There are actually some combinations that do NOT do what they say they do and some exceed expectations. Firefly frenzy like the extra handling and reload
I've already put 2,2k kills on mine with Firefly + Rampage. I've used it in normal & legendary Onslaught, patrol, Master Nightmare Hunt & GM, legendary Dares... I've loved it everywhere.

I like the part about how this will “sunset” a lot of weapons in our vaults. Maybe that should be a new section: “what you can delete in your vault if you get this weapon!”
Ha, true words. Had a Fatebringer that I didn't like but had to use because it was the best I had. But after I got Coup with EP+OFA, I didn't hesitate to delete that Fatebringer.
This is something I’d like to see
I think about that every time I run out of vault space. It's flooded with God rolls, one for pve and one for pvp of almost every weapon. There's no way I actually need them all
I can't wait for Blast Furnace with Frenzy + Kinetic Tremors. Frenzy fixes the low handling and reload while adding damage. And it's an Aggressive 4 round burst and Kinetic Tremors needs 11 shots to land. That's a beautiful weapon.

This is something that’s worth it I reckon. Kinetics need tremors to be good and all primaries needs a damage perk to be good. Perfect combo 👌

i always thought your ways of review were incredible. you always put a lot of thought on each one of them. and even more great, you earn it yourself, grind the weapon itself , try it yourself and not by reviewing other people roll. come on guys. he should at least have a million subscribers by now. he do a lot of effort to the greatness of destiny
6:20 Explosive payload + one-for-all is also super easy to proc in onslaught bc of the explosion. So many times ive fired into a group and gotten it going off of one shot. Super happy with it!

Hey CoolGuy, you need to go for a Firefly/zen moment for pvp. Before yall bash saying I'm trolling, works best as arc warlock while using chromatic fire. Firefly is 80, chromatic fire is 100 after a precision kill. so you only need a 1 tap on guardians grouped close together. I use it as an anti-group weapon since that's kind of what the meta is
I feel like Chromatic is gonna find it's way into the exotic class items.
Thematically I think it fits with prismatic, and if set up with the fragment that gives extra light/dark energy on kinetic damage will synergize really well.
Firefly doing solar damage base will help the light energy charge faster, combine it with a strand or stasis super to get additional dark energy.
From 1 weapon, 1 fragment and half of the class item exotic you have a workhorse that can fuel your transcendent loop on its own.
@joshtenney4143 I only run arc pve with chromatic fire but I run luminous instead ao everything is Blinded but I give team 35% damage buff, which overrides radiant 25% and is an exotic so extra red bar damage too

Firefly is also a reload perk
in my opinion getting multikills in PvP is a luxury and you should focus your build on getting the kills in the first place and not betting on perks that activate after the kill. that being said, i suck at PvP so i really need any help i can get with my gun fights lol.

Really good and comprehensive review. You confirmed what I suspected and felt. This will be a nice nostalgia weapon and option for PvE but it’s not made to be a top tier pick in any particular arena. The one thing that doesn’t show on paper is the ease of read on the sights. They’re nice and clear being separated from the model.

You are the one who sold me on Shoot to Loot/Kinetic Tremors. Every time I see it on a weapon I hunt it down every time I see the combo. Got it a while back on Midnight Coup and it rocks for me on an Arc Titan setup I'm using.
I think i used up all my rng for 2024.
My 1st shiny and got shoot to loot explosive with kinetic tremors and one for all ❤

Attrition Orbs is amazing in GMs not just for you, but for your teammates. The Orb is not an insignificant amount of Super energy, and you generate them *on your position* for your mates. Amazing engine piece.
Attrition Orbs does not spawn on your position. They spawn off the enemy.

Seen a lot of other creators recommend Firefly and Frenzy and just scratching my head each time, since each on their own gets the reload up to 100. Really happy you didn't recommend that one and pointed out the ExplPayload and OFA combo which is what I'm hunting for. This gun is replacing my timelost fatebringer for sure.
I think I'll go firefly OFA...firefly is just one of the most "fun" perks in the game I think. That said, I love the deepdive on EP interactions, I had no idea! May look for a OFA EP roll.

