Doing projects on a budget should be a constant theme of this show. I'm certain Tony will want to get into more expensive projects as the channel grows but I'd love for the theme of the channel to stay cheap projects. The Sykeclone is the coolest build on TH-cam IMO because if you've got $20k to buy yourself a sports vehicle and you want something really fast, you might be able to do this truck better than anything you can buy, including adding labor costs for work you can't do if you don't have a lift.
The fact that the average fella watching is probably living to there means budget, cheap ,inexpensive builds like this can get us in the mini van so to say and headed to the junk yard to check for tin pile treasures motivates for sure sweet little truck for sure ! Thanks for the motivation for us average Joe's!
Cam and rings are certainly going to have an affect on the blow thru carb. As far as the trans issues go, Stay with the v6 converter, but upgrade the guts to what the v8s came with ( and yes, they are different ). Also, you may want to contact performabuilt transmissions ( who also have a youtube channel ) right there not far from you in PA. Who knows, they MIGHT be interested in sponsoring you. They know more than most about getting the best out of the 4l60's.
This makes me wonder if MT hasn't been more than a little short sighted. I guess we'll never really know the financials but it's so good to see these content creators thriving on their own.

Mt used TH-cam to build a huge fan base then left and lied said you could watch for free on their website. Was free for half a episode then wanted a cash 👎 Know we have one of the other channels VGG has gotten big and greedy . Not against making money but stay honest and don't get greedy .

I detailed cars for about a decade and the SikeClone with just a buff and cleaned up wheels is one of the most dramatic glow ups I've seen from a car before and after an exterior detailing, I love how it's still ratty yet looks so much better cleaned up, I don't even think it needs to be repainted!
Congratulations on 200k subs,Your Sike Clone build has inspired me and my 15 yr old son to do the same build on his 53 Plymouth 2 dr hardtop . We've already took our 1st test drive and it is stupid fast,along with being very unique(not many AWD turbo V6 53 Plymouth's out there 😂).

Tony, Your "not looking" comment reminded me of a story. Decades ago Chrysler Corporation ran MoTech. MoTech was an automotive trade school for adults. When interviewing the man who was to be the transmission rebuild instructor it was determined that he was blind. He stated that you did not look at what you were doing you felt what you were doing. He was hired and was a great instructor.
I would love to see you guys make it look as original as possible but faster 💪🏼 and yes this is my most favorite build I've ever seen on TH-cam and I'm addicted and been watching for years lol 😜

I had a red 1988 GMC S15 as my second vehicle. I kept it for 8 years and I still miss it. It was a great little truck. I learned my first mechanic skills on that truck.
I put a lockup converter in my 4l60 in my supercharged malibu. I used a B&M lockup controller from summit and a TCI triple disc lock-up converter. I have it lock up at 45mph. It holds the 400+ whp and It makes all the difference with the acceleration. Highly recommend.
It isn't fuel injected, at least not yet. If you go back to the beginning of the build, you would see that Tony put a blow through carb on it. I think it's time for a Sniper EFI kit.

