Not really shocking. I could see more young ones doing it because so many are terrified to look older.
So many people look down on people....mainly women who look older.
They treat attractive YOUNGER looking women better, like they are more important, worth more, more valuable, more desirable and etc etc.
They treat women they deem to be less attractive or OLDER looking the opposite way. They usually don't even want to help oler looking or less attractive women when they need it. I watched that myself.
All the guys helped me, an able bodied woman because I looked young(like 20-25) and pretty despite the fact I was about to be 40,
and they didn't help the older looking, overweight disabled woman or her little girl.

The problem is women esp BW look at themselves through the male gaze. And rate themselves off of what men think. Then further more compare themselves to Europeans and their standards. Which BW aren’t white and that shouldn’t even be a comparison, at that point BW should have beauty standards for themselves. Outside what men think and/or what other races think. The quicker you stand in what you were given and enhance what God blessed you with and know there’s nothing wrong with your hair or features. The easier it is to love yourself. Why would anyone take critique from a group of people (men, esp BM) who hate themselves or can’t even execute the basics of human decency on a daily basis. This is for women who want families as well, a huge part of attraction is confidence, like true confidence. As a more watered down example. If you lack confidence, men can see that and that’s how you become their prey. Idk I just think women esp BW lose bc of this type of mindset of comparison, lack of confidence, lack or loving yourself, and seeing yourself through the male gaze.

I think as men we are concerned with what our kids would looks like particularly daugthers so the enhanced natural look is always more attractive to us. Whereas the glam look does nothing for us. I also think the female gaze now is more impactful than the male gaze. Women are undergoing enhancements we as men in general view as extra and don't take seriously past maybe a fling
