Funny that I always thought they sounded like they had a lobotomy for this song. On youtube I wondered what it might sound like at ).25 faster than the normal speed....hmmm... not bad. Tried playing it at 50% faster than the original speed....... hey that's not bad either and the song finishes sooner.
@user name Its not like music has stopped just have to pull your head out and look for it. Triple j unearthed is a good stepping stone. just times were different then. People wrote music about current events and common issues because people were more informed in a less connected world then than they are now.

As a young Kiwi living in Brisbane between 1980 / 84 Aussie music was the best in the world. I still have all my vinals in my bar room and I really miss the sound of Aussie music in the early 80's. This song was a hit from the very first time I heard it. Musically it was the best time in my life. Aussie and Kiwi bands rocked my world. Do not forget Goanna or the Reels.
Great taste brother. Let's not forget the Kiwis too, mi sex, split enz, Jenny Morris, Dave dobbin, The swingers( counting the beat) etc. Brilliant time to live. Great taste bro

The 80's was the best time to grow up! Soooo good! Time goes very fast! Go to school, eat, sleep, surf, ping-pong, girls... no work, besides fixing my surfboards. My high school time!!! love it!
I was fortunate enough to have a boyfriend who surfed (when I was 16) and we used to hike to Philip Island in pairs. Mostly guys, and they were my mates as well. What a time that was! The music of the 70’s but it got so much better in the 80’s. It was the best!!

I've only been in Australia 4 yrs but luckily my wife has introduced me to so many Ozzie bands. Saw James Rayne at The Red Hot Summer Tour last weekend and he did an incredible version !!!!
Hope you enjoy this wonderful country and it's wonderful music, I'm from New Zealand have been here 34 years and still love this country as much as I did the day I first arrived
simonfuller7331 I’m going to a ticketed event to see James in a pub in November! Can’t wait for that! I hope you’re loving it here, as there is so much to see in this vast land 😊
Man these guys were good! I’m 38 yr old Aussie and have seriously neglected Aussie Crawl… all songs of my childhood, but had no idea they had all these hits! Amazing band ❤
I’m here once again and it’s 2024 such a great band Australian crawl James Rayner was such a handsome guy in the years back then .. rage tv show was fantastic in the 70s80s
I remember seeing Oz Crawl at the Melbourne Royal Show. It was about 1984 and i was 16 or so. What a concert. What a time. I got in trouble as i got home pretty late. Well worth it.
Brilliant, best band I have seen live. I have seen The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and other big bands over my lifetime, but AC was so tight I can't tell you, that was back in 1982. Love the references in this song to things that are special to Aussies, like Circular Quay, Burke & Wills and Scott of the Antarctic. Beautiful and the musicianship is stellar
I was in my first full time job that year. Hated it, and also went through a bad break up, so it's one of my least favourite years. But the music helped to make it bearable!
Australian Crawl forever , greatings from Brazil , listening in November 2018 ! Good times gone by, grew up on this, year 8 high school in1983. Take me there now ! Aussie Ruiles!!!
I'm from Perth, but I was in Sydney for 2 years. This song among others from Australian crawl reminds me of those great times. I was a driver for girls on the game in the cross. Fantastic times as a 30 year old bloke.
@@vindolanda6974 I do my friend and I loved every minute I was in Sydney. I only left the greatest job in Australia because I felt I was being forced into things I didn't agree with. Sydney has a very bad side to it, my friend. but still, I would still do it all again, no problems.
gday bloke , perth here ... 1988 was in the cross what a blast fucking crazy , the big coca cola sign and the shenanigans at the fountain , we drove from perth to go up to the brizzy world expo 1988 , what a ride that 2 month trip was ,,, i remember early hours of the morning coming down into Adelaide after crossing the nulabor being greeted by a car load of youths who hung their ass out the window at us from WA at the lights in the city, ha ha ha greetings from Adelaide i guess ,,then when entering the cross in the car late at night the first night a lady of the night sticking her head in the window of the car offering to take 3 of us on for $50 ,,cheap root by today's prices ha ha ha , good memories great times there were many more

My first time hearing them was today. I would have loved them in the 80's just as I do now. I agree, very under-rated. Could have made top 10 list in US easily in the 80's.
man growing up in australia during the time of aussie crawl was something that will never be repeated anywhere, the ripples of this music will keep flowing on through space and time for a long way to come yeah
Great song, undeniable. The guitar playing of Simon Binks should be spoken about more though - such great melodies and hooks and emotion. He really elevated this song and so many Australian Crawl tunes. The classical solo and then the crying notes at the tail of the song.... just perfect!
1985 I was 13 years old in south Brazil. This song was big back then. it was an amazing time , my first "reuniao dancante" . Dance party basically . It all seems like a lifetime away . Unfortunately Brazil is a much different country today. The afro beats took over and it's all been do down hill since then.
I wish I could go back to the 80’s we have the best pub band best Aussie bands best time everything was unreal .when we got away with so much lol. I’d hate to be growing up now in this messed up world .and I bet slot if other people wish they could go back to ? 💞💞💞
With my night time job I always have the radio on triple m and after listening for a few years now I’ve definitely grown a much bigger appreciation for old school rock especially great Aussie bands like Aus crawl, Chisel, Midnight oil and the Angels.
The 80's in Australia were an absolute fantastic time to live.
Agreed
Now you have today's crap. 😭
Abso-bloody-lutely they were!

Hunters and collectors, screaming jets, Diesel, Hoodoo Gurus lol great memories
That's an impressive list, including the venues. To which I'd add The London Tavern in Caulfield.

Awesome band. Looking forward to hearing James new album. Great memories
Seeing this tonight at Toronto...Good old days....Woo Hoo!
Great song, undeniable. The guitar playing of Simon Binks should be spoken about more though - such great melodies and hooks and emotion. He really elevated this song and so many Australian Crawl tunes. The classical solo and then the crying notes at the tail of the song.... just perfect!
'...the crying notes at the tail of the song...' Yes, so well said. The solo really makes it.
Grande canção, uma música q escuto desde criança e irei escutar até apagarem-se as luzes!!!
Procurei a tradução e nao achei
Adoro essa música♥♥
AH QUANTO DRAMA TEATRAL!
@@marcellaazevedo1396 também procurei e não achei . Queria ouvir , muito beijo na boca dei na adolescência no ritmo desta música .
Couldn't agree more my mate
The finger picking on that solo is so clean!
Grande Banda Australian Crawl 80s Linda essa Música
Just thought of this song tonight after so many years. Must've last heard it on radio while still living in Oz in the 80's. Still a great song.
I wish I could go back to the 80’s we have the best pub band best Aussie bands best time everything was unreal .when we got away with so much lol. I’d hate to be growing up now in this messed up world .and I bet slot if other people wish they could go back to ? 💞💞💞
Stands the test of time. Would have still been a hit in the 90's too.
Australian bands of the 70's and 80's produced such great music, bring it all back, most of the music thereafter was rubbish
Awesome band my favourite 80s band James reign
Great song listen to the words. I was young and high and now I am old and high and still it stands the test of time.
Brilliant SONG
MY FAVOURITE ARTIST EVER 👍😍❤️
Que música espetacular, era piá nessa época mas curto muito
With my night time job I always have the radio on triple m and after listening for a few years now I’ve definitely grown a much bigger appreciation for old school rock especially great Aussie bands like Aus crawl, Chisel, Midnight oil and the Angels.
I live in Brazil and this song I listened to at parties in the 80's, it brought me many good memories
This group and also ice underater.
These people are my favourite 😍
Hugely underrated. World class...simple ! 😎👍
I'm 42 I will listen to this to the day I die
