I just wanted to thank you very much for your very thorough and well presented singer sewing machine repair videos. I just acquired an old 760 singer for free and with your very good videos I have managed to oil it up, replace the finger gear selector and get it going. It has attachments I have never seen before and I am now looking forward to learning how to drive it. Even though I am a 71 years young woman I get such a kick out of making things work again. You are brilliant and thank you again. 😘

I was given a singer 760 last year! It has this gear sticking problem too - the needle bumps the foot and just sounds wrong - the problem with the gear selector turned out to be the that clip at the front of the spindle. Really greatful for your videos because it does seem a really nice machine which i hope i can get sewing again. Cheers from the UK mate!
@@InStitches Great helpful videos! Thanks very much, I now have a working 760 - turned out the capacitor in the switch blew and knocked the contact slider right out - no slow speed but max speed is working fine. Any idea of the value of that cap? Once again, thanks very much for your instructions

I have a Singer 714 and the pattern selector is stuck, it will only straight sew. From what I can see there are two cylindrical gears that are supposed to mesh. The back one seems to be worn smooth. Where can I find these gears and can you show how to replace them and set the timing as you did in this video? The reverse also is not working. I appreciate your detailed instructional videos.
Hello both me and my man have tried to put the plastic gear on the metal thing for days😅 but it's impossible, you didn't leve the part in on how you did it, how did you get it on? Hope you can help us🙏🙂
Thanks for an excellent series of videos on these machines. You've helped me get a 784 up and going again. I still have one problem which is that the Flexi Stitch option isn't working properly. It looks like it makes the stitch shape but doesn't feed it through properly. Normal stitching is fine and reverse works ok. Could this be a problem with the rubberised feed dogs or should I be looking somewhere else?
I guess it could be a problem with the feed dogs but difficult to say without looking at it. Maybe try unthreading it and place a piece of paper under presser foot and see if it feeds on the backward stroke?
You prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few weeks :)

Gracias por el vd mi pregunta es, es posible que también usen el idioma español, o alguien que hable español, yo creo que TH-cam procura llegar al más remoto lugar y a toda persona, disculpas por mi ignorancia si es que la hay, solo que yo esperaba poder intentar aunque sea solucionar algunos inconvenientes con mi máquina. Gracias por su atención, también creo que no manejo bien esta Tecnología. Es decir requiero de apoyo Dios les bendiga, estos vd son necesarios y útiles en todo momento
