@@leechild4655 The Jimi channel is real. It's not Jimi though it's the spirit you channel everyone has access. I can channel the same vibe after playing for 40 years. It's the blues at its core. It comes from growing up listening to music created by people channeling this spirit. It's feeling more than anything else. You get so into it you become the spirit and you can play what you hear in your head. I can play Jimi note for note or I can play "like" Jimi it becomes the same thing. I'm not claiming to be Jimi but I do know I can sound a lot like him and it's not technical it's a feeling. Sounding like him is more rewarding than trying too hard to sound exactly like him. Eric Johnson is the master or masters when it comes to Jimi channel.

Frank technical ability is second to no one! The covers he plays are better than the originals, and his own songs showcase his mastery of the guitar.Complex chords and runs are awesome, and to sing like he does while playing is another overlooked talent.Jimi opened the door to what was possible with an electric guitar, and Frank kicked that door down and showed even more what could be done with one! He is a technical genious, his SG is like no other,it's so heavily modded and uses Fender single coil style pick ups instead of the Gibson style, that's part of where his awesome tone comes from, but he also makes his own pedals and amps! Check out his live interviews, especially one from everyoneLovesGuitar,it's over two hours long, but you'll see just how cool and smart he is,as well as being one of the nicest guys you'll ever listen to.Wings of Pegasus has a live interview with him,and again you'll see what a smart and cool man he is!

From the very beginning Frank had the Hendrix-derivative label stapled to his back, and not without fair reason. But anyone who has heard the solo on "He's Calling" knows that there were moments when he carved out his own place in the guitar hero pantheon, and on that song left one of the best electric guitar solos in captivity.

Frank is often compared to Jimi Hendrix and what? I don't see no problem! In it doesn’t have nothing bad. In contrary, it is ennoblement for him, not to say more, well-earned. It is obvious for me he is one of the best and most underrated living guitarists, not only of the 1970s. Love his playing, his singing, his music & stage manner.

@@marcolascaraky5044 Marco it is quite simply and obvious. Franko's music, his masterpiece & art is well known so narrow group of fans, especially immersed in blues. I know we would like to change it but each of us has own musical preferences and OK. It is a very frustrating situation for his fans that so amazing artist as Franko is underrated. I have been trying "sell" his music my friends and persuade them to his music!

Psychedelic Jazz, rock, hard hitting and working the Blues, like another one of his heroes. Johnny Winter. Frank stands alone, in the pantheon of greats.

Frank is The Man. He plays each phrase like it's a mystical incantation. The atmosphere is quiet and reverent as a church while the high priest of seventies-era guitar transfixes even those like me just listening to the recording. Having seen him have this effect on audiences in person, time after time starting in 1980, it never fails to wow me.

Matthew Taylor: Herein lays the basis for individual opinion... yours and mind. As someone who was a freshman in college when Jimi broken into the mainstream US market, I was a big fan. The more I listed to him, the more I realized that while he was unquestionably a genius, lighting fast, and truly gifted, he didn’t play as clean as a very few others. In real time I couldn’t make such comparisons, because the best work of some the other greats was yet to come. It is in retrospect that I formed my opinion that Jimi was not the cleanest of players. He dragged cords repeatedly. It was his playing style and so be it, because he was/is simply great at his craftsmanship. I’m not even suggesting that he is the GOAT. However, Marino, Clapton, Van Halen, Gilmore, and Van Zant all played very complex music and at the same time played cleaner. Jimi ‘s limited catalog of work compared to the other mentioned above also gives evidence to their progression and improvement over time. Had Jimi lived as long as these others, he may have proven to to be beyond question better than everyone else in all respects. I respect your opinion and your right to see things differently.
