I'm from the Netherlands and my English teacher played this song in class, I wasn't familiar with his music because he isn't known by most people here, but I felt in love with his music immediately (and unfortunately I think I was the only one in my class).. Mr. Murray should get the recognizion he deserves for his beautiful music.

i just listened to this song after not having heard it for many years and it made me break down in streams of tears on the floor. i don’t know why, but the lyrics of this song and pete murray’s voice touch me very deeply. i realised i relate to this song a lot and it reminds me not to miss opportunities in life because of fear. as someone who has struggled with bad anxiety for several years, there are many things ive held back from doing due to my stupid anxiety and a fear of the unknown. i don’t want to be that person. a lot has improved for me over the years, but this beautiful song just makes me remember that anything is possible and that my possible achievements in life shouldn’t be stopped by fear.

we wanted this song for graduation but it was too slow so we went with lanterns by birds of tokyo
we had forever young but this song was featured on our senior video all the way back in 2006. It is weird listening to it over a decade later, almost sounds like a different song. Probably because the lyrics 'soon you'll see' actually make sense at this age. Go get it while you are young.

I remember my mum listening to this song when I was young. Recently got out of a dv situation of 4 and a half years. This song was my saviour. Listened to it everyday while in the relationship and it brought me the courage to leave.
I used to stop and watch Pete busking, he was way too good for the small crowds on the streets. All these years later and I still listen to this song on a weekly basis.

Every time I hear this song on the radio, especially in the supermarket where I work, I'm reminded of the time I spent in foster care and how much I just wanted to be back with my mum. I have wasted a big chunk of my life, and I was at the rock bottom when I listened to this song for the first time, I remember crying while listening. But things are finally getting better, I think everything will be okay in the end, sure I made many mistakes in the past, but they made me the person I am today I won't make the same mistakes again.
