Installing a Wound Bobbin - Singer 700 Series and Other In-place Bobbin Winding Sewing Machines

Following up on the bobbin winding video for the Singer 700 Series, I've received some questions about how to install a bobbin that's already wound.
In this video I step through the process of installing a previously wound bobbin into the in-place bobbin winding type of Singer machines.
The process involves placing the bobbin into the bobbin case and pulling up the thread with the top thread.
This process is also similar to other sewing machines of the more traditional type.

I have touch and sew 600, I removed the bobbin case and can't get it back in place. I've tried every combination I can think of. Please advise.

Hi. It sounds like the switch shaft is seized. If you try getting oil on to it, it may free up. Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean why is the bobbin not moving? If so, the plastic cam on the bobbin winder shaft may be broken underneath.

Can the rubber feed dogs be swapped out for metal ones or are they a different size?

I think they are interchangeable but I'll double check next time I have my 726 out.