As a controller scrub, there is something that feels so amazing about this gun. I have a 5/5 rose, a 5/5 adept exalted, 5/5 eyasluna, etc, but this has got to be the one im winning the most duels with. That sight is so clean, that sound is so powerful and crisp, the aim assist is ridiculous, and opening shot with 70 range feels great.
Honestly especially with deterministic recoil I found that so many weapons you just have to try it out to really get a good idea of how it feels. Kept Confidence on paper has nothing that really has it beat other HCs besides it having been one of the first strand HCs but the reason so many enjoyed it (including myself) was the feel and looks of the gun.
I appreciate the realism on weapon rolls. I've seen way too many posts out there about how this is the best hand cannon destiny has ever had. It's just click bait and makes me a little offended that they think we're all that dumb. Yeah, it's a good handcannon because of the perks, but it's not the best legendary or even in the top 3

I received 2 aigjt shiny MC though explosive payload/desperate measures is neat.
My normals are great firefly/frenzy/firefly/rampage, firefly/ofa. Then firefly /kt, and a attrition orb/kt roll. Loving en.
On my second drop I got a shiny with explosive and frenzy/desperate measures that I'm loving. I'm also really loving a firefly one for all that seems to do really well and just got a shiny I haven't used yet with firefly and tremor that I want to give a shot too. This was my most anticipated weapon from the bunch and it hasn't disappointed!
EP & OFA is super fun. The fact that it still feels like it pulls its weight in waves 30-40 in onslaught is impressive.

I got one with firefly kinetic tremors and the origin trait is like having demolitionist on the same weapon with a light subclass. Its got ad clear, dps on yellow bars, and ability energy all on the same roll. Its crazy good.
StL+KT is the one roll I didn’t get before I switch my attunement back to Hung Jury.
Admittedly I forgot/was unaware it was a thing. I’ll have to go back for it some point.

I was blessed today with a shiny with shoot to loot, kinetic tremors, with attrition orbs and zen wish zen wasn't there but still very very happy then got the 5/5 elsie 😁😁😁
I'm using a shiny explosive payload/one for all, was originally chasing tremors/firefly for the fun factor but it's grown on me so much.
With that 15% kinetic damage it hits hard.
@@KayronTho Yeah, it chunks a lot of stuff pretty easily. Just super reliable in case I have no idea what gun to play or wanna play an exotic special energy.

Love my firefly with rampage of OFA. Got a FF/Kt tremors got quite a few that seem to have a play depending on how you approach an engagement.

Got a outlaw one for all and put a counterbalance stock on it with small bore and accurized rounds, feels like a lazer in comparison to my luna’s howl
I ran with a recluse with subsidence and desperate measures, and also hung jury with connect tremors and desperate measures, and the perk is active for both as you switch between the guns something you should check out
I got a shiny with explosive payload in first column and a choice of rampage or one for all in the 2nd. Been using rampage but I think I'll switch
I got a shiny drop first day of the coup being added to the pool with firefly + one for all, surprisingly effective
I have two that I have liked. Explosive and Desperate Measures and then a shiny with Attrition and Kinetic Tremors. Both are fun and in something like Onslaught I start with the explosive roll then swap to the shiny around wave 25/30.
Is firefly better than incandescent? I’m having trouble caring about it… if I have a solar build will there be synergy?

I personally like using weighted knife to get a kill proc radiant on hit and then get desperate measures times 2 all in one go. All the damage.

i do wanna try the shoot to loot kenetic tremors the stunning adds good utility same with shoot to loot and in higher content stuff like that is super useful
Excellent take on the PvP utility, especially as we have the mother of all low-range PvP beast hand cannons coming up with the Luna's Howl reprise. Will be very interesting to compare the two as range was always Luna's Achilles heel as well. I expect really mixed feelings for it based on playing around with the original (and also Not Forgotten) in quickplay - they have just been so crept at this point.

