In this video, I react for the first time to the British band TesseracT and their original song “Legion”. In this video, I analyse this amazing performance, explain and demonstrate Daniel Tompkins vocal techniques and tell you what I think made it so great. This is an amazing tune and I am so glad I finally reacted to it!

Hello, gorgeous! I'm Lolli, your Fairy Voice Mother. I am a voice teacher & vocal anatomy nerd specialising in contemporary techniques. I have a degree in vocal performance, and I am studying for a masters degree in voice pedagogy. I sing all the time in styles such as pop, jazz, rock, metal, soul, Hindustani, Carnatic and I am constantly learning and practicing new vocal skills. I just bloody love singing. It's my favourite thing in the whole world, and because I love you, I want you to sing too. I believe everyone can sing, and my mission with this channel is to break down techniques that are so often portrayed as something to be exclusively accessed by people with a special talent. Well. Special talents can be learnt, and I am here to teach them to you.

I'm so excited to be a part of your singing journey, It's one that truly never ends.

TesseracT - Hexes (featuring Martin Grech), live in the Studio for exquisite ear candy and superb harmonies between the two Singers.
Also: Leprous - Castaway Angels - The Voice of Einar Solberg will melt your heart, the drumming of Baard Kolstad will keep it pumping.

Several vocal expert channels have checked this one out lately...I only wish it had been a few months ago when the album came out! This band deserves more attention, and Daniel Tompkins should certainly be known as one of the best singers in metal right now.

Too many have slept on Tesseract. Cool to see this song getting some hype. They’ve been overdue for a good decade now.

I was really surprised by how few Spotify listeners they have. They’re one of the OG prog metal bands for this style, I think they’re been around since ‘03. I know they play huge festivals and tour regularly but I still feel like they deserve more recognition. Amazing live band also.

I'd consider him one of the best in metal as a whole right now. His ability to extend through multiple ranges and techniques and sound so incredible and crisp is honestly such a treat.

The algorithm sent me here because I think TesseracT is awesome and this track is one of the best from the past year, and while this will sound snobbish, I am SO GLAD to finally see a "musician reactor for musicians"! I've lost count of the vocal coaches or singers or musicians who never sing or play a note, miscount every time signature, and ask to hear in the comments "what instrument is that?!" when it's something every 6th-grade band student knows. I'm not exactly looking for a Rick Beato breakdown of the stems in every reaction, but if someone is going to use bona fides to draw in views, at least show them every once in a while. Subscribed!

I love Dan's voice for years now but I think this album is his biggest moment so far. Can you PLEASE react to October Ends? Nick's voice is definitely one of the best in the scene if not the best. He's honestly insanely good especially on Damaged, DARK and End Up Dead. Please react to these!!!

If you enjoyed the drumming that much, check out Jay Postones (drummer) own TH-cam channel! I just stumbled upon it a couple of days ago, and it’s really good! I’m not a drummer by any means myself, but the way he explains how to think about odd time signatures and polyrhythms is so very intuitive and understandable. Also, just amazing playing in his examples!

Hey Lolli! Long time viewer here. I’ve always appreciated your energy and I hope you’re doing well cuz sometimes you seem a bit down and unfortunately as you know being highly empathetic has a dark side.
Anyways, I am curious what your thoughts are on Metal after having been exposed to genre in a big way. Because of your intellect, strong empathy and passion for music and humans being awesome I think it would be really interesting to hear your perspective on music and its progression in a more general sense. Doesn’t have to be metal specific that’s only my preference.
Do you think that is a fun video idea for you? 👋🏻

No offense to anyone, I like TesseracT, but when he started going from 1:08, it sounded like someone stuck something up you know what and he went all "ooow, oooow, eeooooowwwwww". :D Please forgive me lol. Love this song, it's a journey. It's not just the vocals(least fav part as you can tell), just like in Sleep Token, everything here is crafted beautifuly! 2:31 I love this XD That's how I'm pronouncing this band from now on. But, sing song is most probably the "Sing for Absolution", but in prog metal.

I love the way you break down the tracks. As a self thought guitarist, you really help to see the little things in music that involve music theory and how phrases can bring about specific feelings and how to use that as a musician.
