Nice! Death of a dead day was on heavy rotation back in the day! There are some corkers on there; can’t wait to see more Sikth analysis! Bland Street Bloom is a favourite!
Oh damn yes! Sikth are still one of my favourite bands, even more than 20 years on! Please please please, more from this band and more of this album. This album is an absolute masterpiece!
Man back in the early 2000s I saw Sikth live so many times. The trees are dead and dried out wait for something wild was such a sick album. Mikee had some of the wildest vocals. He was almost more of a voice actor than a vocalist.
i love this band! and i am wearing my sikth t shirt at work today. serendipity indeed! i won't suggest another one of theirs to analyse, there are too many bangers to whittle down, but i hope you enjoy wherever the watford-induced-rabbit-hole takes you.
My old guitarist and I were both music majors and so used to trade bands back when mix tapes/CDs were a thing. Sikth's "Bland Street Bloom" blew my mind and definitely stayed in my rotation for a while.
I was in studio when this album was recorded in Miami in like 2006? Bieler Bros studio. The most underrated djent album of all time. They will tell you themselves, sincerely, but there is no such thing as Periphery without SikTh. These guys were our heroes.
Also, the “weird” vocalist, Mikee Goodman, is featured prominently in Disco Elysium if anyone’s ever played that game. He voices the ancient reptilian brain, limbic system, spinal cord, etc.
Lolliii. Smash me down with a field of flowers! I enjoyed your analysis and editing more than the song. Still, it was interesting to take my ears down that proggy rocky metallic road. Thanks for broadening my life even more.
I knew exactly which band we were dealing with after reading "multi-layered screams" and "most underrated metal band ever". I'm glad I learned about them even though they were on a hiatus at the time. They quickly became one of my favourites. And now I'm reminded that I still haven't listened to their latest album from 2017.
I love music with some complexity. This definitely fits the bill. There’s a lot to pick out here, and your analysis really helps to explain the mechanisms of sounds I enjoy, but don’t understand thoroughly. Thank you!
For a vocal coach, I think that Ayreon - Twisted Coil is a must react, as the vocals in the live performance from the Electric Castle show by Damian Wilson are simply insane.
Fun fact vocalist Mikee Goodman did a lot of voices for Disco Elysium. Listen to When Will The Forest Speak for the true vibes, and familiarity iof you've played that game
This makes me want you to listen/analyze/react to Vildhjarta. One of the most epic metal bands. Pretty much the father of the sub genre Thall. And one of the members Buster, now has a style named after him to. Buster Core. He is being hired by many metal bands to do production. But would be so cool to see you react to Vildhjarta - Den Helige Anden A masterclass of technical metal.
SikTh were unfortunately so far ahead of their time. A shame that the style of music they helped pioneer only became super popular in the generation of bands inspired by them.
Well, they definitely made sounds that are interesting, the most important thing. Not my preferred style of music, but was actually pretty good. Arrangement seemed fairly full.
Never heard this band before - a little more on the progressive side than most of what I listen to, but very cool and very interesting. Definitely they're doing something incredibly unique and I love that. If you're interested in another very underrated metal band, check out Seven Spires. They released an outstanding album earlier this year. Check out "Architect of Creation" or "Almosttown".
Not my cup of tea, but I will say that the growling and screaming seemed more appropriate than in some I've heard. I will take this opportunity to extol the virtues of my favorite metal band, Lovebites. Give them the Lolli treatment, and I think everyone will be entertained.
I hear a lot of SOAD, and to a lesser extent some of the more theatrical dual-vocal early Avenged Sevenfold influences here. But then pairing that era of influences with a very modern sort of dowtuned ultra-tight/-technical proggy instrumental part - that makes me think this band is really going somewhere big soon.. Edit: shit I did NOT realize this song came out in 2006. Makes me VERY impressed by the high level of its production/instrumental then. Wow!
Hello my favorite reaction channel ... well in fact you have 2 reaction channels but i like both. As you like metal. Why not reacting to my favorite metal band. They are 5 women from Japan. And are not a marketing product as baby metal is. Let me introduct tou to Lovebites. 5 world class musiciens. I don't give you a link. Just go to official lo évites channel and choose any live video. There is no bad song. See you soon in faeryland.
She didn't say Jinjer influenced Sikth. She said that Tatiana does everything well and as a result, new singers feel they need to do everything well. She then used Sikth as a counterpoint to illustrate what happens when your talents build on and complement others' talents.

Scent Of The Obscene was my intro!
YES! My all time favourite band. Thank you for giving them some recognition!
Death of a Dead Day is so ahead of its time. They are such a unique band. Incredible song writing and melodies
@@iamrichlol Are you having a discussion with yourself? Lol
@@rjr6912 sure
Sikth rule, ty for that reaction!

I have a signed poster of this album. Seen them live multiple times, legendary British band.
Never heard of them, but now I'm checking them out for sure!
Thanks a lot ❤
Sikth is groove incarnate, they're so damn good!
Also, the “weird” vocalist, Mikee Goodman, is featured prominently in Disco Elysium if anyone’s ever played that game. He voices the ancient reptilian brain, limbic system, spinal cord, etc.
Wow didn't know that

One of my top 5 bands
Sikth is an experience

I remember this well, it was good fun chatting about it!
Interesting song, I did actually listen to more but it’s not really in my listening list!
Met those guys many a time back in the day. Circa 2001 some of those guys were really good dudes.
clicked in and upvoted as soon as i saw the band. sikth are as criminally underrated as berried alive imo
btw, i highly recommend Beyond the Fond Old River and Summer Rain from the same album.
For a vocal coach, I think that Ayreon - Twisted Coil is a must react, as the vocals in the live performance from the Electric Castle show by Damian Wilson are simply insane.
They told us, "You never go full Korn." Sikth replied, "Hold my beer."
Thanks gorgeous ❤❤❤❤
Please, please do a reaction to the band Jellyfish and their song Joining A Fan Club! I think you’ll really love the vocals in that one!

You forgot to tell me to wear my headphones to fully appreciate the layers and texture..... Fortunately I figured it out quickly.
Reminds me of Opeth

A masterclass of technical metal.

Well, they definitely made sounds that are interesting, the most important thing. Not my preferred style of music, but was actually pretty good. Arrangement seemed fairly full.
Aviations is another criminally underrated prog metal band. Check out their songs Outliers and/or Coma. World-class musicians across the board.

I can hear shades of Ian Astbury (The Cult) and Jonathan Davis (Korn).

On my knees begging for you to finish the sleep token album

The Warning Again!!!!
Jinjer formed in 2008, Sikth formed in 1999 when Tatiana was 12 so I'm pretty sure she didn't influence their vocal style.
She didn't say Jinjer influenced Sikth. She said that Tatiana does everything well and as a result, new singers feel they need to do everything well. She then used Sikth as a counterpoint to illustrate what happens when your talents build on and complement others' talents.
sixth is so hard to say. tongue breaker
it's not sixth though, it's sik-th
even harder to spell apparantly
sith
Jinger influenced Sikth? LOL