@@ShutchyerLips It really hit you in the feels after doing the whole pinnacle quest and finally getting it, and learning that at short-medium range you were a slaying machine... that still got easily picked off by Ace.
And then came Not Forgotten.
@@amethystlegion I totally remember tons of people saying Lunas was better than not forgotten, but I had a sneaking suspicion they just never made it to legend rank. I much preferred NF, and I still break it out every couple of months to remember how it feels

I have two half decent rolls (PvE) the OG roll (Outlaw+Rampage) and one I was after (Firefly+Frenzy) and the latter is just so buttery smooth, I have a crafted nation of beasts with enhanced Dragonfly+enhanced Voltshot, and this bad boy shows that roll up so BAD it's dirty.

smallbore / accurise / explosive p / kinetic tremors
flutedbarrel / appended / enlighted action / zen movement

I'd love to try a 5 out of 5 in pvp, but without crafting it doesn't feel obtainable. Been farming all week and have had horrible luck with this gun unfortunately. I want moving target with zen moment (i dont like explosive since it reduces damage slightly) with small bore and the rest into range. I agree that I think I'd rather just use austringer instead and not grind for this when the stats are worse.
Kinetic tremors and attrition orbs is crazy good with builds designed for super regain.... star eater with arc hunter or shards with blade barrage for instance
Feels good, sounds good, perks allgood. It's perfect. And I think Bungie did a rare balancing act here in that they made the weapon mega powercreep for Pve, but not Pvp. It's got rolls in pvp but doesn't invalidate its competition and I thimk that's alright.
Hey coolguy, would you be willing to do a review of the old mega 140s to see how they stand up today? Stuff like palindrome, dire promise, fatebringer, etc?

I'm absolutely a sucker for Midnight since Vanilla D2, so maybe i'm re-adjusting to it, but I personally had fun with Enlightened/Zen Moment. Also added a Corkscrew and Accurized with a Range Masterwork. Compared to other hand cannons, yes the range does suck HOWEVER I feel like this is a scrapper hand cannon, instead of playing range it feels like more of a "in your face" type of playstyle weapon, so it truly is up to preference. Though on the PvE side Kinetic Tremors feels like a kick to my knees, but maybe i'll give it a go for harder content and worry less about KT being better on other weapons. I'm just glad Midnight Soup is back in general, one of my favorite Hand Cannons.

I have a perfect shiny PvP roll and IMO MT+ZM feels the best. I can swap out ZM for OS and MT with EP on the same roll and just feel that Zen and MT are perfect.
Never thought to use one for all in pvp, very spicy 🌶️
I love my kinetic tremors shoot to loot roll it’s gonna be wonders for gms.
The roll I want is shoot to loot zen accurized full bore and a range mw and when it becomes enhancable range will be 80 stability will be 50.
I think I need STL / KT on this. And I'd love to try Zen Moment / EP , those are two of my fave pvp perks. But the base range and stability worry me.
Rampage not applying the extra damage to Explosive Payload damage seems like a bug when every othe dmg perk does... Hopefully its fixed at some point to bring it back up to par, though people might still find Desperate Measures more favourable.

Do a new review on austringer the gun is a beast in the current meta with hammerforged / ricco / etos / zen (71 range/81stab/49handling). The gun got really unpopular after the rangefinder nerf but now with explosive payload nerfed and zen moment buffed its the #1 legendary meta 140 handcannon for pvp imo.
Run chambered comp and a stability MW. Trust. Everything else on your roll keep the same.

For pvp I still won’t use this over Austringer.

Firefly and one for all is very fun
No shiny, but a couple of nice rolls: EP-DM for pve, Firefly-Zen for pvp. Still waiting to get Firefly-OFA. However, something i noticed, EP is doing less damage in pvp: 81 to the head without, 78 with. Still a good dueling perk, but with the gun already strugging with range I'm kinda mixed on a perk that causes me to lose damage when competing with natural 140s. The stat update helps, but I've found that I have to use it like I use Spare: be more aggressive and push into ranges where you don't get get that damage drop-off. However, the weapon itself *feels* amazing. Zen with smallbore and accurized gives it good range and insane stability. I've been running with target adjuster so far due to instinct, but I'll definitely try counterbalance to see if it helps with that bounce.
Attrition + Kinetic slaps
To be completely honest, I kinda tuned out of midnight coup bc fatebringer does what I want from a kinetic handcannon better. Maybe with prismatic ill fall back in love with kinetic weapons but not having osmosis to challenge fatebringer just kills any PvE use I would have for it, kinetic tremors shoot to loot is great, but I would rather have that on a 180 or even a wardens law so I can get to the tremors faster
Damn here I was thinking EP/Rampage would be my new niche main.
