kyle, get the Tesla while I wait for a Taycan. For Mercedes, I'd probably go for a fully spect EQE.

With EVs it's the package vs ICE where you can compare car to car. I have said this for years, before the known OEMS even started making EVs. That it will be impossible for the other OEMS to match the "package" for yeeeaaaars to come and in 2023, other OEMs are still 7? years behind. This should be mentioned at the beginning of the review and get it over with. 1. Wanna do road trips with your EV? Tesla all the way due to charging locations, range, speed etc. CCS/other networks are not that great and far in between, and it makes road tripping a PITA. 2. Wanna have an around the town car, with small trips? Dosen't matter. Now let's compare cars. Then go ahead and do the CAR review, and not the "package" review. The reason I have the Plaid / had the Model 3 is due to 1. I use my Plaid as my DD (ICE car for FUN). I need a good charging experience when road tripping. I don't want to wait in line to charge, arrive at a charger that's out of order, charge at a slower speed (even Tesla's are too slow vs ICE) etc. With any other OEM it would make any trip where I needed to DC charge a bad experience, and I say this from someone living in Norway, which is night and day compared to Tesla/CCS in the US. I'm also a car nut. No EV is going to be "exciting", like a fun ICE car, but at least the Plaid is FUN. The EQS is obviously a great luxury car, but it's just that; a luxury car. I also don't like buttons all over the place that get used 1% of the time. I'd rather have the more minimalistic interior, sportier DD, than some "normal" luxury car. You like beer? Get the Plaid. You like wine? Get the EQS. They really aren't that "comparable". Two different cars IMHO. One is a BMW M5, the other is a Rolls Royce Phantom to to speak.

@Biddie 86 Tesla looks better, is more practical, cheaper when you consider that it offers all equipment as standard, has better sound system (yes top end burmister in Merc still won't match the Tesla because the tuning is off), wayy better tech overall and has wayyy better battery tech and motors which won't lose 30% of the range just because its slightly colder outside... I call that the 🔐 and its not like its far off in quality (new Teslas have decent interior materials and have a bad reputation from before, also Mercedes is using a ton of cheap plastic), comfort (has double glazed glass all-around, ANC, really great seats) so you have to spend a lot more for Eqs just to match the features of Tesla.
Thank you for this video guys! I personally feel like these two cars simply do not compare. I drive an EQS AMG (I LEASED MINE LOL). It is simply outstanding. I have the 22 inch wheels and regularly get over 500KM to 520KM range. The noises are super cool, and they make anyone who sits in it smile. And yes, anywhere I go, people stop me to ask me questions and are so impressed with the car. It looks very nice in black. A real show stopper. And yes, you can charge it anywhere. Except the Tesla chargers, but there are many other fast chargers out there. 0 to 60 is 3.0 to 3.1seconds if you measure it, using launch mode, without any over heating nor any need to heat up the battery for 30 minutes:). It is radically different from a Tesla. I drove a Tesla and rode one as well with friends and did not enjoy it. Too bare for my taste. I like the bells and whistles:) But after driving both, I find them so different, that it is almost like comparing a truck with a CIVIC. Two very different concepts at two very different price points.