I remember voting heavily for Tony to get cast in roadkill garage. And when they went ppv I followed but then it cut everyone off who wasn’t in the states. I lost all hope of entertaining roadkill content but when Tony started TH-cam I was instantly all in
I like this type of content, it's more realistic for the average person. Most of us cant go buy a brand new truck, drop an additional 20-30k in parts in it and just laugh it off when the block gets fisted by a rod.
If anyone was apart of the s10 forum in the 90s you’d probably remember a young man that was on there that did something similar with his father. If I remember correctly, it had what called the “wildside” fiberglass truck bed, used the awd components from an Astro van, silver (like that Indy syclone) with the c4 sawblades (or another clean selection) - I remember it being pretty sweet. I had built 4.3 at this time with a v1 sc/intercooled. Also can’t remember if it was awd but there was the “SYborg”. That was also before TH-cam was big but the guy was pretty detailed online with the build.
Watching y’all struggle a little getting that out reminded me: Had the spindle of a torque converter land on my finger when I was 17 while replacing the transmission in my 1974 k20 pickup on the street in front of my house back in 2009 or so. Was a pretty gnarly crush injury. Still have a scar there that runs right through my fingerprint. Those suckers are HEAVY!! Luckily I didn’t lose the tip of my finger.
I did something similar with a 4L80 in an 02 sierra 2500hd on my lawn. I put 2x6s across the frame rails, slid/held it back with ratchet straps, pulled the torque converter to drill out the busted bolts, and replaced the flywheel, rear cover, and oil pan gasket that were damaged by the broken bolts. It was a bit sketchy, but it worked, and I didn't have to try to muscle that trans in and out. It's crazy how heavy the 4L80 and torque converter are compared to the 4L60s I've done before.
Congrats on 200K! When I did my GTA rims, I used aircraft paint remover (spray and/or brush on) to get the crappy clear coat off my rims to just polish the aluminum, then recover in clear. Works on most clear or painted rims. Love the Sike Clone! A friend of mine growing up had an older brother that worked for the Fed Govt and owned a Syclone AND a Typhoon! I was sooooo jelly of that! Keep up the good work guys! REAL TV....
Those of us who where teens back in the 90’s remember how bad ass the Cyclone where. But I like yours better, hard work and hustle made it fast. Could so be a sleeper!!!

Get a Lube Locker pan gasket. They DO NOT leak, and they can be taken apart and re-installed multiple times. You won’t regret it! They also make gaskets for the rear diffs.

I've always wanted to turbo an AWD Astro van lol. Basicly this same build but leaving it in the van body for even more of a sleeper. Plus minivans are so convenient. Would make a pretty damn cool dad wagon
I absolutely loved Tony at MT and subbed here to support him and this has become my go to automotive channel and I actually check daily because I'm siked for all the projects. Particularly this cranky little S10 and I'm a Ford guy but every real car guy can appreciate smoked tires and going fast. Love it boys. Keep it up and you'll be at 500k before you know it.

I hope they don’t change because of my comment but here goes . I absolutely love the fact that the videos are longer and not so edited down like literally everyone else does. I mean yeah they have to do some but I love how he will show an entire process of installing or removing something, not just one second he is starting on it and the next scene is him tightening the last bolt going back in. I prefer the more boring drawn out but much more detailed longer videos. Not yo bad for a lil Yankee boy, keep doing what y’all do brother.

Found this channel because I was looking at getting a 1st gen S10 for a new sketchy daily with my daughter being in Pre-K now, wife needs the car. I’ve had tons of old trucks, my last one was a 95 1 Ton 7.3 Powerstroke, my 5th OBS 7.3 but sadly its being parted out now. Diesel being up there with gold price wise I figured a mini would be an awesome project to switch things up. I stumbled upon this series and looks like I was right, always look forward to the next upload as this is my favorite little series on TH-cam right now!

Probably need bigger bump stops in the back. Ideally you want less than 1 inch of travel for the best traction. Congrats on 200k! Very fun stuff to watch.
I love the down and dirty type of build, but I hope as time goes on you make this reasonably nice. Like cleaning and painting the frame once the suspension is in its final configuration. Budget paint job and upgrade and make the interior decent.

I put the 1-2 Corvette servo, 3-4 shift parts and the trans pressure valve on my 4L60E trans, and what a difference in my 2000 Astro panel van. It has a 350 FI crate truck engine and I used the factory V-8 torque converter. I t launches real hard if you throttle it, or it runs smoother if you just cruise it. It shocks the crap out of people who don't expect an Astro van to leave them at the light.

With the 4.3 you need to add another injector in the intake tube to get enough fuel.

I remember voting heavily for Tony to get cast in roadkill garage. And when they went ppv I followed but then it cut everyone off who wasn’t in the states. I lost all hope of entertaining roadkill content but when Tony started TH-cam I was instantly all in
I like this type of content, it's more realistic for the average person. Most of us cant go buy a brand new truck, drop an additional 20-30k in parts in it and just laugh it off when the block gets fisted by a rod.
Please don’t burn out, one of the best automotive channels on TH-cam.

