  • A very BIG "THANK YOU" to Nikos Vlasakis for the help with S&Ts!!!
    0:31 : Ένα παιδί τόσο ντροπαλό actually means "He's such a shy boy" but I decided to translate it as "But stills he remains a humble guy" as the word "ντροπαλό" (shy) could be read as "humble" (if you follow the meaning of the lyrics : Now Herc is the best guy in the world but still remains humble/simple)

      Well, kind of, it's still not the language as he would have spoken it, just as any other language Greek changed a lot since the ancient times.

      @@Comintern1919 Or you can view it differently, ancient greek has many changes and different versions, current version is just 4.2 or something, considering nobody knows when this myth was first started, and it has been told through the ages, you can see this as a continuation of that :)

    Fun fact: Hercules is the Latin name, the original Greek one is Heracles (today pronounced "Hiraklis")

    Has anyone ever thought that Hercules is not a Greek name but a Roman? The film takes place in ancient Greece and all the gods there are also ancient Greek. And in Greece, the Hercules' name is Heracles

      Yep he was named after Hera in the hopes that she would not hate him but considering what happened to him in mythology we can assume it didn't work.

      Interesting that in the Hellenic version they say Heracles (Hpa "Hera" Kleos" glory or gift" Heras' glory or Gift of Hera depending on which version of the story you know) rather than Hercules (what ever the fuck that version means XaXaXa 😂) almost like they were making minor corrections but keeping it PG'ish lol

      @@SyriaVeteran Because Hercules was a god of strength in Roman culture, his name WHILE a corruption of the original name into Latin, basically came to mean "Strength" hence words we have like "Herculean"

    Non mi ero mai soffermata in particolar modo sull'adattamento greco, ma devo dire che si rivela piuttosto piacevole (sia in fatto di testi, sia in fatto di voci scelte), sebbene non lontanamente paragonabile alla versione francese (oltretutto ho notato che anche qui c'è una citazione a "Veni, Vidi, Vici", come nella versione francese; ora non ricordo se fosse presente anche nell'originale inglese).
    Diciamo che è stato anche un violento "catapultaggio" (vabbè, insomma, perché basta coniare sostantivi e metterli tra virgolette per farli apparire consoni😅) nel greco antico del liceo!

    • @liukewithoutacoolname
      @liukewithoutacoolname  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kocisaurus Sì, anche a me piace molto come versione, più per un fatto di voci che adattamento però. Per carità, hanno fatto un bel lavoro (mi piace come abbiano mantenuto il “veni, vidi, vici”, ad esempio) però diciamo che mi sarei aspettato qualcosa “di più”, essendo la versione “originale” del film ahah
      Comunque, non mi lamento affatto, anzi, è una delle mie versioni preferite!

    • @Kocisaurus
      @Kocisaurus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dal punto di vista dell'adattamento del testo più che altro mi irritano le continue perifrasi su quanto sia un valoroso ragazzo, e tutte ripetute con la stessa struttura.
      E diciamo anche che il "Cercano di arrivare a lui" subito dopo a un "Corrono per vederlo", insieme al "100% Greco Genuino", come se fosse un centrifugato detox di estrema destra, non è stata la scelta più oculata.

    • @liukewithoutacoolname
      @liukewithoutacoolname  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kocisaurus quel “100% greco genuino” l’ho scelto io come adattamento/traduzione, letteralmente sarebbe “un vero greco” ahaha
      Però è vero, è un po’ ripetitivo... Tutto quel “umile ragazzo, cuore d’oro, eroe giusto, che anima...”
      Mi sarebbe piaciuto vedere qualcosa simile alle versione francese, tedesca o norvegese!

      Sí, ho preso la tua traduzione per far funzionare la battuta sul centrifugato degna del contest "Miss Barzelletta 2009", ma il concetto è quello.
      Appoggio totalmente la tua ultima frase, anche se aggiungerei anche l'adattamento italiano perché secondo me ha il suo perché, ma potrebbero comunque esserci bias in agguato.

      Sì la nostra versione merita molto, non a caso abbiamo ricevuto un riconoscimento come miglior versione straniera! Però ci sono alcune cose che, se analizzate oggettivamente, stonano un po’ (“e chi l’avrebbe pensato mai? - oggi è il più grande che sia esistito mai!”, “oggi è il più forte dell’impero!” 😪)...
