      I cut my hair into a short natural a few months ago. I do feel very unattractive with it this way. Sometimes I look in the mirror and say well you look ugly, but what can I do about it and keep moving. So idk either am I ugly or is it society. My face did not change but when I wore weave people thought I was pretty but now not so much. I’m just looked over. One woman at my job would greet me Hey beautiful everyday when she greeted me. It was only when I was wearing weaves. Now she just greets me by my name. No more beautiful which she always did.

      Do things that work for your face and make changes (if you choose) that accentuate your features. It's okay to want to better yourself and present and package yourself; but make sure that those changes and tucks work with your features and not against it.

    I never received so many compliments on my natural hair. I went to a natural hair stylist to get twists. I was a "straight natural" for years and I got tired of forcing my kinks and curls to be something they didn't want to be. Long story short my hair was unevenly damaged and I chopped it all off to an inch. I was in fight or flight mode in that chair, trying to decide if I wanted to cover it with a wig or rock it and I chose to rock it. ✌️👩🏾‍🦱 One year later and I wish it was that short and easy again.

    That aside, can we talk about diet definitely affecting your natural hair and deficiencies? Your hair is unimportant in relation to your organs etc so your hair is the last to get nutrients, so make sure you are eating what your hair needs to grow and be healthy. Also, deficiencies in folic and vit d can damage your hair and cause hair loss. Most bp don't get enough vit d, so get your bloodwork done if you are having issues with any slow growth or hair loss/thinning.

Most wear braids, elegant updos, twists, scarves, loose hair, or curly wigs. Recently, I was in the Caribbean. In my country, I have long hair for my texture (waist-length). There, I saw women with 3c to 4c hair types with their natural hair down to their hips. Hardly any wigs, and there were hair care products and accessories for our hair everywhere. But why is it all about 4c hair like the other don’t have the same treatment.

    • @yaniquewest455
      @yaniquewest455 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I guess other 4 hair types can easily fit into the 4c conversation but 4c hair is harder to fit into others in terms of beauty/struggles/manageability. Whilst someone with 4a hair can struggle with their hair type, 4c hair is often seen as more unkempt. When hair is “done” we are used to seeing defined coils (which to society is more desirable) and the majority of people who have 4c do not have defined coils. If we do, it requires A LOT more manipulation and specific techniques compared to other type 4 hair.
      That being said, someone with type 4a or 4b hair can experience the same discrimination as someone with type 4c. It’s just that it’s less likely

    If natural hair are so pretty, why do you have straight hair on your profile pic??

      Hi xdlol59, yes I have a kinky straight wig I wear here and there, and it looks good on me. Purr. I also LOVE wearing curly-coily hair ALOT. So what’s the fuss about?🤔

      @@TinuolaI think he's kinda right here , I love your channel and you nake very interesting contents. But if your channel is about embracing hair in the natural state why do you have on your profile pic a straight wig . Kinky or not , that's still a wig and straight. Unconsciously you're identifing this type of hair for important moment and important thing like putting it on your profile pic. You might look good with straight hair but you would look wonderful with your natural hair ❤
