Project complete! Lots of firsts: milled all the stock from rough walnut, bridle joints, tapered legs, and hard wax oil finish. Looks and feels great. Could have been a bit taller though.

I just rewatched this video to get inspiration for a console table to go with our new sectional. Turns out we have the same type of sectional that your client has!
Excellent work. Understated design (my personal preference but its personal) very well made. All that showcased with a really high class video and commentary. You deserve success on social media and with clients. Good luck - making bespoke furniture in the UK is very niche and not many can make a living just from that. Hence, the number of furniture schools.
Thank you very much! And yes, building furniture alone as a full-time job is certainly not an easy, nor lucrative career path for most. Finding the right clientele for your style or skill set can be challenging. And to be honest, just building furniture with creating content around it, would burn me out very quickly.

Very cool project. I’d like to build this for an entry table and with a wood top. Could a drawer be added under the top? Because of the angled legs maybe not a drawer that goes from leg to leg but something that fills some space between the legs. No offense that I’m trying to change it since it’s fabulous just as it is and I’m thinking of ways it could fit my space better.

Thanks Dave! Started woodworking in 8th grade and caught the bug from there. Worked for a contractor in high school during summer vacations doing random things like roofing, decking, drywall, etc. and built my first piece of furniture (a dresser) in college. Read a lot of books and magazines and started building my tool arsenal after college. Worked as a finish carpenter in between corporate jobs and started building commissioned pieces and re-investing that money in my shop. It just kept snowballing from there...books, magazines, online videos, more tools...to learn as much as I could and then put that into practice building furniture, as well as built-ins and cabinets. And what was a hobby with commissions has now grown into a full-time business. Scary! I didn't take any formal woodworking or furniture making classes until last Fall. Hope this gives a little insight!

TB3 is fine as long as you move quickly. And yes, you can use Rubio Pure on cherry, but I wouldn't use it on maple - it will turn it yellow.