I criticized the ‘80 Dodge truck video but this one is a winner.
If anyone was apart of the s10 forum in the 90s you’d probably remember a young man that was on there that did something similar with his father. If I remember correctly, it had what called the “wildside” fiberglass truck bed, used the awd components from an Astro van, silver (like that Indy syclone) with the c4 sawblades (or another clean selection) - I remember it being pretty sweet. I had built 4.3 at this time with a v1 sc/intercooled.
Also can’t remember if it was awd but there was the “SYborg”. That was also before TH-cam was big but the guy was pretty detailed online with the build.
Watching y’all struggle a little getting that out reminded me: Had the spindle of a torque converter land on my finger when I was 17 while replacing the transmission in my 1974 k20 pickup on the street in front of my house back in 2009 or so. Was a pretty gnarly crush injury. Still have a scar there that runs right through my fingerprint. Those suckers are HEAVY!! Luckily I didn’t lose the tip of my finger.
I did something similar with a 4L80 in an 02 sierra 2500hd on my lawn. I put 2x6s across the frame rails, slid/held it back with ratchet straps, pulled the torque converter to drill out the busted bolts, and replaced the flywheel, rear cover, and oil pan gasket that were damaged by the broken bolts. It was a bit sketchy, but it worked, and I didn't have to try to muscle that trans in and out. It's crazy how heavy the 4L80 and torque converter are compared to the 4L60s I've done before.
Congrats on 200K! When I did my GTA rims, I used aircraft paint remover (spray and/or brush on) to get the crappy clear coat off my rims to just polish the aluminum, then recover in clear. Works on most clear or painted rims. Love the Sike Clone! A friend of mine growing up had an older brother that worked for the Fed Govt and owned a Syclone AND a Typhoon! I was sooooo jelly of that! Keep up the good work guys! REAL TV....
Those of us who where teens back in the 90’s remember how bad ass the Cyclone where. But I like yours better, hard work and hustle made it fast. Could so be a sleeper!!!

Get a Lube Locker pan gasket. They DO NOT leak, and they can be taken apart and re-installed multiple times. You won’t regret it! They also make gaskets for the rear diffs.

I've always wanted to turbo an AWD Astro van lol. Basicly this same build but leaving it in the van body for even more of a sleeper. Plus minivans are so convenient. Would make a pretty damn cool dad wagon

I absolutely loved Tony at MT and subbed here to support him and this has become my go to automotive channel and I actually check daily because I'm siked for all the projects. Particularly this cranky little S10 and I'm a Ford guy but every real car guy can appreciate smoked tires and going fast. Love it boys. Keep it up and you'll be at 500k before you know it.

I hope they don’t change because of my comment but here goes . I absolutely love the fact that the videos are longer and not so edited down like literally everyone else does. I mean yeah they have to do some but I love how he will show an entire process of installing or removing something, not just one second he is starting on it and the next scene is him tightening the last bolt going back in. I prefer the more boring drawn out but much more detailed longer videos. Not yo bad for a lil Yankee boy, keep doing what y’all do brother.

Found this channel because I was looking at getting a 1st gen S10 for a new sketchy daily with my daughter being in Pre-K now, wife needs the car. I’ve had tons of old trucks, my last one was a 95 1 Ton 7.3 Powerstroke, my 5th OBS 7.3 but sadly its being parted out now. Diesel being up there with gold price wise I figured a mini would be an awesome project to switch things up. I stumbled upon this series and looks like I was right, always look forward to the next upload as this is my favorite little series on TH-cam right now!

Probably need bigger bump stops in the back. Ideally you want less than 1 inch of travel for the best traction. Congrats on 200k! Very fun stuff to watch.

I love the down and dirty type of build, but I hope as time goes on you make this reasonably nice. Like cleaning and painting the frame once the suspension is in its final configuration. Budget paint job and upgrade and make the interior decent.

I put the 1-2 Corvette servo, 3-4 shift parts and the trans pressure valve on my 4L60E trans, and what a difference in my 2000 Astro panel van. It has a 350 FI crate truck engine and I used the factory V-8 torque converter. I t launches real hard if you throttle it, or it runs smoother if you just cruise it. It shocks the crap out of people who don't expect an Astro van to leave them at the light.
