I am American. I was raised between Southern California and houston, texas. I believe that Powderfinger is one of the greatest rock bands, ever. Odyssey Number 9 is one of the greatest rock albums, ever. It just is. It should have a vinyl album version in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If they don’t they should. This is an amazing album. Great music, very insightful, and human. When I bought it, I did so, based upon the album cover. The music was an amazing and beautiful discovery. This truly is an amazing collection of art.

We were renting from the blokes who made Powderfinger's clips, forget their names now, and it was their house. Corner of Hawthorne Rd & Malcolm St, Hawthorne. Some of the outdoor shots were from there too - car going round corner & losing the slinky etc House was knocked down in 2009 for a block of townhouses

This album was a big part of my troubled teenage years. So nostalgic. One of the best albums to ever come from Australia. And so iconic in the movie two hands with heath ledger. Straight legends thanks guys!

Powderfinger created some exciting and memorable music together. So much good work comes out of the rock industry, that it takes some catching up with. This track still gives me a thrill.
This song defined my childhood.
I remember watching this band live here in Phoenix AZ in the early 2000s. They played along with Ours. It was my first time hearing both bands and became an instant fan.
Still can't let it (or them) go! Missing them. Listening, loving and celebrating them in the UK in 2024!

This song JUMPED into my head this morning. It was my son's best friend's favourite song. He took his own life last weekend. We are all devastated. My son found him. I think he was telling me that he is happy now, no longer in pain.

This is such an amazing band and song. I don't know why more people don't listen to it, it's fantastic vocals, lyrics, guitar, drums and performance. But it seems all people care about is a good beat, cause otherwise these songs would be top of the charts.

Greetings from Brisbane. I was in a band in North Queensland at the same time this came out. Powderfinger were huge at the time. As a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist I love this track. Great vocal, pertinent lyrics, and a soaring melody. Overall just a great song.
I remember watching this clip on Rage as a kid. Takes me back.
The summer this song topped Triple J's Hottest 100 was the best of my life. What fun days they were! Even now hearing it gives me chills.

Powderfinger = my childhood. I remember hearing Double Allergic growing up from about the age of 4, this was the next album and pretty much all their music up until they split. Good memories :)
Their first album parables for wooden ears was an underrated gem. Very grungy and experimental, full of raw talent shown in the album. Double Allergic was more polished, simplified in a good way. But I still love their 1st album. Very audacious.

Mate I can tell you all about Cloudland - before it was demolished. Best gigs on the planet and I don[t live in Australia anymore. And, yes I have seen 'Uncle Bernie" perform at South Bank and as the indigenous Kurilpa people of West End called him Uncle.
